But, honestly, this drama is so confusing...by epsiode 8, I'm even more confused as to who is who. Like one moment, somebody is somebody's son or daughter and then, they are something else!!!

Indeed...but that's usually the case! I feel one of the main flaws of this drama is that it considers its viewers to be really well-equipped with the fast pace, progressions, etc and also assumes them to be intelligent enough to connect the dots....which leads to a disconnect between the taking place of events and the viewer's understanding of it...they could have used something subtle to describe it.. don't know what the director is really thinking?

It can be, but it would have become cliché, but intriguing at the same time! You can see this troupe in the historical k-drama Moon River. Though the female lead isn't reborn, but she does end up losing her memories...so yeah, it is kind of a second chance romance!!
