what's the obsession with watchlists?

users can join mydramalist solely for the discussions, they might not feel the need to publicly display their watchlists and ratings

having or not having a watchlist doesn't correlate to a user's employment status, and the accusation of using multiple accounts to hate on the drama isn't grounded in concrete evidence. it's a tactic that seeks to discredit the users expressing their honest opinions about the drama

i'm not a fan of these beards and mustaches, but with all the drama over the explicit scenes, i'm tempted to put on my detective hat (or detective beard) to see how hairy the situation is. when do the scenes happen? could you guys provide me with timestamps/markers? a brief glance will suffice for me to make an informed assessment of the impropriety of the scenes

facial and body hair are an eyesore. won seok (jin woong) was a vision of clean-shaven perfection in season 1, it's a shame he grew a beard and moustache here. i'm still tuning in to root for the bond between seung heon (ha ri/su hyuk), won seok (jin woong) and si eon (byung min)

the creators of season 2, and potentially season 3, should take a page from season 1 and keep it strictly business between the male and female characters. introducing superfluous so-called "romantic" elements would disrupt the storylines and family dynamics that have proven so essential to the drama’s charm and coherence

seung heon (ha ri/su hyuk), the ever-chivalrous protector of his mischievous comrades, won seok (jin woong), si eon (byung min) and won hae (in gyoo), is the glue that binds them together. won hae (in gyoo) acts as their safety net, ensuring they don't end in handcuffs. they rely on each other's strengths and cover for each other's weaknesses. what a delightful gathering of colorful personalities and a merry band of misfits. i hope their paths never diverge

"why are you ugly?"
"i think this man is uglier" (episode 6, 25:08)

these children are focusing on surface-level appearances. labelling someone as "ugly" when they've been nothing but kind is an unwarranted act of disrespect that reflects poorly on their characters. children should learn to use their words wisely. words have the power to build up or tear down those around them

"i didn't want to come alone, but my guys have no loyalty. noone would care if something happened to me" (episode 6, 47:28)

it's disheartening to hear that the loyalty and care he expects from his guys, his close confidants, has been withheld. his guys should show him that they care about his safety as much as he's cared about theirs

I'm not surprised it's trending here in Europe. Both Jung Jungs fit more into the beauty standadrs of Europe by…
i don't play favorites with chins or rank non-korean standards of beauty above korean ones. whether it's a naturally flawless k-beauty jawline or a sharpened masterpiece fresh from the plastic surgeon's table, a korean individual is a sight to behold

the real gem that outshines outward beauty is the inner beauty of an individual, a beauty that's ageless, timeless, and not dictated by the origin of our chin or the source of our outward beauty

seung heon (ha ri/su hyuk): *promising to help won seok (jin woong), keeping his promise, beating those who dared lay a finger on won seok (jin woong)*
won seok (jin woong): *breathless with admiration*
seung heon (ha ri/su hyuk): what, did you fall in love with me?
won seok (jin woong): *a sweet chuckle escaping his lips* (episode 4, 28:08, 38:06)

i've been shipping these two since the start of their journey. the tenderness and care they displayed towards one another in episode 4 further cemented my commitment to this ship. they are two halves of a whole and together they shine, bringing warmth to the coldest of hearts

i couldn't bring myself to finish the drama. the thought of a family with so many children that the older siblings are pressured to take on parenting roles disturbs me. to top it all off, they didn't properly care for their dog and neglected to neuter him. if he were my dog, i would've neutered him at the first opportunity, to avoid the consequences of unwanted litters and aggressive behavior
On The Pork Cutlets Jul 28, 2024
"how dare he touch our dog without permission?"
"touch? they fell in love all by themselves" (7:28)

"love" is a human construct. non-human species might exhibit behaviors that resemble attachment or bonding, but these behaviors are driven by hormones. human "love" is more than hormones. it's the conscious decision to commit to someone, to sacrifice for them, to build a life with them. it requires free will. non-human species don't have the free will and ability to reflect on their feelings as humans do to "love" or "fall in love"

"you'll go to hell for doing heinous acts toward an animal. food and sex are the only joys animals have in life. how dare you suggest they be robbed of that?" (8:20)

this is a common misconception. food and "sex" aren't the only sources of pleasure or enjoyment in non-human species' lives. they can find pleasure in other activities, such as playing with toys, receiving affection from their human companions, or exploring their environment. reducing their aggression and heinous "sexual" behaviors reduces the number of unwanted, homeless non-human animals and is therefore a humane, responsible act that improves their quality of life. they will get to enjoy other activities that bring them pleasure. the same principle should be applied to humans who don't exercise self-control

"perhaps you rook revenge on behalf of your dog?"
"give me a break, why take revenge on behalf of a dog? should we go this far for a dog?" (1:32)

we should stand up for the rights of female non-human animals the bodies of which are mistreated, taken advantage of and bred by male human and non-human animals

please keep watching. the great thing about this drama is that it gives the characters room to grow and learn…
it was my pleasure!

dropping a drama is a valid decision. you gave it a fair shot, so you shouldn't feel pressured to stick with something that isn't working for you. thank you for engaging in the discussion and allowing me to share my thoughts

the drama didn't excuse se na’s actions. her mental instability and troubled past were an explanation for why she committed the acts she did, they weren't an excuse

because its trash
because people give lower ratings to darker, more serious, or more thought-provoking non-romantic content

btw can someone tell me if se na was actually in love with her sister or not. I don’t get if this was familial…
the type of love se na felt for her sister is ambiguous. it can be interpreted as a toxic familial or toxic romantic love

tae oh approached jae jin with ulterior motives, claiming to share his fear of blood. he was someone jae jin could relate to. it was later revealed that tae oh was an imposter named tae hwan with a connection to one of yeong won’s past patients

the pacing wasn't to your liking, it's okay

in the final episodes, yeong won confronts the weight of her words. "knowing what those families went through, i wonder if i was right about my judgement, i feel guilty" (episode 11, 40:06) and "i know i look like a hypocrite, my family is broken, but i finally understand what it means to be a family" (episode 12, 25:46)

to make amends for the misguided advice she had given her patients, yeong won takes on the role of a prison psychologist. she provides treatment and support to those like se na and tae oh/hwan who were failed by the system

such cringy trash. With so much bad over the top acting. Especially Yeonwoo.... good Kdramas are becoming so ridiculous…
it wasn't trash or cringe

yeonwoo's character was intentionally over the top. she was a broken person, unable to escape the demons that made her unlovable. her unstable mind clung to the hope that someone would see past her imperfections and stay by her side. it hurt her that other people were accepted by their families when her family rejected her

Gyeongseong Creature still wasn't a romance drama, though? Not sure what's confusing. Most dramas with ML/FL have…
i appreciate you taking the time to clarify the nuances of genre classification. if a work contains explicit "romance" elements, it would be reasonable to classify it as a "romance" in addition to the other genres that might be present

i felt that the "romance" storyline was a significant part of "gyeongseong creature" and warranted recognition as a genre. i didn't intend to offend anyone with my comment. others are free to disagree
