I don't understand this and I'm so confused and shocked and heart-broken. Last Cinderella is one of my favourite J-dramas and I recently re-watched it. His face and his smile are stuck in my head. His smile. He's always smiling. May he rest well.
FL was so cute and likeable. ML sorta reminds me of Kris Wu, even his voice and his posture when he stands. All in all, a cute fun watch. You know it really warms your heart when you watch it the next day again just for the positive vibes.
always like to watch the movie version after watching the drama, it encapsulate the main plot points and just…
Same. And I ended up loving the movie more because I preferr d the cinematography and the soundtrack. Also I think I liked the FL here more than in With You.
I don't get the moral compass of this drama. They tried to make Anna the bad guy for doing nothing but following…
Secondly, I know that this drama was trying to make the male lead softer and kinder but they instead made him seem spineless and cowardly.
In the original version, when they slept together on the cruise, it was a genuine mistake. He was confused and woozy and THOUGHT she was Anna. However, in this version, he just gets drunk and sleeps with Jiaxin. Which is just point blank cheating.
I like the fact that in this version, he was warmer and showed her his love for her before she left, however his consistent lying to Anna just made him look cowardly. Like if it really meant nothing to him, he should just have been honest with Anna from the get-go. "I accidentally hooked up with this person" and see if she forgives him or not. He should have been honest and IF she had chosen to stay with him, at least he had been honest. He should have just come clean. Instead he lies for months and then when she finds out he takes the, "WELL YOU ABANDONED ME ON THE BOAT SO THERE'S THAT" route which seems like a cop-out. Trying to blame her for him falling in love with someone else. [Eye roll]
Then, when Anna came back and asked Xiyi for one last night out to "say goodbye", he got drunk and spent the night at Anna's place and my mind is like "Broooo, you went out with your ex, and didn't control your alcohol intake? DO YOU NOT REMEMBER THAT THIS IS HOW YOU ENDED UP CHEATING ON ANNA AND ENDING UP WITH A PREGNANT WIFE OUT OF THE BLUE??" Wholly irresponsible on his part.
All that saidddd, I AM enjoying this drama. I have skipped parts over the last 4 eps (25-28) but overall I'm still waiting to see the resolution and if they'll win me over.
Why is everyone complaining about Episode 24 events? That's how the story goes in all other versions . They couldn't change that so it's not this drama's fault. How it's resolved and what comes after is what is most important.
This drama is up and down, has some good stretches and bad stretches. I would recommend you keep watching since you're 2/3s through anyway.
They tried to make Anna the bad guy for doing nothing but following her dream. When Xiyi got with her he KNEW she was driven and ambitious. But when she follows her dream, he feels abandoned and used that as the excuse for him basically cheating.
However, when Anna ACTUALLY does something horrid i.e. manipulate Xiyi, maliciously sabotages his relationship with Jiaxin, and causes her to lose her baby she's forgiven so easily and then portrayed in a sympathetic light.
It's annoying tbh. I don't understand why Anna has such a big role in this version. It was really fun and I enjoyed the tone earlier but Anna's whole character is just meh. They reduce to her to a one-dimensional plot device and then want to give her body with that heart to heart she had with Jiaxin after the miscarriage which felt so out of place and annoying.
I'm unexpectedly loving this version. But WHY DO THEY KEEP DIGGING THEMSELVES IN A HOLE regarding Anna? Ep 22 why did she lie she was the dietician? Just made things harder for herself, Xiyi and Anna when she eventually comes clean. Also, which pregnant wife cooks and cleans his ex's house? COME ONN!!!!
I've watched the Taiwanese and Korean versions and so far (on episode 8) this one is my favourite! Pleasantly surprised. It's heartwarming and I like the fact that the male lead is kinder in this one. :) I'm really enjoying it so far though I thought I'd drop it after the first episode.
And maybe Mo Jun Jie and his grandma, but otherwise yeah it's as if they are non-existent. I've been thinking…
I agree about the parents. And I was frustrated at certain parts about why high school kids tried to handle a potential killer themselves rather than report to the police.
Despite not finding the full drama, I am accompanying by the fastdrama. So far has 31 episodes with the subs in…
Thank you so much. I'll check them out. Yesterday I checked fast drama and I saw it but I also saw a "PCCD" logo watermark. I guess fast drama is taking from them. I'll definitely try to watch on FB so I can support them and they don't have to stop subbing cuz I definitely need to finish this drama. Their subs are so good, much better than Youtube.
Can anyone please tell me where I can find this drama fully subbed in English? I was watching on Drama Nice and Youtube but from Episode 9 the subs are only party done on the episodes on both those platforms. Only about 1 in 5 sentences are subbed. (Crying face!) Can anyone help?
just finished it! it does begin slowly and convoluted... but it gets good. cinematography is AMAZING. soundtrack wasn't the best though. but the plot was full, characters interesting, we do get some cheesy dots-esque moments but it's a drama that will break and mend your heart.
I bawled like a child watching episode 11. A happy ending but the journey was sooo painful. I still find it difficult to forgive his mother. I get where she's coming from but involving the police was too much, especially since he was already taking is studies seriously and had moved back home.
All in all, I loved this drama. I'm gonna miss looking forward to Tuesdays cuz that's the day it airs. I'll miss Hijiri and Akira and Shotaru and Haraguchi-san.
My heart broke a thousand times. And I do have some reservations about the age and about his slapping her and some selfishness on his part but honestly it's been a while since I watched a drama so deeply moving.
It's been fun watching together and reading all the comments here. Thanks to aoihachi, the real MVP, and to everyone who wrote explanations and summaries and posted links here. Thank you thank you.
