Extremely trope-y.......standard Chinese rom-com.......okay-ish music......simplistic plot.......no angst.......decent acting and average direction. Yet.....yet.....I really liked it. This show is an equivalent of a candy floss. It’s more-ish, high feel good factor and satisfying. Yet not the best thing to binge on. Maybe it was the chemistry that makes it somewhat memorable in its genre. Whatever it is.....it’s a good watch ☺️
This one is probably one of the weakest Korean BL out there. It isn’t bad....much better than many of its counterparts from other countries. But because Korean BL shows have set the bar high.....one can only expect more. The acting wasn’t the best but they all were pleasant and decently casted. Music was okay.....story was different and the chemistry was blah. An average 7.5
I cannot stress enough how much more awesome it would’ve been had it been a BL. Not that I disliked the main couple......but the boys had an amazing vibe together. Even in the story.....they were the two main characters. I loved the girls and they definitely made their characters beautiful. But the bromance stole the show....no debate whatsoever. After a pint I was solely waiting for their scenes together. This had all the ingredients for becoming an amazing bl. Well....whatever it was I enjoyed it.....great show....great characters. If anyone know where I can read the manhwa please let me know :)
Didn’t have a plot but still stretched the story till ep 7......didn’t have a likeable FL but still tolerated her......didn’t like the second FL but she still got redeemed.....didn’t understand the second ML but he was one of the better characters.....didn’t feel enthusiastic about the kid bro angle but he was cute.......don’t have any complaints for the ML but still can’t bring myself to praise him. This show is the epitome of average. There’s nothing wrong with it on the surface......but it lacked so much depth, character development and soul. Very mediocre time kill kinda show to binge on when hunting for a good watch. Generous 7.5

My take? Has Cha Eun Woo improved as an actor? Heck ya ! Is he at par with other good kdrama actors? Nope....needs more practice. Does the show highlight the importance of self love, true concept of beauty and defying peer pressure/bullying? Not adequately......almost negligible. But is the show unbearable and supports concepts that are unhealthy for youngsters to consume? Not really This is not the most "woke", "self aware" and poignant narration on the pressures of image maintenance in the society. However, it is a harmless story that simply tried to portray the insecurity of a girl and her eventual journey of accepting herself. Of course the story could've done so many things better but, it was alright. I avoided this show for months thinking I will hate it (because I do have my own strong opinions on these issues). But after watching it I realized it was pretty decent (to say the least). Also.....till the time the main lead is not an A** h*** and the female lead still ends up with him....I do not understand the concept of second lead syndrome. Did I like Hwang In Yeop? Hell ya ! (Have you heard his voice.....the lord of baritone blessed him! ) But not for once I got second lead syndrome because Su ho as a character was amazing. Ofcourse I felt bad for him but no syndrome whatsoever because the main leads were perfect for each other. A decent 8.5 from me.
Hands down one of the best thing that has come out of the Asian drama world this year. This show is so so refreshing and heartwarming at the same time. I’m so shocked to see this rating....it’s a definite 8.7-9 category drama. Everything about it is beautiful....the cast, the well written script, ost, good direction, well paced screenplay, intelligent editing, simple cinematography....I just can’t flaw it. Or maybe I don’t want to find flaws because the feel good factor of this show is so god damn high. This is a mandatory watch for all Asian drama lovers. I just can’t stop recommending it to everyone.

1) Yes sorta, but not kdrama level love triangle. It’s handled in a mature way so nothing toxic or annoying. 2) Nope. Not really. One of the best things about this show is how mature it is. The main leads communicate very well throughout the show. 3) And no. They do face some challenges but they manage it well.
This is probably one of the best jdrama in recent times. A must watch. Everything about it is so refreshing and real.

I actually liked Strong Woman Do Bong Soon....probably because it was mainly a rom-com show. The thriller aspect was very limited and not central to the plot. I think because the level of gore or dark elements Vincenzo presented....it did not go well with the slapstick, repetitive and flat landing humor (strictly according to me). But I understand, it can be subjective. If humor had to be incorporated I would've appreciated dark, sarcastic humor shown in movies like In Bruges. But then I also acknowledge that culturally every part of the world enjoys humor differently.
