One of the men who JL beat up yesterday approaches her. He was one of the men who captured the He family and fought with her brother. His name is Yen Li, he tells JL he knows she killed Lord Song, there was a knife mark on his carriage and not many people use this kind of dagger which is made for women. JL is one of the few using this dagger. JL threatens to kill him, he is sorry for his part in the downfall of He family and is willing to die to make up for it. But he says there is nothing anyone can do in this political situation, and offers to help in her plans. He seems to be one of the good guys.

JL is waiting for a opportunity to kill the Regent during the hunt but RY keeps getting in the way. RY thinks JL will get hurt if she tries to go after the Regent. JL reports to the emperor that she couldn't kill the Regent. The emperor offers to annul her marriage to RY if she ever wants to leave RY.

Back at Rong Manor, JL gets the news that the medicinal grass has been found on a mountain quite far away. She makes plans to go pick the grass at its freshest.

RY can't see the Regents fate and he guesses that a expert is helping him.

RY tells JL they will move out to another house after she comes back. JL will be away for one day but she worries about RY.

While on the mountain picking the grass, JL sees the Regent talking to someone. The person is RY's Uncle he has been advising the Regent. It was RY's Uncle who asked the Regent to get rid of the He family in revenge for poisoning RY. 🫨 RY's Uncle is the big bad. 😲

Episode 18

JL and RY wake up the next morning, JL apologizes for last night and says let's not mention it again. 😂 What did she do?

Cheng Bi the new maid says Tan the stable girl is waiting for JL. JL gets up and rushes out, she meets one of the secret guards, they are planning something, JL also asks about a grass she has read about but she can't find in any shops. She is told it is for headaches but is difficult to store so it's not sold. He says he will ask someone to go find it and let her know when he locates the grass.

While JL is out, RY goes through JL's appothacary trying to find out what she is up to, rushing out every time Tan arrives. RY finds her black killing outfit, and remembers his Uncle say the city is not safe these days. RY connects JL and the dangerous situation in the city.

JL picks up RY from the Astrology Hall to go play, RY has a premonition and saves JL from the falling Astrology Hall sign. They return to Rong Manor, RY's Uncle is questioning JL, RY distracts him by saying the Astrology Hall sign collapsed. RY's Uncle tells them to go to the hunt tomorrow organised by the emperor.

At the hunting grounds, Song Lin and the Princess are talking, Song Lin has been given the Princess title and her marriage to Xunnan is set. They talk about the worthlessness of love.

Song Lin's brother is also at the hunting grounds, he is boasting about his martial arts and he wants to show off to the young ladies that will gather there. He has his creepy eyes on JL.

Some of the officials are talking about RY 's situation, and how Rong family don't have a successor and the beginning of the downfall of Rong family.

There is a martial arts competition, the winner will have their status increased. Song Lin's brother is up first and seems to want to show off infront of JL. RY and JL are in their own world completely ignoring him. They get bored and want to leave to fly kites.

One of the officials sons who JL forced to eat a bun four years ago, intentionally says RY wants to challenge Song Lin's brother. JL denies he made a challenge. Song Lin's brother and the other bully make fun of RY saying of course someone like RY wouldn't challenge.

JL challenges Song Lin's brother and beats him up and the other bully gets beaten up and humiliated. She looks very cool fighting 😍. The emperor wants to reward her for coming first. JL says she wants to challenge RY, she asks RY to take her sword and stab her. RY isn't happy and drops the sword. JL pretends to lose against RY, she says she's only willing to lose against RY. The emperor gives RY a new title, his status is now comparable to the officials there.

I wanted Lord Song to suffer more for what he did.

I still don't get where senior brother stands, he wants to help Jiu Ling to get revenge by making a marriage alliance between his crazy concubine killing older brother and the Regent's daughter who has just been made a princess, the girl who called RY a fool. But somehow I don't trust him, he seems really possessive of Jiu Long but I don't think he loves her 🤔. I bet the maid is reporting all of Jiu Ling's movements to Yin Xiao.

I want to see Jiu Ling trap RY against a wall like they do in Kdramas 😆 then Rong Yu gives up pretending. He's still pretending in episode 18 though.

Shy and flustered Rong Yu is so funny 🤣 I want to see more 🤭🤭🤭

The assassinations happened really fast right. Somehow it felt slightly unsatisfying, I wanted there to be a trial and see Lord Song in a sorry state in prison.

I think the emperor 's Uncle has something planned at the hunting party, he wanted it to go ahead. I think the emperor knew that and just went along with it. The hunting party will be combined with the selection of royal guards, maybe JL will be selected to make her general position official.

Yeah JL kept RY home to look after him and split the antidote into several doses incase RY couldn't handle it all at once.

I think he is planning to get RY married to someone so JL doesn't need to look after RY anymore. I can't believe JL doesn't question the antidote given by Yin Xiao after what happened last time 🙄

Maybe it will be dangerous, JL looks like she's surrounded. Maybe the official laid a trap for JL.
