The painter wakes up and sees RY is gone. He reads the story left by RY, he says he wants to go outside to see if some stories come true.
The painter meets a collapsed JL and gets her a doctor.
RY asks his injuries are so serious, how did he get better. He Shan says it was JL who treated him.
The painter is looking for RY and is waiting outside, he tells him about JL.
RY sees old JL.
Her neighbours are treating her like a monster, talking about her pregnancy at such a old age. RY finds out JL is pregnant and suddenly remembers the night where JL drugged him and they slept together.
RY leaves quickly to Wuhua mountain. He asks JL's master for help. JL's master feels RY's pulse and knows he has the pi pa zui in his body.
He Shan is guarding JL's house. JL stomach has become bigger.
JL's master searches her books for a solution.
RY is kneeling. He begs JL's master to save the mother and child, and he will do whatever she wants.
JL's master says JL is foolish, she threw away her life so that he could live. She says there is only one pi pa zui, even if she kills RY it won't make a difference.
JL's master asks RY if she can only save one (mother or child) who will he chose. RY says if he has HJL he can be childless. JL's master asks even if JL doesn't look young anymore. He tells her a story of a Astrologist (his father), how only divined for his wife (RY mother was a top martial artist), and became her personal protection talisman. RY says he will treat JL the same, no matter what she looks like he will stay with her until death. He says in Nan Jiang, JL was responsible for protecting the country while he was only responsible for protecting JL.
JL says she couldn't watch as RY died. JL's master says even if JL died, a man would remember her for a while but would he remember her for life. JL says it is good if he forgets her. Its good if he is happy, and even good if he likes someone else.
JL's master says she's foolish, JL admits it, and says you have to look forward in life.
JL ask her to save the baby. JL's master says the pi pa zui must have entered the baby that's why it was able to survive. JL's master scolds her for giving away the pi pa zui. She says the baby is a miracle, JL's master wants to transfer the pi pa zui from the baby to JL. She says, the baby will survive because it is already a miracle, and is no longer a normal person. JL's master ask JL to believe in her, she treats JL.
JL's master tries to make JL healthy for the birth.
JL gives birth, JL's master prevents RY from seeing JL.
JL's master takes JL and the baby away to teach them a lesson.
Four years later.
The emperor meets a child, (she's super cute and talks like Rong Yu when he was in his child like state). The child calls the emperor Uncle, the emperor says call him brother, the child calls him old brother.
The emperor asks what if he was a bad person and wants to kidnap her? The emperor gets drunk from the bug the child is raising.
The child runs to her mother, and bumps into RY. JL calls out the childs name Xiao Rong-er and sees RY.
JL turns to run away. RY asks, our child do you not want her anymore? Do you not want me anymore?
JL begs PCC to take the medicine quickly to RY. PCC takes the medicine back to the capital to RY, and just leaves JL on the road side.
Zhan Ping recognises the medicine which was described in JL's letter, he gives RY the medicine.
The story teller is talking about PCC who found a miracle medicine and saved RY, and also about PCC and her performance at the empress dowagers banquet.
RY is looking for JL, he ask Tan. Tan asks why is he looking for her when he left her before. RY thanks Tan for looking after JL in the past. Tan tells RY, JL had a hard life and only when JL sees him or talks about him will she experience a little sweetness. She doesn't know where JL is but Tan says JL would never abandon RY, and something must have happened to JL. Tan asks RY to keep looking for JL until he finds her. She asks him not to fall in love with other people (she seems to have heard about PCC from the story teller).
RY pays respects at his Uncle's grave and also at He family graves. RY sees the fresh offerings and looks for JL, passing her on the road.
Zhan Ping says he can't find JL and can't find any evidence of the lady who gave PCC the medicine. RY tells ZP to stop the search for JL. RY says her and I have reacheda end, he says he was foolish (for looking for her).
He finds a paper rabbit and thinks of the past.
JL is making lanterns for the festival. The kid wants to be a disciple at the Astrology Hall, JL helps him write his feelings of respect to the teacher.
RY is accepting disciples, PCC barges in, she pretends to fall on RY but He Shan catches her. She knocks over the kids offerings.
PCC is being rude to the kid, and tries to drag RY away. PCC is delusional, she thinks RY apologized to the kid for her, because RY and her are like family now.
JL's condition is getting worse, she starts looking older.
RY and the emperor watch the fireworks. Jia Lin is stable and peaceful. RY wants to return the jade pendant to the emperor. The emperor gave it to JL to set a marriage with her future daughter.
The emperor asks RY if he lost JL, and how could he lose such a good girl. The emperor doesn't know where she is or if she is living well. He wonders if JL is also watching the fireworks. PCC arrives. The emperor says JL left so that RY can start again. He says if RY can be with PCC then that is a good thing. He tells RY to show PCC the lanterns.
RY and PCC are walking around the festival, RY is reminded of JL everywhere. PCC asks RY who is he waiting for. RY is not taking any of PCC's gifts. PCC apologizes for her past behaviour when she first found out about his illness, she says any normal girl would have done the same.
RY says he understands. PCC says she will treat RY well in the future. RY says PCC likes the master of the Astrology Hall, the person who receives praise from the emperor not RY. PCC asks what is he talking about and what is the difference. RY says the person (child like RY) who can't do anything is also RY. He says, you said all normal girls would behave the same, this is not true, there was a girl who liked RY even when I was a fool and told RY no matter when, RY is the best RY.
PCC guesses that, that person is JL. PCC says she can treat him like how she (JL) did. She says she understands now and if she had a chance again she definitely would treat him as well as JL. RY asks PCC even if she knew it meant death, would she die together with him.
PCC says yes JL is indeed one in 10000, but she left and doesn't want RY anymore. She says RY also stopped searching for JL so he doesn't want her either.
RY remembers the day JL gave him the wine with poison, he seemed to know something was wrong with the wine. But, he asks JL if she wanted him to drink it, she said yes, so he drank it. RY will always do his best to fulfil JL's wish. (I think, RY thinks JL doesn't want to be found so he stopped looking for her). PCC leaves.
JL is eating a bowl of noodles it's at the same table as in the past. Some guys are trying to beat up a cat for stealing fish. JL stops it and pays them money for the fish.
The cat stops at RY's feet, RY recognises the cat (from the gambling episode). There is a urban legend about a top martial artist carrying a cat.
RY wants to walk alone, He Shan says RY is forcing himself to live. RY sees a cute bunny lantern and goes to find the stall. He meets JL selling the bunny lanterns, he doesn't recognise her. He asks the cost of the lantern, and asks if she's ill. He exchanges the bunny lantern for one of his bunny shaped money. JL is scared of being recognised. RY leaves.
RY meets the painter, the painter recognises RY, the cat belongs to the painter. The painter shows RY the painting of JL and him. The painter knows RY and JL divorced and has heard about PCC. The painter says the girl in the painting was protecting RY even when her arms were hurt. The painter asks how can RY bear to separate from JL. RY touches the JL in the painting and asks, yes this person, how can she bear to separate. RY says he is happy today after seeing the painting. RY wants a pen to write a story, to rewrite his and JL's story.
JL tells Yin Xiao to retreat or he will be trapped and become a prisoner of war for life. Yin Xiao laughs.
Yin Xiao says since they have retaken Wutu, then he no longer wants Nan Jiang, but someone needs to pay the price. Before he returns to Xunnan, he will kill someone to appease the ghosts of the dead Xunnan soldiers.
He drags RY out. JL and her soldiers recognise RY. JL's soldiers want to rush over to save RY but JL tells them to come back, they need to protect Nan Jiang.
Yin Xiao says he will kill the person who JL doesn't want to lose the most.
RY starts talking and mentions the Astrology Halls crime of treason, RY wants to use his life to atone, he has already decided to use his blood for the country. He spits up blood, because he's already ate poison. He says don't be sad for RY, he didn't die in the hands of others but for Jia Lin.
Yin Xiao drags RY by horse. JL: nooooooooo. JL rides out alone to retrieve RY. She kills a bunch of enemies but eventually she is overwhelmed. (Cheng Bi dies, I see a purple clothed corpse)
Yin Xiao aims a arrow at her, he thinks of the past and is unable to go through with it and puts down the bow. He remembers when he left the mountain, he said he wanted to become the strongest person to protect the people that are important to him. Young JL says he is fine as he is now.
Yin Xiao orders his people to stop what they are doing.
RY is awake and calls JL.
Yin Xiao asks if a dead person (RY) is worth her life. JL says if he (RY) lives, I can die. If he dies, then I will definitely die together with him. Even if he is a corpse I will take him home.
Yin Xiao laughs. (He says some famous lines) If we can't live together, then we will die together. He asks (another famous line), basically he says if it is like this now (JL loves RY), then why did you do that in the past (poison RY).
Yin Xiao cuts the rope to RY. JL crawls to RY. JL thinks RY is dead and tells him she will bring him home and tries to pick him up.
RY tries to apologize to JL regarding He family matters. JL says she doesn't blame RY, she asks if he can hear her.
Jia Lin win, I think it took two months.
JL brings all her recovery medicines to treat RY, but the doctor says the poison has been in him too long. Even if they force the poison out they can't heal the damage already done to his body. Even the best medicines can't help. JL asks how long RY can last. The doctor says even with the best medicine he can last only for ten days.
JL rushes to take RY home. She thinks of the pi pa zui medicine in her body, and its recovery properties.
JL invited RY's Uncle back to Rong manor to take care of RY because he's seriously injured, like old times. He tells JL she is Rong family's calamity and it's her fault. RY's Uncle finally realises its all his fault (RY's situation) and it would be less painful if he was killed. He ask JL to kill him. JL says she killed all the people who plotted against her He Family but she can't kill him. After she dies, she will ask for forgiveness from her family for not killing him.
JL left a letter, she tells Zhan Ping she has left to pick medicine, she will be back in five days and they have to wait for her.
JL moves to a remote house somewhere. She takes out all of her apothecary instruments.
Yin Xiao is alone in Xunnan. His master comes to visit to return the talisman that allows her to enter the palace. She tells him she will no longer visit Xunnan. She says in the ten years he was with her she never taught him how to let go. She says when his mother came to her to be her disciple, she wanted him to escape the bloody race for the throne and live more happily than his brothers, on the mountain. But he (Yin Xiao) didn't understand his mother's intentions. She asks if he is happy now, that he is enemies with his little sister.
JL remembers the past, she tells her master she doesn't want to learn how to take out the medicinal worm(? seems like the pi pa zui is some kind of worm?). You need to poison the bones and let the blood out, not being able to eat or drink for days, this is the way to make the medicinal worm come out. She asks how is a person supposed to live after that. Her master says they probably can't live. Her master has not tried it before. She says that during the process the person can't be disturbed.
The story teller is telling a story about the courage of the masked General.
The new emperor receives a letter, and JL tells him to take the credit for the deeds of the masked general. She believes it will strengthen his position. She tells him she is leaving. She hopes she didn't disappoint her He family.
Yin Xiao, is alone in his palace and decides to take the amnesia potion to forget everything.
RY's Uncle is taking care of RY at his bedside. He recounts this, has happened three time. The first time he was quite optimistic RY would be fine. The second time, when he was burned he could no longer stay with him all night (because he's getting old). This is the third time, he feels he won't able able to look after him in the future. Now they are enemies....he says their fate is finished. RY's Uncle dies.
JL has made the pi pa zui come out of her body. She tries to get back to RY as quickly as possible, time is running out.
Old lady JL meets Princess Chu Chu who is leaving the capital because its cold. JL begs PCC to take the medicine back to RY. PCC is really a bad egg, treating a old person like this. PCC thinks JL is trying to con her because she's rich, by pretending to fall in front of her carriage. JL finally persuades PCC to take the medicine back to RY, she suggests it may help her get together with RY if PCC saves him.
RY will be going together with the emperor and JL. She tries to arrange it so RY is in a safer place, she says its an order but RY says he's not one of her soldiers and refuses.
He Shan is back, he will accompany RY with Zhan Ping.
In March, they recovered four cities. JL describes one of her battles (I guess they don't have the budget to film all the battles). She is winning.
Yin Xiao is getting drunk, he is losing. He asks Cheng Bi why JL likes RY. Cheng Bi doesn't know why and tries to persuade Yin Xiao to return home to Xunnan. Yin Xiao is baffled why JL would like a fool. Yin Xiao says he lost against a fool (RY). CB says they can't win. He's not giving up, wow he is really going to war so he can take JL with him. He tells CB that he is her master not JL. CB says there is something weird with RY, that he can divine without the star chart.
The new emperor asks JL what she wants after the battle. She wants to go to Nan Jiang and open a small inn. The new emperor says if she really leaves the capital then her and RY are really over. He ask won't you miss him. JL says if she works hard then she can definitely forget him.
RY gets kidnapped by JL's master. JL is panicked. . JL's master is quite funny. She thinks RY is still JL's husband and tells him to follow her from now on. RY finally realises she is JL's master. She tells him he is Wuhua mountains person now not the Astrology Hall. RY has no chance to tell her they are no longer married. She doesn't like the way he talks and scolds him.
RY gets scolded again, she says at this rate it would take three months to get to Wuhua mountain. JL's master notices RY is cold and give him her precious recovery pill. She asks if he's made from paper. lol she wants to take back the pill. She says she will get JL to repay her for the pill. RY coughs.
JL catches up with them. JL's master scolds JL for marrying someone from the Astrology Hall and even chose the worst one. JL tells her they already divorced.
JL's master has been wandering around but knows about the He family. She is pained to see her and her senior brother fighting. JL's master wanted to make a miracle drug for JL just in case, but she remembers that the most precious medicine from Wuhua mountain is already in JL's body.
JL has a weird childhood illness, 10 years for normal people is like a lifetime for JL. (her illness seems to be accelerated aging). Five years ago everyone thought JL was cured, but that is not the case. JL has a medicine in her body pi pa zui, that helps her recover from illness and injury. JL ask why she didn't teach her how to make it. JL's master says it is not possible to make another one, JL has the only one.
JL has won another battle. JL's master scolds RY again for drinking tea while JL is on the battlefield. She ask why doesn't he care about JL. RY says that she will win.
JL returns, and they go celebrate. JL gets drunk. She follows the sound of the zither. She sees RY's burn on his hand and ask if it hurts, she refers to herself as wife and tries to kiss it to make it better. RY tells her, she's drunk. 'Drunk' and the 'most' sound the same.
She asks her husband for a hug. She says she likes RY the most, when he couldn't talk she likes him, when he was foolish she likes him, when he sits and smiles at her she likes him, when he runs towards her she likes him. When he sticks to me and when he gives me chestnuts. She recalls that RY said wife in this lifetime I will only listen to you. But she lost him, and he won't come back. She says she didn't want to burn down the Astrology Hall and star chart. But she had to do it, and it was difficult for her. She calls RY, husband and tells him she misses him a lot. RY says he knows, that she had to burn down the Astrology Hall. She tells him she's in a lot of pain. RY kisses JL on the forehead and JL's master sees as she is leaving.
They talk battle strategies, this will be a life and death battle.
JL will stay and protect Nan Jiang.
Yin Xiao asks JL to put down their swords and talk. JL refuses. Yin Xiao asks if it has to be like this between them, JL says yes, the moment he attacked Jia Lin it became like this between them. He can never be her senior brother now. He asks JL why she is still fighting for Jia Lin after they killed her family.
JL aims a arrow at Yin Xiao. They fight.
Zhan Ping finds a injured Cheng Bi in the street and brings her to where RY is. RY sends He Shan to find a doctor. Cheng Bi suddenly attacks Zhan Ping. RY rushes to take poison before being captured.
The new emperor pretends to be a fool. It's out in the open now the Regent killed the He family. The Regent says the new emperor is ill, and should stay in the palace like a bird in a cage.
JL asks RY if she is not his fated one, then why after so many twists and turns she still married him, fell in love with him. She asks is this not fate? She says she can't see a future with anyone else. She says every time he ran towards her, can he let her run towards him this time. She says she will not give just anyone a second chance but she is willing to give RY thousands of chances. JL says she has already run in front of him, if he still likes her, then all he needs to do is reach out his hand and she will give her whole heart and her entire lifetime to him.
RY says what if I no longer like you. JL asks then why did you rescue me from the fire. RY says he would have saved anyone from the Astrology Hall. JL asks why RY got rid of everyone who would harm her. He says he just helped get rid of some bad people. He apologises for causing her to misunderstand (that he still likes her).
RY asks JL why would she think he would still like her after she burned down the Astrology Hall. (sigh...RY was obviously was not bothered by it) Now Zhan Ping also hates JL for burning down the Astrology Hall, he thought she was helping put out the fire.
Song Min returns to Jia Lin, and asks his father (the Regent) to save his sister who is still in Xunnan. The Regent refuses to send the army to rescue just one person.
Zhan Ping packs up JL's belongings and asks her to take them away or they will be thrown out. JL starts to vomit. Zhan Ping thinks she's pretending and tells her to leave. Zhan Ping keeps scolding JL.
JL tells ZP to tell RY to take care and she won't bother him anymore.
JL meets Song Min. Song Min asks JL to help his sister. JL says she will write a letter to Yin Xiao to ask about it but that's all she will do. Song Min apologizes for bullying JL. Song Min doesn't know what his father did to the He family. Song Min says JL has become a lot like RY, she is now able to sit with a person who she doesn't like, not like in the past. He ask to be friends with JL. JL says they will never be friends.
Princess Xie Lan finds out the new emperor is under house arrest and asks JL for help.
Song Min finds out his father is responsible for the death of the He family. The Regent wants Song Min to take the throne.
JL goes around recruiting the secret guards to free the new emperor.
RY sees a disturbance in the stars and goes to meet General Yan.
JL and the new emperor are surrounded, the Regent aims a arrow at JL. Song Min begs JL to put down her sword and he will ask his father to let her live, he jumps in front of JL and takes the arrow. Before Song Min dies, he apologizes for not being able to help the He family, he says they could have been good friend and he likes her.
The Regent gets sent to prison. JL gets rewarded for protecting Jia Lin, the status of her dead family are elevated.
RY is preparing to chose the next master of the Astrology Hall.
Reports are coming in that Xunnan is attacking Jia Lin near Nan Jiang. Jia Lin is losing battle after battle.
JL doesn't believe her Senior brother is attacking Jia Lin and wants to look for him. Tan holds her back.
JL offers to go to Nan Jiang and fight, the other officials disagree.
RY says there is only one in ten chance JL will be successful. But if JL doesn't go and they retreat then it will be a complete defeat. RY convinces the officials to let JL lead the army to Nan Jiang.
JL is about to be killed and buried in the forest. She's kicked all over. Zhan Ping and RY arrive just in time. JL sees RY and passes out.
RY returns to Rong manor and is cold towards his Uncle, he tells him he knows, knows what he did to He family. RY tells his Uncle that out of personal revenge he killed a good family, RY says he doesn't feel happy at what his Uncle did. RY is not happy about his Uncle supporting wolves (the Regent) and messing with court stuff. He says this is not the path of the Astrology Hall and how could he (Uncle) do this kind of thing. RY's Uncle says he's already gone this far and he can't turn back (he's not going to stop what he is doing). Uncle says he never wanted RY to find out, and he wanted RY to stay pure and innocent. But since he (RY) knows now, it is fate, and what does RY want to do. Does RY want him to die for his sins. I think RY says treason deserves death. Uncle says he doesn't have a wife or kids, he spent his whole life and effort to raise RY. He taught him, how to read, astrology, and he didn't give up on RY in the past five years. Uncle says now RY wants him to die over a women, and become enemies with him. Uncle says JL burned the Astrology Hall and the star chart.
RY says the Astrology Hall and star chart got burned because of Uncle. And even now you think the problem is only because of a women. (Uncle is digging his heels in and not admitting his wrong doing, not showing remorse). RY asks Uncle if he doesn't feel even a little be of remorse/regret. Uncle says no, he will never forgive JL, that she destroyed everything.
RY's Uncle says if RY wants to kill him then go ahead. RY says Uncle is a very important person to him and he has always treated him like a father. RY says Uncle killed his heart. RY says he can't kill him, but he can't pretend nothing happened.
RY is using his right as the true successor of the Astrology Hall to remove Uncle from his position as the master of the Astrology Hall. RY takes back the Astrology Hall. He tells Uncle he is no longer the master of the Astrology Hall and he is no longer a astrologist of the Astrology Hall. RY wants to sends Uncle away from the capital, and tells him this will be the last time they will see each other (goodbye forever).
RY says since he treated Uncle as a father, then they have a father-son relationship and the son should pay for the fathers sins. The He family debt and all the people that Uncle killed and hurt, RY will take responsibility. RY thinks he also deserves death and will admit to his crimes (Uncles crimes) once he returns the Astrology hall to the correct path. (excellent acting here, I wish we got to see more of RY's Uncle earlier).
JL is being treated for her injuries.
RY's Uncle gets banished, he's still blaming everything on JL.
The Regents meets RY, and knows he has recovered, and the master of Rong family has changed. RY tells the Regent his Uncle is ill. RY tells the Regent that he has evidence that JL had nothing to do with the fire. (the Regent knows RY will not help him with divination like Uncle did)
The Regent is told the people he sent to deal with JL have been killed.
JL goes to meet RY. RY tells her the people who want to kill her have been punished and she has nothing to worry about in the future.
JL asks if RY has recovered completely, and if his injuries (from the fire) still hurt. She notices RY bandaged hand. RY says it only looks serious. JL asks if anyone else was injured in the Astrology Hall. RY says no.
JL says only RY was foolish enough (to rush into the fire to save her). JL says she is not worth it. JL was scared that RY wouldn't wake up after the fire, when she closes her eyes its all she sees. JL says she thought she was dreaming when she saw him (when RY rescued her from being killed in the forest). But when she woke up, there was only Zhan Ping and he told her to wait until RY found and punished those people.
JL says its not important if those people are punished or if her injuries have healed. She talks about the time when they looked at the shooting stars, and her wish for RY to live happily and peacefully, live too 100 years old.
JL says once RY has recovered completely, she wants to tell him a lot of things. JL says she has thought things through and has let a lot of things go (her revenge against RY's Uncle). She only wants RY to live well, everything else is not important. She says if RY likes looking at stars, then she will spend a lifetime looking at stars with him. If RY thinks the Astrology Hall is the most important then she will restart it with him together and spend a lifetime protecting it.
RY says you seem to have forgotten that we are already divorced, on the night of the banquet and we no longer have any connection to each other. JL says you still remember the divorce, shouldn't we forget about it. RY says what has already happened can't be changed. RY tells her to recover her injuries in Rong manor. He's going to live at the Astrology Hall. RY tells her once she is recovered she can go anywhere she wants, to Nan Jiang or to Xunnan is okay. JL asks him if he really wants her to leave. RY says once she leaves here, everything will get better, and everything can restart anew.
JL asks RY if he has forgotten everything again because of the medicine she gave him. RY says, no he remembers everything, the night she went to Nan Jiang, she told him to forget about her and he remembers all the wrongs from then on.
JL asks him if he thinks everything they had is wrong (their married life). RY doesn't answer her and leaves.
JL dismisses Cheng Bi and tells her to go back home to Xunnan, with a final letter to her senior brother, and to also tell him she's sorry. CB asks JL to come back to Xunnan with her but JL refuses because Jia Lin is her home.
The new emperor visits JL at Tan's house. He is just checking on JL (not giving her a new mission).
Song Min (SM) is in Xunnan, he wants to take his sister Song Lin back to Jia Lin. She is being mistreated and is ill after the marriage alliance. Yin Xiao refuses.
Tan is glad to hear JL is not being sent on another mission in her condition. Tan tells JL to return to Rong manor. Tan asks JL why she has to hide her love for RY, that she should be brave and try to hold on to him. JL says she doesn't have the right to tell RY she likes him after all the bad things she's done. Tan thinks RY left JL because he thinks JL was forced into marriage. And RY is only thinking of JL.
JL says if the now recovered RY still likes her, then she will stay by his side, but the way RY looks at her now is full of pain.....
The Astrology Hall is accepting disciples. The kids ask RY about the burn on his hand and will it leave a scar. RY says outside appearance is not important. One kid says he likes the good looking RY. Another kid says he's superficial, and RY was very brave saving people from the fire. The kids worry about the state of the Astrology Hall after RY's Uncle left.
JL crashes the class held for the new disciples.
The Regent puts the new emperor under house arrest.
JL asks RY, if it is true that Astrologist can not divine their own destiny (calamities or fortune). Zhan Ping thinks JL went to send Cheng Bi back to Xunnan.
RY says that's correct, but JL says that's not right. She says for other things it maybe true but for marriage which involves two people, even if the astrologist can't see his own marriage fate, he can see the fate of his other half. She wants RY to see her marriage fate to see if it is good or bad. RY is unwilling to do the divination.
JL starts doing the divination herself. She gives herself and RY a good marriage fate, she says even with all the twists and turns everything turns out beautifully and they are a match made by heaven.
RY tells her this divination is probably for another person, and he announces his divorce to the world and he is not her fated one.
Jiu Ling is making plans to burn down the Astrology Hall, and destroy the star chart. They want to destroy the star chart so that RY's Uncle can't continue to help the Regent. JL asks the new emperor to think of a excuse to remove most of the astrologist from the Astrology Hall for one hour. The new emperor will ask the astrologists to attend the Empress Dowagers banquet.
RY is writing the divorce papers. Princess Chu Chu (PCC) arrives causing a fuss because she just found out about RY's illness (his child like state). PCC demands RY come out and see her. She tells him she can't play the pipa well and she no longer wants to do the collaboration with RY at the Empress Dowagers banquet.
She wants RY to tell Lord Li that the collaboration is cancelled, basically she's putting the responsibility and blame on RY for cancelling the event. RY doesn't bother speaking to PCC. PCC gets angry and tries to whip RY.
JL catches the whip before it hurts RY. She says she's not afraid of PCC. JL says the whip is just a plaything to her. RY sees that JL has hurt her hand catching the whip. PCC says she's heard about JL (about the death of her family), and she pities her so she will return her husband and not take him.
PCC says RY has mental problems and he still wants to do the event with her. JL tells her RY can do it and will show everyone he's fine. She ask PCC to leave. PCC is being really rude and pushing all the blame on RY, and tells them to handle the banquet event however they want but don't use her as a shield (excuse).
JL says they will continue with the event. She asks RY to do the event together before they divorce.
PCC arrives at the banquet and finds out the event with RY hasn't been cancelled and gets nervous. The empress asks PCC if she has bullied JL and RY, PCC admits to it. The empress is looking forward to PCC and RY's event. PCC sneaks away from the banquet because she doesn't want to be embarrassed at the performance because she has no talents.
RY gives the divorce papers to JL, they are now divorced. JL says she doesn't regret meeting RY or becoming his wife. She tells him to look after himself since he just recovered, to eat well to sleep well, and don't ..... don't make Zhan Ping worry. JL wears a mask for her sword dance with RY. Everyone at the banquet thinks the one in the mask is PCC and praises her.
After the performance JL leaves quickly to burn down the Astrology Hall. What she doesn't know is that RY also leaves immediately.
The secret guards set fire to the Astrology Hall. JL goes to the Astrology Hall and still using her status as RY's wife tells the guards, outside where the star chart is kept to go help put out the fire. She enters the room with the star chart and burns it down. But she cant get out quickly enough before the fire spreads and she collapses.
RY is outside, he is not too bothered about the star chart burning as long as everyone is okay. RY sees Cheng Bi, wanting to rush into the burning room and realises that JL is inside. He rushes in and carries JL out. RY collapses, his hand is burnt and he's not waking up. JL thinks she's killed RY.
RY's Uncle thinks he let a wolf (JL) into Rong family. He captures JL, put her in prison and tortures her.
RY's Uncle and the Regent are talking at the bedside of the comatose RY. The Regent asks for a divination. RY's Uncle can't divine without the star chart. RY's Uncle wants to kill JL, he knows JL burned downed the Astrology Hall. RY's Uncle guesses JL knows he killed her entire family, he wishes that he killed her earlier. RY is hearing all of this. RY's Uncle is describing how he wants JL to die, ie cut to pieces
JL is dragged out to the forest to be killed and buried. RY wakes up and rushes out to find JL.
I watched the last six episodes plus the extra and surprisingly I really loved them, although the extra did feel rushed and a bit too fantasy-like.
I got what I wanted to see which was Jiu Ling confessing her love to Rong Yu, she did it in words and in action, I feel satisfied.
Episode 26 was also quite beautiful with the flashbacks to the day of the poisoning. The theme of destiny and choices continue, letting go, starting anew or holding on.
I think once everyone watches with the English subs, they will like these final episodes more. I actually think the script writer is pretty good and I really like the dialogue between characters. The ending to RY's Uncle was also done very well.
One of the men who JL beat up yesterday approaches her. He was one of the men who captured the He family and fought…
I think men can marry into the wife's family and take her name. It's called ruzhui. But it's not seen as something most men would do unless the wife's family is very rich and she is the only child.

The painter meets a collapsed JL and gets her a doctor.
RY asks his injuries are so serious, how did he get better. He Shan says it was JL who treated him.
The painter is looking for RY and is waiting outside, he tells him about JL.
RY sees old JL.
Her neighbours are treating her like a monster, talking about her pregnancy at such a old age. RY finds out JL is pregnant and suddenly remembers the night where JL drugged him and they slept together.
RY leaves quickly to Wuhua mountain. He asks JL's master for help. JL's master feels RY's pulse and knows he has the pi pa zui in his body.
He Shan is guarding JL's house. JL stomach has become bigger.
JL's master searches her books for a solution.
RY is kneeling. He begs JL's master to save the mother and child, and he will do whatever she wants.
JL's master says JL is foolish, she threw away her life so that he could live. She says there is only one pi pa zui, even if she kills RY it won't make a difference.
JL's master asks RY if she can only save one (mother or child) who will he chose. RY says if he has HJL he can be childless. JL's master asks even if JL doesn't look young anymore. He tells her a story of a Astrologist (his father), how only divined for his wife (RY mother was a top martial artist), and became her personal protection talisman. RY says he will treat JL the same, no matter what she looks like he will stay with her until death. He says in Nan Jiang, JL was responsible for protecting the country while he was only responsible for protecting JL.
JL says she couldn't watch as RY died. JL's master says even if JL died, a man would remember her for a while but would he remember her for life. JL says it is good if he forgets her. Its good if he is happy, and even good if he likes someone else.
JL's master says she's foolish, JL admits it, and says you have to look forward in life.
JL ask her to save the baby. JL's master says the pi pa zui must have entered the baby that's why it was able to survive. JL's master scolds her for giving away the pi pa zui. She says the baby is a miracle, JL's master wants to transfer the pi pa zui from the baby to JL. She says, the baby will survive because it is already a miracle, and is no longer a normal person. JL's master ask JL to believe in her, she treats JL.
JL's master tries to make JL healthy for the birth.
JL gives birth, JL's master prevents RY from seeing JL.
JL's master takes JL and the baby away to teach them a lesson.
Four years later.
The emperor meets a child, (she's super cute and talks like Rong Yu when he was in his child like state). The child calls the emperor Uncle, the emperor says call him brother, the child calls him old brother.
The emperor asks what if he was a bad person and wants to kidnap her? The emperor gets drunk from the bug the child is raising.
The child runs to her mother, and bumps into RY. JL calls out the childs name Xiao Rong-er and sees RY.
JL turns to run away. RY asks, our child do you not want her anymore? Do you not want me anymore?
JL turns around and smiles and the three reunite.
Zhan Ping recognises the medicine which was described in JL's letter, he gives RY the medicine.
The story teller is talking about PCC who found a miracle medicine and saved RY, and also about PCC and her performance at the empress dowagers banquet.
RY is looking for JL, he ask Tan. Tan asks why is he looking for her when he left her before. RY thanks Tan for looking after JL in the past. Tan tells RY, JL had a hard life and only when JL sees him or talks about him will she experience a little sweetness. She doesn't know where JL is but Tan says JL would never abandon RY, and something must have happened to JL. Tan asks RY to keep looking for JL until he finds her. She asks him not to fall in love with other people (she seems to have heard about PCC from the story teller).
RY pays respects at his Uncle's grave and also at He family graves. RY sees the fresh offerings and looks for JL, passing her on the road.
Zhan Ping says he can't find JL and can't find any evidence of the lady who gave PCC the medicine. RY tells ZP to stop the search for JL. RY says her and I have reacheda end, he says he was foolish (for looking for her).
He finds a paper rabbit and thinks of the past.
JL is making lanterns for the festival. The kid wants to be a disciple at the Astrology Hall, JL helps him write his feelings of respect to the teacher.
RY is accepting disciples, PCC barges in, she pretends to fall on RY but He Shan catches her. She knocks over the kids offerings.
PCC is being rude to the kid, and tries to drag RY away. PCC is delusional, she thinks RY apologized to the kid for her, because RY and her are like family now.
JL's condition is getting worse, she starts looking older.
RY and the emperor watch the fireworks. Jia Lin is stable and peaceful. RY wants to return the jade pendant to the emperor. The emperor gave it to JL to set a marriage with her future daughter.
The emperor asks RY if he lost JL, and how could he lose such a good girl. The emperor doesn't know where she is or if she is living well. He wonders if JL is also watching the fireworks. PCC arrives. The emperor says JL left so that RY can start again. He says if RY can be with PCC then that is a good thing. He tells RY to show PCC the lanterns.
RY and PCC are walking around the festival, RY is reminded of JL everywhere. PCC asks RY who is he waiting for. RY is not taking any of PCC's gifts. PCC apologizes for her past behaviour when she first found out about his illness, she says any normal girl would have done the same.
RY says he understands. PCC says she will treat RY well in the future. RY says PCC likes the master of the Astrology Hall, the person who receives praise from the emperor not RY. PCC asks what is he talking about and what is the difference. RY says the person (child like RY) who can't do anything is also RY. He says, you said all normal girls would behave the same, this is not true, there was a girl who liked RY even when I was a fool and told RY no matter when, RY is the best RY.
PCC guesses that, that person is JL. PCC says she can treat him like how she (JL) did. She says she understands now and if she had a chance again she definitely would treat him as well as JL. RY asks PCC even if she knew it meant death, would she die together with him.
PCC says yes JL is indeed one in 10000, but she left and doesn't want RY anymore. She says RY also stopped searching for JL so he doesn't want her either.
RY remembers the day JL gave him the wine with poison, he seemed to know something was wrong with the wine. But, he asks JL if she wanted him to drink it, she said yes, so he drank it. RY will always do his best to fulfil JL's wish. (I think, RY thinks JL doesn't want to be found so he stopped looking for her). PCC leaves.
JL is eating a bowl of noodles it's at the same table as in the past. Some guys are trying to beat up a cat for stealing fish. JL stops it and pays them money for the fish.
The cat stops at RY's feet, RY recognises the cat (from the gambling episode). There is a urban legend about a top martial artist carrying a cat.
RY wants to walk alone, He Shan says RY is forcing himself to live. RY sees a cute bunny lantern and goes to find the stall. He meets JL selling the bunny lanterns, he doesn't recognise her. He asks the cost of the lantern, and asks if she's ill. He exchanges the bunny lantern for one of his bunny shaped money. JL is scared of being recognised. RY leaves.
RY meets the painter, the painter recognises RY, the cat belongs to the painter. The painter shows RY the painting of JL and him. The painter knows RY and JL divorced and has heard about PCC. The painter says the girl in the painting was protecting RY even when her arms were hurt. The painter asks how can RY bear to separate from JL. RY touches the JL in the painting and asks, yes this person, how can she bear to separate. RY says he is happy today after seeing the painting. RY wants a pen to write a story, to rewrite his and JL's story.
Yin Xiao says since they have retaken Wutu, then he no longer wants Nan Jiang, but someone needs to pay the price. Before he returns to Xunnan, he will kill someone to appease the ghosts of the dead Xunnan soldiers.
He drags RY out. JL and her soldiers recognise RY. JL's soldiers want to rush over to save RY but JL tells them to come back, they need to protect Nan Jiang.
Yin Xiao says he will kill the person who JL doesn't want to lose the most.
RY starts talking and mentions the Astrology Halls crime of treason, RY wants to use his life to atone, he has already decided to use his blood for the country. He spits up blood, because he's already ate poison. He says don't be sad for RY, he didn't die in the hands of others but for Jia Lin.
Yin Xiao drags RY by horse. JL: nooooooooo. JL rides out alone to retrieve RY. She kills a bunch of enemies but eventually she is overwhelmed. (Cheng Bi dies, I see a purple clothed corpse)
Yin Xiao aims a arrow at her, he thinks of the past and is unable to go through with it and puts down the bow.
He remembers when he left the mountain, he said he wanted to become the strongest person to protect the people that are important to him. Young JL says he is fine as he is now.
Yin Xiao orders his people to stop what they are doing.
RY is awake and calls JL.
Yin Xiao asks if a dead person (RY) is worth her life. JL says if he (RY) lives, I can die. If he dies, then I will definitely die together with him. Even if he is a corpse I will take him home.
Yin Xiao laughs. (He says some famous lines) If we can't live together, then we will die together. He asks (another famous line), basically he says if it is like this now (JL loves RY), then why did you do that in the past (poison RY).
Yin Xiao cuts the rope to RY. JL crawls to RY. JL thinks RY is dead and tells him she will bring him home and tries to pick him up.
RY tries to apologize to JL regarding He family matters. JL says she doesn't blame RY, she asks if he can hear her.
Jia Lin win, I think it took two months.
JL brings all her recovery medicines to treat RY, but the doctor says the poison has been in him too long. Even if they force the poison out they can't heal the damage already done to his body. Even the best medicines can't help. JL asks how long RY can last. The doctor says even with the best medicine he can last only for ten days.
JL rushes to take RY home. She thinks of the pi pa zui medicine in her body, and its recovery properties.
JL invited RY's Uncle back to Rong manor to take care of RY because he's seriously injured, like old times. He tells JL she is Rong family's calamity and it's her fault. RY's Uncle finally realises its all his fault (RY's situation) and it would be less painful if he was killed. He ask JL to kill him. JL says she killed all the people who plotted against her He Family but she can't kill him. After she dies, she will ask for forgiveness from her family for not killing him.
JL left a letter, she tells Zhan Ping she has left to pick medicine, she will be back in five days and they have to wait for her.
JL moves to a remote house somewhere. She takes out all of her apothecary instruments.
Yin Xiao is alone in Xunnan. His master comes to visit to return the talisman that allows her to enter the palace. She tells him she will no longer visit Xunnan. She says in the ten years he was with her she never taught him how to let go. She says when his mother came to her to be her disciple, she wanted him to escape the bloody race for the throne and live more happily than his brothers, on the mountain. But he (Yin Xiao) didn't understand his mother's intentions. She asks if he is happy now, that he is enemies with his little sister.
JL remembers the past, she tells her master she doesn't want to learn how to take out the medicinal worm(? seems like the pi pa zui is some kind of worm?). You need to poison the bones and let the blood out, not being able to eat or drink for days, this is the way to make the medicinal worm come out. She asks how is a person supposed to live after that. Her master says they probably can't live. Her master has not tried it before. She says that during the process the person can't be disturbed.
The story teller is telling a story about the courage of the masked General.
The new emperor receives a letter, and JL tells him to take the credit for the deeds of the masked general. She believes it will strengthen his position. She tells him she is leaving. She hopes she didn't disappoint her He family.
Yin Xiao, is alone in his palace and decides to take the amnesia potion to forget everything.
RY's Uncle is taking care of RY at his bedside. He recounts this, has happened three time. The first time he was quite optimistic RY would be fine. The second time, when he was burned he could no longer stay with him all night (because he's getting old). This is the third time, he feels he won't able able to look after him in the future. Now they are enemies....he says their fate is finished. RY's Uncle dies.
JL has made the pi pa zui come out of her body. She tries to get back to RY as quickly as possible, time is running out.
Old lady JL meets Princess Chu Chu who is leaving the capital because its cold.
JL begs PCC to take the medicine back to RY. PCC is really a bad egg, treating a old person like this. PCC thinks JL is trying to con her because she's rich, by pretending to fall in front of her carriage. JL finally persuades PCC to take the medicine back to RY, she suggests it may help her get together with RY if PCC saves him.
He Shan is back, he will accompany RY with Zhan Ping.
In March, they recovered four cities. JL describes one of her battles (I guess they don't have the budget to film all the battles). She is winning.
Yin Xiao is getting drunk, he is losing. He asks Cheng Bi why JL likes RY. Cheng Bi doesn't know why and tries to persuade Yin Xiao to return home to Xunnan. Yin Xiao is baffled why JL would like a fool. Yin Xiao says he lost against a fool (RY). CB says they can't win. He's not giving up, wow he is really going to war so he can take JL with him. He tells CB that he is her master not JL. CB says there is something weird with RY, that he can divine without the star chart.
The new emperor asks JL what she wants after the battle. She wants to go to Nan Jiang and open a small inn. The new emperor says if she really leaves the capital then her and RY are really over. He ask won't you miss him. JL says if she works hard then she can definitely forget him.
RY gets kidnapped by JL's master. JL is panicked.

JL's master is quite funny. She thinks RY is still JL's husband and tells him to follow her from now on. RY finally realises she is JL's master. She tells him he is Wuhua mountains person now not the Astrology Hall. RY has no chance to tell her they are no longer married. She doesn't like the way he talks and scolds him.
RY gets scolded again, she says at this rate it would take three months to get to Wuhua mountain. JL's master notices RY is cold and give him her precious recovery pill. She asks if he's made from paper. lol she wants to take back the pill. She says she will get JL to repay her for the pill. RY coughs.
JL catches up with them. JL's master scolds JL for marrying someone from the Astrology Hall and even chose the worst one. JL tells her they already divorced.
JL's master has been wandering around but knows about the He family. She is pained to see her and her senior brother fighting. JL's master wanted to make a miracle drug for JL just in case, but she remembers that the most precious medicine from Wuhua mountain is already in JL's body.
JL has a weird childhood illness, 10 years for normal people is like a lifetime for JL. (her illness seems to be accelerated aging). Five years ago everyone thought JL was cured, but that is not the case. JL has a medicine in her body pi pa zui, that helps her recover from illness and injury. JL ask why she didn't teach her how to make it. JL's master says it is not possible to make another one, JL has the only one.
JL has won another battle. JL's master scolds RY again for drinking tea while JL is on the battlefield. She ask why doesn't he care about JL. RY says that she will win.
JL returns, and they go celebrate. JL gets drunk. She follows the sound of the zither. She sees RY's burn on his hand and ask if it hurts, she refers to herself as wife and tries to kiss it to make it better. RY tells her, she's drunk. 'Drunk' and the 'most' sound the same.
She asks her husband for a hug. She says she likes RY the most, when he couldn't talk she likes him, when he was foolish she likes him, when he sits and smiles at her she likes him, when he runs towards her she likes him. When he sticks to me and when he gives me chestnuts. She recalls that RY said wife in this lifetime I will only listen to you. But she lost him, and he won't come back. She says she didn't want to burn down the Astrology Hall and star chart. But she had to do it, and it was difficult for her. She calls RY, husband and tells him she misses him a lot. RY says he knows, that she had to burn down the Astrology Hall. She tells him she's in a lot of pain. RY kisses JL on the forehead and JL's master sees as she is leaving.
They talk battle strategies, this will be a life and death battle.
JL will stay and protect Nan Jiang.
Yin Xiao asks JL to put down their swords and talk. JL refuses. Yin Xiao asks if it has to be like this between them, JL says yes, the moment he attacked Jia Lin it became like this between them. He can never be her senior brother now. He asks JL why she is still fighting for Jia Lin after they killed her family.
JL aims a arrow at Yin Xiao. They fight.
Zhan Ping finds a injured Cheng Bi in the street and brings her to where RY is. RY sends He Shan to find a doctor. Cheng Bi suddenly attacks Zhan Ping. RY rushes to take poison before being captured.
JL asks RY if she is not his fated one, then why after so many twists and turns she still married him, fell in love with him. She asks is this not fate? She says she can't see a future with anyone else. She says every time he ran towards her, can he let her run towards him this time. She says she will not give just anyone a second chance but she is willing to give RY thousands of chances. JL says she has already run in front of him, if he still likes her, then all he needs to do is reach out his hand and she will give her whole heart and her entire lifetime to him.
RY says what if I no longer like you. JL asks then why did you rescue me from the fire. RY says he would have saved anyone from the Astrology Hall. JL asks why RY got rid of everyone who would harm her. He says he just helped get rid of some bad people. He apologises for causing her to misunderstand (that he still likes her).
RY asks JL why would she think he would still like her after she burned down the Astrology Hall. (sigh...RY was obviously was not bothered by it) Now Zhan Ping also hates JL for burning down the Astrology Hall, he thought she was helping put out the fire.
Song Min returns to Jia Lin, and asks his father (the Regent) to save his sister who is still in Xunnan. The Regent refuses to send the army to rescue just one person.
Zhan Ping packs up JL's belongings and asks her to take them away or they will be thrown out. JL starts to vomit. Zhan Ping thinks she's pretending and tells her to leave. Zhan Ping keeps scolding JL.
JL tells ZP to tell RY to take care and she won't bother him anymore.
JL meets Song Min. Song Min asks JL to help his sister. JL says she will write a letter to Yin Xiao to ask about it but that's all she will do. Song Min apologizes for bullying JL. Song Min doesn't know what his father did to the He family. Song Min says JL has become a lot like RY, she is now able to sit with a person who she doesn't like, not like in the past. He ask to be friends with JL. JL says they will never be friends.
Princess Xie Lan finds out the new emperor is under house arrest and asks JL for help.
Song Min finds out his father is responsible for the death of the He family. The Regent wants Song Min to take the throne.
JL goes around recruiting the secret guards to free the new emperor.
RY sees a disturbance in the stars and goes to meet General Yan.
JL and the new emperor are surrounded, the Regent aims a arrow at JL. Song Min begs JL to put down her sword and he will ask his father to let her live, he jumps in front of JL and takes the arrow. Before Song Min dies, he apologizes for not being able to help the He family, he says they could have been good friend and he likes her.
The Regent gets sent to prison. JL gets rewarded for protecting Jia Lin, the status of her dead family are elevated.
RY is preparing to chose the next master of the Astrology Hall.
Reports are coming in that Xunnan is attacking Jia Lin near Nan Jiang. Jia Lin is losing battle after battle.
JL doesn't believe her Senior brother is attacking Jia Lin and wants to look for him. Tan holds her back.
JL offers to go to Nan Jiang and fight, the other officials disagree.
RY says there is only one in ten chance JL will be successful. But if JL doesn't go and they retreat then it will be a complete defeat. RY convinces the officials to let JL lead the army to Nan Jiang.
RY returns to Rong manor and is cold towards his Uncle, he tells him he knows, knows what he did to He family. RY tells his Uncle that out of personal revenge he killed a good family, RY says he doesn't feel happy at what his Uncle did. RY is not happy about his Uncle supporting wolves (the Regent) and messing with court stuff. He says this is not the path of the Astrology Hall and how could he (Uncle) do this kind of thing. RY's Uncle says he's already gone this far and he can't turn back (he's not going to stop what he is doing). Uncle says he never wanted RY to find out, and he wanted RY to stay pure and innocent. But since he (RY) knows now, it is fate, and what does RY want to do. Does RY want him to die for his sins. I think RY says treason deserves death. Uncle says he doesn't have a wife or kids, he spent his whole life and effort to raise RY. He taught him, how to read, astrology, and he didn't give up on RY in the past five years. Uncle says now RY wants him to die over a women, and become enemies with him. Uncle says JL burned the Astrology Hall and the star chart.
RY says the Astrology Hall and star chart got burned because of Uncle. And even now you think the problem is only because of a women. (Uncle is digging his heels in and not admitting his wrong doing, not showing remorse). RY asks Uncle if he doesn't feel even a little be of remorse/regret. Uncle says no, he will never forgive JL, that she destroyed everything.
RY's Uncle says if RY wants to kill him then go ahead. RY says Uncle is a very important person to him and he has always treated him like a father. RY says Uncle killed his heart. RY says he can't kill him, but he can't pretend nothing happened.
RY is using his right as the true successor of the Astrology Hall to remove Uncle from his position as the master of the Astrology Hall. RY takes back the Astrology Hall. He tells Uncle he is no longer the master of the Astrology Hall and he is no longer a astrologist of the Astrology Hall. RY wants to sends Uncle away from the capital, and tells him this will be the last time they will see each other (goodbye forever).
RY says since he treated Uncle as a father, then they have a father-son relationship and the son should pay for the fathers sins. The He family debt and all the people that Uncle killed and hurt, RY will take responsibility. RY thinks he also deserves death and will admit to his crimes (Uncles crimes) once he returns the Astrology hall to the correct path. (excellent acting here, I wish we got to see more of RY's Uncle earlier).
JL is being treated for her injuries.
RY's Uncle gets banished, he's still blaming everything on JL.
The Regents meets RY, and knows he has recovered, and the master of Rong family has changed. RY tells the Regent his Uncle is ill. RY tells the Regent that he has evidence that JL had nothing to do with the fire. (the Regent knows RY will not help him with divination like Uncle did)
The Regent is told the people he sent to deal with JL have been killed.
JL goes to meet RY. RY tells her the people who want to kill her have been punished and she has nothing to worry about in the future.
JL asks if RY has recovered completely, and if his injuries (from the fire) still hurt. She notices RY bandaged hand. RY says it only looks serious. JL asks if anyone else was injured in the Astrology Hall. RY says no.
JL says only RY was foolish enough (to rush into the fire to save her). JL says she is not worth it. JL was scared that RY wouldn't wake up after the fire, when she closes her eyes its all she sees. JL says she thought she was dreaming when she saw him (when RY rescued her from being killed in the forest). But when she woke up, there was only Zhan Ping and he told her to wait until RY found and punished those people.
JL says its not important if those people are punished or if her injuries have healed. She talks about the time when they looked at the shooting stars, and her wish for RY to live happily and peacefully, live too 100 years old.
JL says once RY has recovered completely, she wants to tell him a lot of things. JL says she has thought things through and has let a lot of things go (her revenge against RY's Uncle). She only wants RY to live well, everything else is not important. She says if RY likes looking at stars, then she will spend a lifetime looking at stars with him. If RY thinks the Astrology Hall is the most important then she will restart it with him together and spend a lifetime protecting it.
RY says you seem to have forgotten that we are already divorced, on the night of the banquet and we no longer have any connection to each other. JL says you still remember the divorce, shouldn't we forget about it. RY says what has already happened can't be changed. RY tells her to recover her injuries in Rong manor. He's going to live at the Astrology Hall. RY tells her once she is recovered she can go anywhere she wants, to Nan Jiang or to Xunnan is okay. JL asks him if he really wants her to leave. RY says once she leaves here, everything will get better, and everything can restart anew.
JL asks RY if he has forgotten everything again because of the medicine she gave him. RY says, no he remembers everything, the night she went to Nan Jiang, she told him to forget about her and he remembers all the wrongs from then on.
JL asks him if he thinks everything they had is wrong (their married life). RY doesn't answer her and leaves.
JL dismisses Cheng Bi and tells her to go back home to Xunnan, with a final letter to her senior brother, and to also tell him she's sorry. CB asks JL to come back to Xunnan with her but JL refuses because Jia Lin is her home.
The new emperor visits JL at Tan's house. He is just checking on JL (not giving her a new mission).
Song Min (SM) is in Xunnan, he wants to take his sister Song Lin back to Jia Lin. She is being mistreated and is ill after the marriage alliance. Yin Xiao refuses.
Tan is glad to hear JL is not being sent on another mission in her condition. Tan tells JL to return to Rong manor. Tan asks JL why she has to hide her love for RY, that she should be brave and try to hold on to him. JL says she doesn't have the right to tell RY she likes him after all the bad things she's done. Tan thinks RY left JL because he thinks JL was forced into marriage. And RY is only thinking of JL.
JL says if the now recovered RY still likes her, then she will stay by his side, but the way RY looks at her now is full of pain.....
The Astrology Hall is accepting disciples. The kids ask RY about the burn on his hand and will it leave a scar. RY says outside appearance is not important. One kid says he likes the good looking RY. Another kid says he's superficial, and RY was very brave saving people from the fire. The kids worry about the state of the Astrology Hall after RY's Uncle left.
JL crashes the class held for the new disciples.
The Regent puts the new emperor under house arrest.
JL asks RY, if it is true that Astrologist can not divine their own destiny (calamities or fortune). Zhan Ping thinks JL went to send Cheng Bi back to Xunnan.
RY says that's correct, but JL says that's not right. She says for other things it maybe true but for marriage which involves two people, even if the astrologist can't see his own marriage fate, he can see the fate of his other half. She wants RY to see her marriage fate to see if it is good or bad. RY is unwilling to do the divination.
JL starts doing the divination herself. She gives herself and RY a good marriage fate, she says even with all the twists and turns everything turns out beautifully and they are a match made by heaven.
RY tells her this divination is probably for another person, and he announces his divorce to the world and he is not her fated one.
RY is writing the divorce papers. Princess Chu Chu (PCC) arrives causing a fuss because she just found out about RY's illness (his child like state).
PCC demands RY come out and see her. She tells him she can't play the pipa well and she no longer wants to do the collaboration with RY at the Empress Dowagers banquet.
She wants RY to tell Lord Li that the collaboration is cancelled, basically she's putting the responsibility and blame on RY for cancelling the event. RY doesn't bother speaking to PCC. PCC gets angry and tries to whip RY.
JL catches the whip before it hurts RY. She says she's not afraid of PCC. JL says the whip is just a plaything to her. RY sees that JL has hurt her hand catching the whip. PCC says she's heard about JL (about the death of her family), and she pities her so she will return her husband and not take him.
PCC says RY has mental problems and he still wants to do the event with her.
JL tells her RY can do it and will show everyone he's fine. She ask PCC to leave. PCC is being really rude and pushing all the blame on RY, and tells them to handle the banquet event however they want but don't use her as a shield (excuse).
JL says they will continue with the event. She asks RY to do the event together before they divorce.
PCC arrives at the banquet and finds out the event with RY hasn't been cancelled and gets nervous. The empress asks PCC if she has bullied JL and RY, PCC admits to it. The empress is looking forward to PCC and RY's event. PCC sneaks away from the banquet because she doesn't want to be embarrassed at the performance because she has no talents.
RY gives the divorce papers to JL, they are now divorced. JL says she doesn't regret meeting RY or becoming his wife. She tells him to look after himself since he just recovered, to eat well to sleep well, and don't ..... don't make Zhan Ping worry. JL wears a mask for her sword dance with RY. Everyone at the banquet thinks the one in the mask is PCC and praises her.
After the performance JL leaves quickly to burn down the Astrology Hall. What she doesn't know is that RY also leaves immediately.
The secret guards set fire to the Astrology Hall. JL goes to the Astrology Hall and still using her status as RY's wife tells the guards, outside where the star chart is kept to go help put out the fire. She enters the room with the star chart and burns it down. But she cant get out quickly enough before the fire spreads and she collapses.
RY is outside, he is not too bothered about the star chart burning as long as everyone is okay. RY sees Cheng Bi, wanting to rush into the burning room and realises that JL is inside. He rushes in and carries JL out. RY collapses, his hand is burnt and he's not waking up. JL thinks she's killed RY.
RY's Uncle thinks he let a wolf (JL) into Rong family. He captures JL, put her in prison and tortures her.
RY's Uncle and the Regent are talking at the bedside of the comatose RY. The Regent asks for a divination. RY's Uncle can't divine without the star chart. RY's Uncle wants to kill JL, he knows JL burned downed the Astrology Hall. RY's Uncle guesses JL knows he killed her entire family, he wishes that he killed her earlier. RY is hearing all of this. RY's Uncle is describing how he wants JL to die, ie cut to pieces
JL is dragged out to the forest to be killed and buried. RY wakes up and rushes out to find JL.
I got what I wanted to see which was Jiu Ling confessing her love to Rong Yu, she did it in words and in action, I feel satisfied.
Episode 26 was also quite beautiful with the flashbacks to the day of the poisoning. The theme of destiny and choices continue, letting go, starting anew or holding on.
I think once everyone watches with the English subs, they will like these final episodes more. I actually think the script writer is pretty good and I really like the dialogue between characters. The ending to RY's Uncle was also done very well.
Yes husbands can divorce without the wife's concent.
😂 That's what I said JL needs some amnesia potion ASAP.
I don't have time to watch tomorrow s and Sundays episode early.
