Honestly, I fail to understand Yeomhwa resolve. Her character is as morally gray as badly written. What does she want: to raise her child from the dead or to have him as her patron deity? I dislike her character and the actress is a very good one but the character lacks so much depth. I am not displacing the loss of your child but willing to go to any length is WICKED. What did she expect to happen when she used the Goblin clothe, now rushing in to cry crocodile.
I think most of the characters asides the lead lack depth. Even the mother—we are unable to adequately tell what their motivation is and 2 episode isn’t enough to explain all that.
DYG! Eunnam is so much like her mother, very indecisive and self-centered. I dislike CDH so much, her entire style and pitiful eyes unnerves me! Taeyun is a bit like his father, he can stand for himself and knows what is right or wrong!
Cha Deokhui is the worst character in this movie, right after Yeom Jangseon. She’s inherently wicked and evil, and I need to understand her motivation. First, she hated her husband, Yeo Sunho, and Chu Gyeonweon for almost 30 years to the point of wanting to kill them. Now, when her son returns, she asks Ildo to kill them. After finding out that Donju is Ildo’s son, not Sunho’s, she flares up again and wants to take everything from him. I dislike her character so much; she’s just so driven by evil.
Everyone in the Cha family is mean and self-centered. I can’t entirely blame them—it’s the chaebol way of being insecure about everything.
I just hope Donju doesn’t end up with any of them as a wife and instead ends up winning DAESAN!
What blows a hole in your theory is that most romance Kdramas have CEO rich guy as the ML.And these men are all…
Your examination of the K-drama troupe is very true. Movies & Drama are reviewed based on comparisons to: reality, believability, emotional truth, genre standard & artistic quality.
In reality, most guys pursue their significant other from the very start and many women are often indecisive—this isn’t a K-drama truth, it’s universal.
More so, if their love story went smoothly, there wouldn’t be 16 episodes 😃

You are further exemplifying what I have just said—the yardstick for comparison shouldn’t be other dramas but reality of the current drama. Two couples can’t love each other equally, one loves more or first. In this case it was SD who loved first and more—he literally pursued her, YE is more confused on her choices based on her upbringing & priorities.
Like her Grandpa said you can’t pick between SD and Daesan—her priority is revenge against her stepfather, the timeline has not given depth into that story, maybe they will in coming episodes
Why are many viewers acting emotional towards Yeo Eunwa & Seo Dongju in this drama. We all need to understand that from the get-go SD was the only one that really loved her, be literally halted his simping plans but she met a cute guy and wanted to have fun but ended up falling for him.
When watching stories like this, it’s important to consider family background and upbringing. In the Daesan family, everything is transactional — if there’s no gain or benefit, there’s no commitment. Eunwa’s desire for leverage against Ildo stems from her belief that he stole her father’s rightful position, and that resentment drives many of her decisions.
Given her circumstances, it’s understandable that she struggles to choose between someone she’s infatuated with and her long-term mission to challenge her stepfather’s influence. Some of the criticism toward her character overlooks this complexity. It’s easy to get caught up in fan-driven biases, but viewing her actions through the lens of strategy and survival brings more depth to her choices.
Yes, Dongju clearly loves her more, and she’s beginning to reciprocate those feelings. Are her decisions always right? No. Is she sometimes unreasonable? Probably. But she’s human — making the choices she believes are best for her situation. Considering the Daesan family’s rigid structure and power dynamics, would they even have allowed her to marry Dongju openly? Highly unlikely.
Let’s keep discussions focused on the character’s motivations and complexities, rather than resorting to harmful labels and oversimplifications.
She is mentally weak and can be convinced to change allegiance. Her moral compass is also very low as we can see her ready to use people or compromise on different issues.
Please, I am currently in Canada and dramacool the only site, I am able to access all this drama have been taken down. Can anyone recommend another site where I can watch, I see the comments and I am a big fan of Yang Zi.
Pretty faces and visuals, but nothing of substance. Very shallow.
I agree. The show is very shallow. Too much time on dialogue—filler dialogues. I started getting bored at episode 10. At 17, it seemed the show reached a climax
Please can someone write the ranking of The most powerful martial artists in Blood of youth. There are claims of 4 sword deities but I think Balli Dongjun should be more powerful that all of them even Mo Yi, there is even Zhao Yuchen and Sikong.
What is the ranking please.
I would not mind if there's a list for Dashing Youth as well. Thanks.
The last time I wrote a comment on MDL was Ancient Love of Poetry and that was a good comment but this is about to a very bad comment!
This drama has dragged on for too long and from what I have read in the comments, it is not getting any better. I blame the writers for the poorly written arcs and storyline not the cast because clearly Dylan and Bai Lu are GREAT ACTORS.
I hate how slow this story have progressed with many fillers, unnecessary scene, wordings, zero progress. I dropped it at ep 22, I am not picking it up till 30+.
Don’t even get me started on the best friend who thinks she is the IT Girl and men must pursue her yet she’s psychologically needy. She doesn’t deserve love, she should see a psychiatrist.
That’s how to shut the mouth a proud, arrogant and disbelieving coach! The last 10mins of episode 14 was so good! I was biting hard on my spoon and praying he got it right!
I am so happy for the healthy relationship amongst the tennis club members, that’s progressive. No bad blood.
I can’t wait till 15 tomorrow, I might just hack tencent to get all the episodes. I always enjoy Leo Wu’s slow burn romance with any actress, his eyes gosh ^^
Why is the male lead so unserious about everything, he literally jokes and bluff. I can not fathom or appreciate him in that CEO position. He is a mere joke!
I think most of the characters asides the lead lack depth. Even the mother—we are unable to adequately tell what their motivation is and 2 episode isn’t enough to explain all that.
Rest in peace, GENERAL DONGCHEON!
