I'm only here because of Jeok Bong (Yoo In Soo). I was happy that they provided Jeok Bong a rather charming country-boy…
i'm here for ms. chu, so moon and jeok bong. i felt a little down today and jeok bong's frenetic energy and uncanny knack for humor helped me. other people don't find him funny, but i do
the drama strayed so far from the webtoon* that i assumed the webtoon was used as a launching pad to deliver a new, better story. it set its own course. what a pity that gelly erased so moon's memories, like the webtoon. so moon will relive his traumatic experiences and that's not okay
now that it's come to this, the drama should continue to be a faithful adaptation. then so moon will wrestle his demons, retrieve his lost memories and wake up from the fake coma stronger than before. webtoon so moon is a winner, a warrior. he defies the odds by surviving the most gruesome battles. the only walls were those placed in his mind by his lost memories. that's what i want to see here
*if you're wondering what changed, webtoon wi gen was an ethnically german woman. she had a daughter. webtoon jeok bong wasn't a farmer boy. he was an aspiring singer with no backstory. there was no lim jae yeol. webtoon counters summoned webtoon pil kwang and webtoon wong yeok earlier. there was no pil kwang when webtoon gelly erased webtoon so moon's memories. webtoon counters and webtoon ju seok were strangers. webtoon ju seok had no backstory. we knew he lost his partner and daughter, and ... that was it
the drama did a better job of developing the characters
So I think that Somun will discovers his powers again when someone in the crew gets killed, probably Motak or…
they are staying true to the webtoon. gelly erasing so moon's memories in the hallway? that was season 2, chapter 32. this means so moon will/should recover his memories, wake up from the fake coma and bounce back stronger than ever before. webtoon so moon and the yung territory became one. he didn't need to summon the territory or the spirits. the territory flowed through his body like blood
wi gen: just as yung is a doorway that connects the human world and the afterlife, so moon is yung itself (season 2, chapter 45)
Chun Ae's death was the only one that pained me. Although I wished her and Kim Momi would get their happy ending,…
their loyalty carried the story. jae yi (chun ae) gave nana (mo mi) the strength to fight. nana (mo mi) couldn't fight for herself, but, for her abused jae yi (chun ae), she could. they deserved better
It's all a bit lurid and camp but I absolutely enjoyed the bulldozing of k-drama moralism and prudishness.
there's nothing wrong with being a prude. some people aren't comfortable with nsfw content, and some producers take that into consideration. prudish kdramas are advertiser-friendly. they reach a wider audience and give adults a chance to snuggle up on the couch with little munchkins and giant bowls of popcorn to enjoy quality family time. no child, teenager or adult would have to roll their eyes at profanity or unsolicited "sexual" images
if it's the self-righteousness, every group is intolerant of the opinions and behaviors of other groups. non-prudes shame prudes and prudes shame non-prudes
"i wanted to protect her. by protecting her, i was also protecting myself" (episode 4, 33:02)
i ship jae yi (chun ae) and nana (mo mi). the moment they and their eyes met, i wondered if it was starlight that flickered so intensely in them! jae yi (chun ae) smiled, and her smile hugged nana (mo mi). she saw herself through nana (mo mi)'s eyes, bleeding, broken and sobbing. it was one of the most powerful connections. they'd have been a stylish couple
i can't excuse what they did to themselves or hye ran (kyung ja), though. noone gets to lay their hands on our ms. chu!
"a heinous crime was committed. the defendant's crime against humanity..."
does the judge hear herself? the first guy verbally and physically abused han byul/nana (mo mi). she used no more force than was necessary to defend herself. she didn't intend to "murder" him. it was an accident. her stalker "murdered" him
the second guy was the stalker. to start over, han byul/nana (mo mi) erased him. crime against humanity? humanity is a crime itself. what did you want her to do? call the incompetent police that laughed off her reports of molestation? they wouldn't listen to her. she was on her own
"if being called ugly is enough to make you murder someone, noone would be alive"
then don't call anyone ugly? and he didn't just call her ugly, he wanted to rape her! that's enough to "murder" him
"that's a boy, i won't sit next to him. i'd like to sit next to a girl"
ye seo (mi mo) slayed
"the soulmates are here. you're a cute couple" "i heard they are in love. someone saw them making out"
i wouldn't be surprised. min seo (ye chun) has already kissed ye seo (mi mo)'s cheeks and said she's special. they held hands, planned to move in together and ... shared a bathroom? their relationship moved fast
Hi, I think you should go watch James Somerton's video 'for the love of gay nuance', which is about how inexplicit…
they didn't attack you. they disagreed with your opinion, shared their opinions and contributed to the discussion. comment sections exist to spark discussions and showcase competing opinions. they don't exist to silence disagreement
In the fan community lately, there are two kinds of opinions floating around. Some are pointing fingers at So…
shipping fandoms are overly invested and toxic. they are hostile and have an uncaring attitude toward producers, actors and other fans. that's fandom for you
did so moon have a "crush" on ha na? yes. we didn't deny that. does so moon have to end up with ha na? no. he doesn't have to. all we said was that time (2 years) changed the characters and what was between them came to a close. the change might look negative on the surface, but that space was created for better, more positive family dynamics to emerge. to make sense out of this change, we have to plunge into it, move with it and accept it
or not. "shippers" are welcome to see themselves out. it's entitled and disrespectful that they stay, talk shit about season 2, rate it too low and demand that things go their way. they were free to make this comment section about them and their "ship." we should be as free to point the toxicity out
Hi, I think you should go watch James Somerton's video 'for the love of gay nuance', which is about how inexplicit…
it's my first time watching a james somerton video and i like that he tackles serious topics with flashes of humor. i'll quote him:
"if a studio or network isn't blasting their self-promotional circle-jerk across the internet, how do we know a character is gay? how do we know it's gay representation if a giant, money-grubbing, straight, family-values corporation isn't telling us that this is gay representation? how gay is gay enough for it to be gay?
not even that. at what point are people going to stop telling us what is or isn't gay? apparently, we aren't allowed to have nuanced depictions of gay experiences. unless we are showing up on a pride float wearing a leather harness and puppy hood, people will insist we don't exist
declaring our sexuality just to prove we exist gets exhausting for us. we get stuck in a cycle where our existence is based solely on our sexuality and sex. and so our existence is deemed not appropriate for all audiences. [a man] doesn't have to have [another man] bent over a bench to justify or demonstrate their sexual and romantic leanings. the sexual and romantic leanings can focus on a much more wholesome depiction"
he's right. the censorship of gay content is global and gay characters rarely make it to mainstream productions. it's "straight" content that's glorified everywhere. we have to read between the lines and rely on the context hinted at in specific scenarios, like two men or women bonding, coming out as outcasts that struggle with acceptance and assimilation, etc. the closeness or otherness of two male or female characters can be closely tied with and interpreted as their gayness
this isn't "gay-baiting," and even if it were, it's better than nothing
Maybe, it's me but I'm really not getting what's going on! I'm also more interested in Hyun Jae finding love!…
chan hyun (hyun jae) is a major green flag. he:
1) respects jun mo (jun) and his boundaries 2) listens to jun mo (jun) and shows interest in his interests 3) shows up when he says he's going to 4) takes care of jun mo (jun) before he has to ask
he deserves a man who falls in love with him at first sight, at last sight, at ever and ever sight. a man who returns his feelings 🥺
You need to stop sucking off a mid show. The romance sucks all around. It doesn’t exist in the webtoon, it shouldn’t…
you're coming across all high and mighty. are you any different?
everyone else was wrong. they wanted so moon and ha na when the "romance" would suck all around. you said so yourself. and clichés aren't necessarily bad. they are just not original. what's original anymore? every story worth telling has been told thousands of times
a "clumsy dumb" character who will "finally find his footing and be helpful and useful" is a round character. jeok bong goes through significant change. the change is a good way to show the personality and depth of his character
i'm rooting more for chan hyun (hyun jae) as opposed to the two male leads. he's a nice man who treats his crush with respect. jun mo (jun) isn't his side piece that he wants to date in addition to a fiancé. why does he have to be a sub-plot character? he deserves his own bl story and a man who gives as much as he takes/treats him like a prince

we didn't lose any of the counters in the webtoon
