Oh yeah, actually. I would have liked that too. What we saw was great... but it just wasn't enough.

Still thinking about this drama. Are there any characters that you guys wish we saw more of? I really would have liked to have seen more of Ji Ze.

I thought TTJ/TDG and Li Susu did have sex in the novel. She snuck into the palace and was wearing a veil at the time and pretending to be a concubine. But I thought this is when it happened. I remember reading that she was "struck with the illusion that he was in love with her" but not that the act of sex itself was an illusion. Specifically described this feeling of love as an “illusion” because she thought he didn’t know who she was. They were naked and he had the “scent of a woman” on him afterwards for example, so it was at least implied. Maybe I mistranslated though.

I would also say Tantai Jin and Li Susu consummated in the drama. I consider it a consummation if they were both taking part in it and in this case, I think they both were. (even if they were taking part in it within a “dream”) I think everything around them was fake, and was obviously meant to represent the life they wanted most. But I think they were real (and if not in terms of physical bodies, at least in mind) and consciously engaging. Which makes it a consummation. The fake version of him disappeared with the rest of her family. I think he came in and sat by her bed after the fact. It felt like there was some semblance of time passing since the act. It wasn't like he was watching her sleep from the real world (knowing that banging was going on inside her head) He was watching her sleep within the dream. It felt post-coital to me. So I think he was taking part in it with her. It was just as much about him having one last night with her as it was about her. If it wasn't "real" it was still real enough in terms of their physical body that there were real-world consequences (A’Mi.) Kind of like how they both still had the injuries to their hands and neck after that demon's dream.

It's the best thing i've watched all year to be honest. Though not without its flaws. I once saw someone say its a flawed masterpiece and thats how i feel about it too. I personally saw the ending as... not really a happy ending, but like...a bittersweet ending that implied a future happy ending off screen. So I guess its an open ending? Other people apparently see it differently. It seems it's up for interpretation.

I'm so confused to hear so many thought it was a BE. When I finished watching I assumed they were implying his imminant return and that they would meet again? Then I realise everyone is losing their minds over it and I start to doubt my intrepretation a bit 😅

I'm new here and I just read through those comments myself. I understand being a little frustrated about the off topic comment section (I too think they could probably take some of it to other pages) But I dont see how anyone here was attacking you? They just explained the situation with the comments section. Why it is the way it is and said dont let it deter you from watching the drama if you want to. How was that attacking? Certainly not antagonistic or anything. The only one being aggressive is you.

At the end of the day most of the people here were watching this drama 5 months ago. Those active discussions about each episode have (im guessing) already been had. Unless this section was no longer active at all you probably would have had to scroll back quite a bit to get to that anyway. And then nobody would probably be here to respond and engage with you about it.

If you really wanted to watch it why would this stop you... it doesn't impact the drama itself in any way?
Anyway - watch or don't, it's up to you. I think the only one missing out if you don't is you though. I thought it was brilliant.
