we aren't "forcing our opinions or viewpoints onto others." we are sharing our opinions or viewpoints. you get to comment that you like incest. we get to comment that we dislike incest. dropping the drama or expressing our dislike is us "forcing our opinions or viewpoints onto others?" then shaming us for dropping or expressing our dislike is you forcing your opinions or viewpoints onto us

"This argument has been disproven time and again"

it wasn't disproven. liberals wish it was. their "research" assumes their preferred conclusion and deviates from the truth in data collection, analysis, interpretation or publication. they introduce a systematic error into their sampling/testing and select one answer (that media doesn't affect us) over others. i don't trust that answer

there's a long history of social science research on the effects of media content. laboratory experiments conducted by psychologists, which account for a large share of the rigorous work on the topic, have demonstrated that problematic or non-problematic media content respectively increases or decreases measures of (sexual or non-sexual) aggression. problematic media content contributes to social problems. denying the contribution denies casualty and psychology of human behavior. this is the consensus among professionals

"Their behavior mirrors what was commonly seen in the past when people would blatantly attack and bash gays and gay representations"

you're conflating "gay" with "incestuous" and resurfacing false stereotypes as a political tool to rile up the liberal/conservative base that further marginalizes gay people

gay and "straight" incest are treated equally. social groups have an interest in maximizing the odds of healthy family dynamics. an incestuous relationship between family members can be destructive to the dynamic. the family-damage argument against incest doesn't apply to non-incestuous gay relationships

"Parents (and teachers) should be teaching kids morals, not media"

media has a role to play in passing on morality to children. it cultivates in children the intentions, feelings and habits of moral subscription. i believe media should give children moral guidance by representing moral conduct, and modelling appropriate reactions to the immoral conduct of others

"Understanding more about such situations can help prevent them from happening"

incestuous media prevents incest? why wouldn't it do the opposite? it's a myth that problematic media content encourages crime, and a fact that it prevents crime? you're begging the question. i can imagine problematic media content initially reducing crime, and increasing crime in the longer run due to the potential psychological effects that are persistent, or accumulate through repeated exposure

parents and teachers should engage children in discussion and reflection on the immorality of incest. isn't that right?

you said media shouldn't teach us morality. it's not media's job to raise awareness and facilitate discussion. you shouldn't want media to depict, address and educate us about the topic of pedophilia, incest or rape

note: having read your other comments about me, it's clear you and i don't see eye to eye. my mental health tells me to block, and that's what i'll do. i hope you understand

Interesting how people drop this because of the incest but when there is murder in a movie i never see anybody…
i have seen people complain about gory "murder" scenes that treat the characters like tissue paper. a recent example: commenters switched off over smashed and blown apart bodies in moving (kdrama), saying, "the gore isn't for me." the sight of blood or incest provokes a different response from person to person. some can't tolerate blood or incest. some can tolerate blood, not incest. some can tolerate incest, not blood. some can tolerate both

blood covering the screen? i can watch depending on whose blood it is. is it the blood of my favorite characters? then i can't watch. i'd fast-forward or drop. incest is as unwatchable. is it the blood of the other characters? then i can watch

"You can have a majority's opinion in a socialist nation that does not practice democracy"

socialism and democracy can't be compared. socialism is an economic system. democracy is a political ideology

"Democracy is a structure in which the government is designed by the people, led by the people, serving the people"

that's an incomplete "definition"

democracy is other people, and the ignorance of the majority that has long galled the minorities. plato was one of the earliest to see democracy as a problem, and its typical citizens as shiftless and flighty:

"Sometimes he drinks heavily while listening to the flute; at other times, he drinks only water and is on a diet; sometimes he goes in for physical training; at other times, he’s idle and neglects everything; and sometimes he even occupies himself with what he takes to be philosophy. He often engages in politics, leaping up from his seat and saying and doing whatever comes to mind. If he happens to admire soldiers, he’s carried in that direction, if money-makers, in that one. There’s neither order nor necessity in his life, but he calls it pleasant, free, and blessedly happy, and he follows it for as long as he lives"

it would be safer, plato thought, to entrust power to carefully educated few. to keep their minds pure of distractions—family, money, and naughtiness

i agree with that

"Based on your username..."

i'm happy that my username made a good first impression! my country doesn't recognize the rights of gay people. i do. i don't share the same anti-gay interests, and lifestyles as others

"... just because some people lie or cheat"

some people?

children may be innocent. adults aren't. we deserve "wars unleashed upon us"

"I find it insulting that..."

you dismissed my experiences of bloodshed due to what you perceive to be more important or serious bloodsheds. your "i had it worse" sob story is insulting

"... you have witnessed it with your own eyes"

i said i have witnessed it with my own eyes...

"I wonder if you support the bloodshed of..."

i'd respond to the questions, but i don't want to lose my account. let's say i support anyone who seeks revenge, and leave it at that

I don't understand why people are defending Rahee more and demonising Mone. Both are evil and greedy but Rahee…
we're not demonizing mo ne. we are describing her. she's a 20-year-old demon who assisted in the commission of criminal defamation. her/her accomplices' posts falsely accusing a teenager (da mi) of prostitution and teenage "pregnancy," and the teenager's adoptive parents of grooming and sexual assault went viral on social media. the posts reached the news agencies. harrowing nationwide damage was done to da mi and her adoptive parents in circumstances where there was no finding of guilt. isn't that wicked? mo ne is worse than ra hee. her false accusations were made with ill intent
Replying to ClaudiaDramaLover Sep 17, 2023
Mone is ambitious, a bully but I think she has some remorse like when she gave away the baby and then was told…
mo ne is 20. an adult/grown ass woman. she's behind the cyberbullying of da mi and her adoptive parents. da mi and her adoptive parents lost their reputation, sense of self-worth, and place in society. what mo ne did is inexcusable
why do kdrama girls and women rarely get along?

ra hee isn't a parent. she's trash. parenting isn't about bearing a child. it's about bearing witness to the child's growth. da mi's adoptive parents raised her. they are her parents

"i didn't know i was pregnant. i tried to get an abortion, but it was too late"

is this a joke? didn't mo ne, the bully, notice that her period was late? by the end of the 4th week, girls and women report "pregnancy" symptoms like morning sickness and fatigue. it's around the time she'd miss her period. her breasts would have felt tender or sensitive. her uterus would have expanded to house the growing fetus and pushed against her bladder. she'd have urinated frequently. how could she not notice? the revised south korean law would have allowed abortion until 24th week

where was her belly bump? between 16-20 weeks, the belly would have popped and had a bloated appearance. she had a supermodel body when giving birth...

mo ne is trash. she set da mi up and tarnished her image

"The police are also just doing their job, but I find them annoying"

the police officers are annoying. they and the criminals who got away with their crimes are partners in crimes. and they wonder why dog mask does what he does? dog mask is a hero. this ungrateful society doesn't deserve him or his kindness

"... that is how democracy works"

democracy is majority opinion; personal judgements and standards "imposed" by the majority on themselves and minorities

while there might be unjust forms of non-democratic government, democracy isn't a just form of government. unregulated, equal, universal suffrage—in which each citizen is automatically entitled to vote and make laws—is on its face morally objectionable. universal suffrage incentivizes the ignorant majority to make ignorant political decisions. political decision making or law making isn't choosing for oneself. it's playing "gods" and choosing for everyone. government officials are people. people aren’t wise or good enough to occupy positions of prestige or power. imbuing an office with the discretionary power of people attracts the worst—people who would abuse that power

you're not okay with people playing "gods?" abolish the government

"Its not okay for someone to kill for revenge"

revenge. sweet revenge. revenge is so alluring that barriers of sinfulness were felt to be necessary. people commonly don't make a sin/crime out of something that has no allure

immoral society doesn't disguise their horror at the morality of honor-based action. in revenge, they connive to construct a notion of revenge that trivializes it. revenge is thus distinguished from criminal punishment. criminal punishment is supported and administered by the state in a controlled, proportional (that's debatable) fashion. revenge, in contrast, is seen as crazed, uncontrolled, individual. revenge, so misunderstood, is an anathema to the rule of law, and a source of fascination for the romantic. the claims come from proponents of criminal punishment anxious to admit that criminal punishment is revenge. a revenge upon which developed societies we think of as rather glorious based their moral and social order

revenge knows how to dispose of or rehabilitate criminals with more than a slap on the wrist (execution or imprisonment). criminal punishment is revenge richly embedded in a complex structure that regulates, cabins and constrains it. government officials are third parties taking revenge on behalf of their people. they hurt criminals for hurting society to bring peace to the people affected by the criminals

it is okay to avenge assaults and injuries. i don't believe in a "god." people make up laws and enforce them. few people, government officials, made up laws to hunt down and punish other people. they aren't "gods" and they assume powers of decision or control metaphorically reserved to a "god." other people hunting down and punishing each other or government officials isn't a problem

"Ask any refugee"

you assume that i'm a stranger to the smells of blood?

i'm from a middle eastern country that's politically and economically at war with itself and other countries. our government officials and police officers shot at the faces and genitals of our unarmed protesters, threatening to shut down our internet access and turn this country into a 2nd north korea. we don't have the "privilege" of a functional police force. blood that shouldn't have been shed, has been shed. the blood of government officials and police officers should be shed next

"... innocent people"

people are shades of grey. shades of moral and immoral. noone is 100% innocent. not me. not you. not anyone. we have all done things we should be punished for

"it's not the government or the judges that pass a guilty or not guilty verdict. It is the people"

you weren't okay with people dictating who should "live or die." you're okay with people dictating who should be guilty or not-guilty?

dog mask's executions are "democratic and balanced." people weigh the aggravating and mitigating factors in a criminal case and decide whether execution is warranted. dog mask executed the criminals the majority voted to execute. you're nitpicking

you called our opinions stupid. why can't we call your opinions stupid? it's stupid that you believe law = morality. laws don't always reflect morality, and what's illegal doesn't always translate to what's immoral. is what dog mask doing illegal? yes. is what dog mask doing immoral? that's up for debate. a salient fact about moral discourse is that people disagree. i don't believe in the "sanctity of life" to agree that execution, revenge or vigilantism is immoral. i believe dog mask is a hero who outsmarted the police, addressed police misconduct, and saved the day (or night)

Its a good concept..but it can be dangerous..if not..all countries will hv a gaetal. Korea just got a case similar…
the law enforced by the government isn't neutral or objective. a government that desires "order" judges "disorder." the judgement is a psychological notion clouded by emotions. we can't understand what the judgement is without bringing in the notions of love and hatred, comfort and discomfort, tolerance and intolerance

why should order be maintained? give me a reason that's not clouded by the fear of disorder or discomfort. you can't

"should" statements express subjective value judgments about the desirability of a situation. neutral agents don't desire order or disorder. they are unaligned with any side

humans are flawed. you can't have a perfectly balanced government. and you can't trust that government officials will have your best interests at heart. the government officials of this story broke people's trust. they didn't catch criminals or maintain order. people like dog mask had to take the law into their own hands
