i believe ji hoon's statement is being misinterpreted. he didn't mean, "actors aren't cared for, dogs shouldn't be either." he meant, "dogs are well cared for." it was a compliment to the dog's treatment. he was praising the production team for taking good care of the dog, jody. drawing a comparison with how dogs are treated on set isn't arrogant. it's understandable that an actor or actress would want to advocate for better working conditions

lee jung eun from "hell is other people" and "missing: the other side 2" was here! her infectious energy and charm made her a joy to watch on screen. lee hong nae from "the uncanny counter" was here as well! it was wonderful to be reminded of his talent in a gay role

Why??? Why are South Korean writers obsessed with Zombies... Nuclear War is being threatened by Russia and North…
the fascination with zombies isn't unique to south korean writers. it's a genre that has been popular for decades. i'm more curious about the near-universal obsession with "sex" and "romance." they aren't as "glamorous" and "effortless" as they are made out to be in popular culture. with that in mind, i find more solace in the hidden "realism" of zombie narratives. they expose us to the worst of ourselves. for example, the insatiable hunger of the zombies represents humanity's rapacious consumption patterns and disregard for sustainability. the competition between survivors represents our cutthroat pursuit of survival, success and economic growth. zombies are a powerful metaphor for instincts. i like this about them

Gyeongseong Creature still wasn't a romance drama, though? Not sure what's confusing. Most dramas with ML/FL have…
netflix and mdl organize content according to genre, but these categorizations aren't facts. they are the subjective perspectives of those who define them. the absence of an overt "romance" label doesn't preclude something from being classified as a "romance" by some viewers, in the same way that a song not overtly labeled as a "sad" song might evoke sadness in its listeners and be labeled as "sad" by them

He was everywhere maybe 4 years ago. Now he's not everywhere and his last drama was a year ago, only on Netflix…
my perspective is influenced by my preference for thrillers that feature either no "romance" or implied, easily skippable "romance." i'm more inclined to classify a drama as a "romance" when the elements are explicitly present. in "gyeongseong creature," they were not only explicitly present but also involved a "kiss"

"itaewon class" has a "romance" tag rather than a "slight romance" tag, the elements are more prominent than "gyeongseong creature"

i know he had a guest role in "record of youth," it doesn't change that the collective body of work featuring him in a leading, supporting, or guest role have contained "romance" elements

"gyeongseong creature" turned out to have more "romance" than i expected from a thriller, i classify it as a bit of a "romance" drama

"man didn't film in any romance since WWWSK"

all three dramas, "gyeongseong creature" (2023), "itaewon class" (2020) and "record of youth" (2020) had elements of "romance" in them

this news about seo joon "returning" to "romance" kdramas is a head-scratcher, considering he's never strayed from the genre. even in his latest project, "gyeongseong creature," he was rehashing the same old trope of a smooth-talking playboy who was flustered after an encounter with a woman he knew nothing about
