Wow, you are wildly projecting your fantasies onto this show. Hiro stood up Kai at the festival, he rarely makes…
it's possible that shunya (hiro)'s initial willingness was based on a different set of circumstances or motivations than his later actions. for example, he was feeling adventurous or curious that night

the relationship evolved, he underwent a metamorphosis and the couple started having priorities that took precedence over sex. a lack of verbal communication doesn't negate the possibility

it's also possible that the writers failed to address or develop the complexities of the couple's sexual relationship. i see your point

Green_Goblin didn't say that kota (kai) and shunya (hiro) were living together as if they were already engaged. that was my interpretation of their relationship. their deep care and support for one another resembled that of an engaged couple, well beyond the initial stages of a relationship

"Hiro stood up Kai at the festival, he rarely makes it home to eat Kai's wonderful cooking"

some jobs entail extended working hours, frequent travel, or erratic, unpredictable schedules. shunya (hiro)'s job made it difficult for him to be available for shared couple activities. it wasn't intentional

i'd like to clarify that i celebrate sexual relationships between two men or two women, but in the context of this story, "groping and riding" wouldn't align with the couple's emotional development. shunya (hiro) has only recently become aware of his feelings for kota (kai)

"i don't care what happens to me, but could you leave tang alone?" (episode 8, 5:36)

woo shik (lee tang) and yo han (roh bin) were broken men who found solace in each other's company. this was evident in episodes 6-8. yo han (roh bin) sacrificed himself and woo shik (lee tang) rushed to his side, weeping, refusing to let go of his lifeless body, and addressing him with the affectionate term "hyung" (he used the term even before episode 8)

the drama didn't "reduce" yo han (roh bin), woo shik (lee tang), and hee joon (song chon) to "criminals." the three of them had multifaceted personalities and backgrounds

yo han (roh bin), for example, was an intelligent orphan. his belief that "human trash should be discarded/thrown away" was a reflection of his exposure to the harsh realities of societal inequality from a young age. hee joon (song chon) was labeled as "the son of a criminal," mistreated by his superiors, and denied the opportunity to pursue his dream of becoming a detective. his eventual embrace of the "criminal" label was a response to society's prejudices

skipping over the inappropriate, nsfw scenes and clearing them out of the way, i was surprised by the acting, editing, male dynamics, and yo han (roh bin)'s adorably chubby cheeks. it would be a delight to see the reunion of the quartet, yo han (roh bin), woo shik (lee tang), hee joon (song chon), and suk ku (nan gam), in a future family drama. i want them to be a happy family. and i insist, with all due respect, that suk ku (nan gam) arrive at the hypothetical family gathering clean-shaven. beards and mustaches are unpleasing to the discerning eye

Exactly!!! only thing I can complain about is that this is so short : ( with this plot and chemistry, I want more…
the work setting added depth to shunya (hiro)'s character. it was heartwarming to see kota (kai) become a safe space for shunya (hiro) to escape from the manipulation and stress of his job

attending festivals, cooking meals, or living together as if they were already engaged. it's clear that kota (kai) and shunya (hiro)'s relationship is built on a foundation of care, affection, and a whole lot of heart. the small, everyday gestures make their bond so special

"... pretend she is male"

a tomboy is a woman. she's not less of a woman or more of a man

i don't order a pizza and pretend the pepperoni is vegan. it's not the same thing. i won't pretend the woman is a man

"That is like me watching a BL and saying it would have been so much better if such and such was a woman"

there are already more "straight" stories than ketchup packets in a fast food restaurant. we don't need more

"Why are you even commenting if you didn't watch it?"

op's question was, "is it a gay drama?" and i said it's not. why would i watch the drama to answer a basic question?

my taste buds can detect a "straight" story from a mile away, and trust me, they aren't itching for that flavorless dish. give it a nice gay twist, and that's a dish i would dig into

episodes 3&4

entitled brat alert! no way would a self-respecting asian household let the niece get away with that kind of behavior

the uncle's stellar parenting skills deserve a standing ovation. jin man wasn't just a guardian, he was a hero-slash-FBI agent, running background checks on a cast of sketchy characters. ji an's middle school friend was a sneaky little thief. her tutor was arrested for molestation. her "date" was the poster child for "why you shouldn't let your teenager drive or smoke." jin man was like, "unauthorized operation of a vehicle? not on my watch, kid!"

jin man went above and beyond. he raised ji an and provided for her. why wasn't i his niece? i wouldn't have given him a hard time. he'd say "listen up," and i'd have been all ears!

episodes 5&6

the cunning, smart uncle isn't someone to leave without a fight. he must have orchestrated his suicide/disappearance to get the jump on bale. he interrogated jung min, knowing he was up to no good. he listened to the recording many times, knowing it wasn't ji an's voice. he would have sniffed out the lie faster than a bloodhound on the scent of a juicy steak! this is a big game of cat and mouse, and he's a step ahead. otherwise, this is lackluster writing. i refuse to believe that our mastermind met an anticlimactic fate

the body in the bathtub must have been a prop from his local halloween store...

How come its homophobic?? Gays dont do drugs or what?? If they have shown the same scenario in a hetero bar, as…
the people who criticize fiction still find value or enjoyment in its imaginative, unrealistic elements, or they'd watch a documentary

real "life" is messy and disjointed. fiction has a structure with a clear beginning, middle, and end. it's a stylized, dramatized version of reality. the coherence and exaggeration make the most realistic fiction somewhat unrealistic. adding a touch of happy unrealism to an unrealistic structure should be perfectly acceptable

i'm not advocating for the complete elimination of sad endings. i'm suggesting that happy endings can be valid and authentic

your comment implies that we can't criticize or offer different perspectives on cultural practices outside our own. it's a false dichotomy

relativism allows for constructive criticism and growth

gay people are associated with negative stereotypes. without context or explanation, the activities would leave the impression that "crime" is inherent to the gay experience

people turn to fiction to seek a form of false hope, solace, entertainment, or respite from everyday challenges. it's not fair to expect all gay stories to be a commentary on social issues

bls and gls explore relationships that are not bound by social norms or expectations. they are important for their entertainment value, and their ability to promote visibility. they elevate, centralize and celebrate gay relationships

quality of representation is lacking. the side characters are one-dimensional, marginal or secondary in importance

mainstream media landscape is driven by ratings. its content appeals to the widest possible audience. the inclusion of gay characters in secondary, less important roles would be a compromise between the desire for representation and the reality of homophobic commercial pressures, backlash or boycott. i will agree, it's better than nothing

for too long, gay stories have been marred by the "bury your gays" trope. we should move beyond that. gay people aren't solely defined by trauma or adversity. their experiences can encompass joy, love, resilience, and strength

comparing the depiction of drug use at a "straight" bar to that of a gay bar is not a valid comparison. gay people have historically faced greater discrimination. representations of marginalized groups should be handled with greater sensitivity and consideration

most asian or non-asian media deny gay people the recognition and respect afforded to their "straight" identifying counterparts

alternative sexualities are often silenced and relegated to the margins. the absence of gay characters sends the message that gay people are not part of society. when they aren't absent, they are depicted as deviant, sinful, or pathological. that is homophobic

the false sense of "progress" lulled you into a false sense of security. you don't recognize the ways in which homophobia shapes modern institutions

fiction is not reality, and not meant to be a perfect mirror of reality. realistic or unrealistic, happy gay stories (bl, gl) challenge the dominant narratives, offer hope in a bleak, discouraging society and inspire change

"cha yeo woon's leg isn't injured
tae myung ha has friends
cha yeo woon doesn't quit track
tae myung ha has 300,000 won
cha yeo woon falls in love for the first time
tae myung ha has a fan club" (episode 6, 18:14)

the purpose of the game was to make joo wan (yeo woon) happy. tae vin (myung ha) helping or dating joo wan (yeo woon) aligned with this purpose

an injury would have robbed joo wan (yeo woon) of the joy he found in running. and an unreciprocated affection would have undermined joo wan (yeo woon)'s emotional well-being. it was only natural that joo wan (yeo woon) and tae vin (myung ha) would fall in love and date for the first time. why did the game present errors? is there a reason behind the glitches, or is it an inconsistency within the game's design?
