"... it' still WRONG. You can't punish murder by murder"

it's not wrong, to me. the loss of a loved one is an incredibly traumatic experience, and i believe the permanent removal of the perpetrator from society is the only way to restore the balance that has been upset by the criminal/immoral act. i'd feel satisfied. rehabilitation and imprisonment aren't proportionate to the severity of certain acts

which bl/gay-centric cinematic piece is being met with homophobic backlash?

homophobic censorship can find no justification in a rational mind. there's a vast selection of non-gay stories that could've been adapted. overgrown and weedy, they are begging to be plucked. yet, greedy producers with an eye for controversy seem intent on plucking the colorful flowers of gay stories, only to prune them into bland, colorless husks of their former selves

they are cowards. they should stick to the weedy fields of non-gay stories and leave the gay flowers to those who have the courage to cultivate them in their vibrant, subversive glory

the creative "spirit" of korea is strangled by the whims of a single ideology, and it's hard to tell if we're in korea or china. the unchecked dominance of conservatism in national discourse is a threat to korea's democratic principles

were i the producer, i'd keep the gayness, not only as a means of artistic integrity, but also to elicit a forceful reaction from homophobes. their outrage is my elation. i'd watch them explode like cheap fireworks, and i'd have a crew on standby with brooms and dustpans to sweep up the scattered ashes of their ignorance

Respect AO3 😅.,some of the best literary works I've ready were from there 🤭
ao3 is an incredible resource for fanfiction writers and readers, the fanfictions hosted on the site sometimes surpass the quality of the works that inspired them

Respect AO3 😅.,some of the best literary works I've ready were from there 🤭
99% of source materials "ship" boys and girls, men and women, with an urgency that mirrors fanfiction. m/m, f/f fanfiction simply balances out the compulsive heterosexism

at its best, fanfiction isn't a passive retelling of a story. it's a corrective to the problematic tropes and relationships found in source materials. it asks "what ifs" or "what could have beens" to open up new possibilities for storytelling and human connection. what if the characters interacted, what if a red flag underwent a positive transformation and redeemed themselves, what if the characters didn't identify as "straight," what if the characters' relationships blossomed into something deeper than "just friendship," etc. "what ifs" question the arbitrary limitations of the source material. they are an imaginative, ambitious version of a story

i'd agree that fanfiction doesn't always fulfill its potential for excellence. i estimate that 10-40% of the stories labeled "m/m" are m/f omegaverse stories featuring a male-looking female creature capable of going into heat and becoming pregnant. they perpetuate a homophobia that's as regressive, if not more so, than their source materials

Title Victory
the male characters were irrelevant. the chemistry between the female characters was more than sufficient to sustain the plot, i can imagine how fantastic a gl story with them at the center would be

hye ri’s character deserves a storyline in which she's able to pursue her love of hip hop dancing. seeing her succeed would be a more rewarding story than one in which she's pressured to compromise her dream in favor of cheerleading

Homophobia, social conservatism and censorship are the most likely answers, unfortunately. ://
the absence of gay stories on television is a direct result of the culture of fear, stigma, and discrimination toward nonconforming sexualities

homophobia is the main reason

I stan POLY COUPLES, this is such an underrated drama. honestly even though it ended beautifully i want a season…
i don't stan polyamory/gamy. it's a hazardous, structurally inegalitarian practice for the most part, akin to a high-wire act where the participants are blindfolded and juggling razor-sharp swords. the odds of failure are high

the human mind has a predilection for favoritism/preferential treatment, directing resources or attention towards one partner at the expense of the other partners and creating an atmosphere swarming with the poisonous fruits of jealousy, rivalry, distrust. in the context of "3 will be free," the partner of the opposite sex receives preferential treatment. the partner of the same sex is a third wheel. this polyamory/gamy is doomed to fail

it's only in the embrace of same-sex partners that my heart is softened to polyamory/gamy. outside of it, my heart remains hardened

this isn't a genuine three-person "relationship," it's a triangle that privileges "straightness" and rejects the possibility of a gay relationship

"... the hardcore BL stans may dislike it for the polyamory and it not being pure gay, but I actually really like when sexuality is shown in it's less rigid forms"

what should we call you? a hardcore liberal?

a preference for exclusive gay representation isn't narrow-minded, extreme, or hardcore. it's a preference

i'm assigning "3 will be free" a score of 0-1 out of 10, the first reason being my aversion to polyamory/gamy. polyamory/gamy is a hazardous, structurally inegalitarian practice for the most part, akin to a high-wire act where the participants are blindfolded and juggling razor-sharp swords. the odds of failure are high

it's only in the embrace of same-sex partners that my heart is softened to polyamory/gamy. outside of it, my heart remains hardened

adding to my first reason is the proliferation of media narratives featuring "sexually fluid" characters, in contrast with characters that identify as homosexual. even "gay" stories feature bi or sexually fluid characters. a single instance of same-sex attraction is the exception to their otherwise heteronormative experiences

it's clear that bisexuality is privileged over homosexuality. the attraction to both men and women is a "comfortable" middle ground for homophobes that partially adheres to societal expectations. what's needed is a radical, unapologetic depiction of exclusive homosexuality, a same-sex love untainted by the trappings, influence, or intrusion of "straightness." a world of unbridled beauty and joy awaits; a world where men pledge their hearts and bodies to men, where women pledge their hearts and bodies to women, where same-sex love is a sacred union sealed with the promise of eternal devotion

the level of open-mindedness displayed in this story is so extreme, it's as if the producers' brains fell out

"The patients become the victims of the overused trope: society is the problem"

society is a problem. many individuals who require long-term psychiatric care have a history of enduring abuse and neglect. environmental factors play a role in the development and exacerbation of mental illness

in placing the blame for mental health issues solely on the individual, "you're the problem" absolves society of its responsibility for creating and maintaining systems or environments that exacerbate mental health conditions

it's problematic that "romance" and medication are presented as simplistic "cures" for mental health issues, i agree, but i also find the accusation of "victim mentality" to be problematic. the term is overused to trivialize, dismiss, and gaslight. it denies individuals the opportunity to address and process their trauma

predicition: in american version she will be a blonde bimbo with huge tits, and she will crash land in some latin…
many lgb individuals have been brainwashed/conditioned to "be nice" to tq+. if you've noticed, tq+ messaging in popular culture and media uses language that bears a striking similarity to the language used by cults to recruit new members. they love-bomb lgb, showering them with fake attention to shape their thoughts and behaviors to their liking

there exists a substantial faction of us lgb individuals who are gender critical and resisting tq+, though, and we do so cautiously

i don't use the acronym "lgbtq+" that lumps together groups with divergent interests

tq+ prey on the vulnerabilities of non-conforming and mentally unstable individuals and manipulate them into believing they are in the wrong body. lgb are targeted by their ideology the most, with those who express a strong preference for the same sex being labeled as "transphobic" and facing ostracism. lesbians are told to "suck girl dick (the penis of a trans-identified man)" and gay men are told to "eat boypussy (the vulva of a trans-identified woman)"

many of us are advocating for a return to an exclusive focus on the unique needs of openly lesbian, gay, bisexual individuals. lgb and lgbdropthet have arisen as a response to the divergence of lgb's and tq+'s interests
