A song drift in the wind

It took me two weeks of break in order to write an honest review.
Two week of absorbing everything in and feel all the tears that slipped away.

For the entire drama, the story flows deep on a river of depth and sorrow, with bits of light reflecting over its surface as a reminder of hope. No other story depiction nailed in such manner as Fangs of Fortune its entire story and well played characters arc.

Every scene seems like a painted chapter over a lifetime, with surreal visual blends, colors and sets constructed for filming. From blooming scenes, full of flowers and hope, to nostalgic scenes with rain teardrops, honest dialogue and soft warm lighting that sparked the entire chemistry of our main characters. Roots, sprouts, flowers, snow, rainfall, fire, ice, morning dew, wood, steam, wind, all of such elements have entered as ingredients to create a epic storytelling, making you feel like you watch a story that feels familiar, like seeing an old friend.

For the characters and their performance, none have never fitted best in their role. From the small characters that had 2-3 episodes arc to the main villains, the old friends, old foes and lost lovers, family, brothers. Such a combination could not have been possible on other dramas yet Fangs of Fortune nails it magnifically.
Strong friendships, bonds that lasted centuries, forgotten past. Such delight in these character story arcs.

For me personally, what attracted me was Neo Hou's Zhu Yan.
Never have I've seen such warm character presented in such manner.
From his movements, his choice of words and actions. His entire character had such a weight, from its past and having gathered such pain over his faith, to believing strongly in his friends, his bond, his word and honor. Such a noble character with an impressive wisdom. His strength and grace of his fighting style was like a drug, attracting to want and see more. Like a falling flower.
As a wise demon, knowing his faith yet determined to finish everything in order to achieve one way of peace.
At the end, his performance made me feel his desire to live (for)more, and that brought me to tears. For such, i will have forever respect and admiration for him.

As a wrap, from the cinematography, to the coreography, fights and mistical arts, everything made me believe that Fangs of Fortune is a 10/10. Story wise is well made with characters arcs and made every second count and every actor play its part wonderful, a great combination without forgeting them after a few more episode.
As a top, the music made everything feel better, to worse to laughter, to crying out every wound you would see, feeling the pain of our main characters. All I want to say that I still listen to them even to day and feel like im transported to some scenes that felt like they were the most uplifting scenes a chinese wuxia drama could tell. Such grand feelings. Such extasy in each song.

I will forever recommend this drama. Hopefully you can watch it beyond the BL/GL suggestive scenes.
Thats what I had done. Hope you can find my review very helpful for I had to write with more than just words.

I was mesmerized over the first couple of episodes and loved the entire chemistry between or lovely main actors.
At first i wasnt hooked because of the hype and overall on Netflix yet i dont regret starting it.
---->I loved Yeon Suk and his performance for the entire series. The attitude, the attires, the walks. High level of standards.
---->For Soo Bin, there was that thing that made you curious about her from the first episodes on glance. Her characters story stroke that intense cord between the main characters interaction and all the background story. I enjoyed seeing her on the main screen even though some may have found her annoying as character type, introvert and dead waste.
---->all till episode 11/12 was perfection. Episode 12, dissapointment. FAIL of an ending - as in the way to end it.

You cant stop wanting to watch this!

This is truly a refreshing drama, with such a great cast, lead, acting and chemistry between everyone.
The story is very well written with the entire plot feeling right and well balanced.
I LOVED SO MANY THINGS ABOUT THIS DRAMA, MAKING IT A MUST SEE!
--->the male & female lead are strong, wise, smart and beautiful actors, seeing how they fall for each other felt real and true, displaying great on screen chemistry
--->the costumes and hair made me wanna die on the spot. beautiful, strong, nomadic and very attractive for the male side
--->the story and rivalry between the clans and the lead makes it more harder and wanting to see the leads being together
--->adored seeing a story of two characters on the same level of importance falling for each other, working towards each other with small steps, side looks, trusting and thinking of each other all the time YET they knew their responsabilities and loyalty. A very mature aproach to such a story
--->for me, the best so far was the beixuan arc, seeing Xuan Lie rising to being the Wolf Lord and Qilou learning their culture

DOWNSIDE
--->some characters were SPOT ON ANNOYING, making stupid decision and being a pain in the back for the story (Princess Qingkou/Quimin)
--->some toxic stupid moments between the lead could have been resolved on such a simple level, just by communicating but knowing the story plots, of course they cant let them be
--->the CGY was worse on some episodes but what can you do

OVERALL:
Worth every second of watching
A very original and unique story, but the characters are the best of this entire production

California dreamin' in Korea

A complete k-drama, from start to finish.
Starting on full scale with characters introducing themselves full of angst to a complete do-over of their life's choices.

I've watched this drama as a complete 10episode, no more no less and I feel complete.
From the main story plot in search to one's father to discovering how short life can be yet how full can days on end and minutes can make one feel alive.

Hae Jo is taking over such an adventure of his life, discovering and living every moment to the fullest. The hardships and cool moments, the scenary, the music and the acting. All make him one of the most relatable and alive on screen character. Seeing him makes you realize how much can a man crave for boyhood and warmth, love and understanding. Ever searching for the one thing that he still missed to feel full.

Jae Mi is full of fighting spirit yet a renagated human of society. Figuring out where and how to fit in, all that she wants is that place. By Hae Jo's side one can see how much they complete each other and how we can find each others half, soul mate, twin flame or whatever piece we thought was missing. She is incomplete, frighten, weak at some point and naive yet that makes her relatable.

This drama can take you from full blast of laughter to the most awful pain and tears.
You cannot unsee this one but you MUST SEE IT for sure. As the song from the legendary The Mamas & The Papas "California Dreamin'" this is a tale of a fading dream, of one place in time and space.
You must see, hear and feel this drama to see what type of dream you can wonder off in this life and maybe appreciate (your) our own adventure.

EPISODE 17 min 35 made me WATCH THIS :D

Now thats out there, what do I think about this drama?
AMAZING!
Absolutely amazing.
I hated bio of this drama once i read it but I admit that online reels made me give it a try.
BOY, AM I HAPPY I TRIED IT.

The entire series is composed out a unique blend of comedy, seriousness and a well story that unfolded over the entire 20 episodes. Never felt bored or lagging on some details. All characters have made a mark over the entire series and never did I feel that the main characters were under the water with some interactions or their flow of the story.
LOVED each moment, every second and the comedy was served warm, hot, cold and with flavour.
If i used to watch the trailer for this and would dismiss it, NOW I DONT REGRET one bit.
I regret the fact that I didnt watch it earlier.
Its an official must to see, if you are into period k-dramas but also for a story that isnt the usual palace world unfolded.

A political turn of events

I had mid to low expectation over this c-drama.
The plot did seem interesting but not something new at first glance.
The cast did stand as the compelling factor.

Along the way I saw how many scenes had be hooked up. Having emotional intelligence dialogue with suppressed emotions, wounds unhealed and a lot of traumas, Ive seen how talking can finally resolve stuff, given time and effort, or in this drama's case, another life's chance.
I loved the fights between Pei Wenxuan and Li Rong, from old couple having to restart as young adults. A sense a familiarity between them yet knowing each other for so long time, made their chemistry on screen so sweet and warm at times.
I admired this drama's romance, without so many complicated mixed feelings on some points yet you can resonate with the swift of power:
---->Strong female lead with over loving husband, being ignored or mistreated
---->Forming new bonds, learning from mistakes, often selfish narcissistic behavior on the female lead.
----> communication becoming the best remedy for past life mistakes, new perspectives

Loved Li Rong as a character. I find her refreshing on some level for c-dramas, even though i know some find her annoying. I find her relatable and humane
As for Pei Wuxian, he feels like a very supportive male/husband, but hungry for attention and desperate for approval and Li Rong's love. Understandable for the male side yet on some points sad to see how much he suffered.
As for Su Rongquing, I feel like his entire life was full of good and bad episodes but on one point, he found his happiness along side Li Rong. Happy to see he got such of experience

With politics being the main center of this drama, i wasnt bored. You get some episodes more low key but I enjoyed to see the struggles of a royal family and knowing that some decissions cant be based on the right morale feelings or having to decide with the heart rather than the head. I felt how hard some things are to do, wishing life would have been easier.

Its a visual stunning drama, packed all up in 6 episodes.
Easy to watch and digest if you are up for a story a bit different.
Personally I have mixed feelings about this one. From enjoying the sets and how it was filmed to witness a mess of a story and situation. The characters/actors are enjoyfull to watch them yet the entire story and background story makes you rewind over again to see if you really got the point.
I am not satisfied entirely with the ending but what can i say for a 6 episode drama.

With a curiosity for Japanese Dramas, this one is really well made in the matter of directing and cinematography.
I really enjoyed this ninja packed theme drama or how they say "not ninjas, shinobi".
With bits of comedy there and drama within this Ninja family its a combination of parents, children and siblings being bond in this shinobi life, being active and doing ninja mission in a modern world.
The grandma and nephew combination is peak when it comes with the background story and future generations of shinobies.
Loved the entire chemistry and how everybodys stories gets a little bit of highlight.
As main villains, there is a story there but didnt catch my interest, mediocre I might add.
But the ninja world is an attractive aspect and makes you wanna try it so, give it a try with this drama, plus the modern twist.

As I watched for the first episodes the plot seems a good to go story yet fades away by episode 4 to 5.
Many side stories and many other character stories yet i see that its a main point to this drama.
I wont deny the funny moments you get to watch and laugh out loud, some with tear moments. I did enjoy Young Dae's character and acting in all episodes and facial expressions, 10/10. His character interaction with the lawyer made up a great amount of laughters.
I also enjoyed all of Yoon Jong Hun's moments, making him a great delight over the entire series. A best guy.
For short, a good comedy romance put out there.
Best to watch it and decide so far. Its very colorful and has a ton of stories pilled in one place, the entertainment bussiness.
