Gintama is gold(silver lol) the way it is, respect for all the actors, but there is no way that they can possibly capture the sense and the feeling that 2D is giving us. It's not only up to actors, there is production, scenario, settings, everything. Rather than excited, I am utterly afraid that most of those things will go wrong.
I will be happy if I'm wrong though, but there is no person alive that can portray these silly dorks and give the same feeling as their voice actors are giving.
Also, to a huge Gintama fan like me, characters are like family members, so seeing the live action would kinda make me feel like I'm seeing unknown people playing my family. But if they make it right, I'm looking forward watching it as a separate piece of work. ^^

Same here. I want to and I don't want to hope for Taek, cause I feel that I'll get disappointed, deep down, I feel it's Jung Hwan T_T
The reason I want it to be Taek, is because I can imagine Jung Hwan being happy with someone else, but not Taek.

Your reply was unnecessary then, because my first comment said it all: 'If you are not comparing, you will enjoy'. And you don't necessarily have to compare just because it's a remake or has the same title. It's made to differ a little or a lot, but can be viewed as the show for itself as well. That, of course, if you are open to accept it as such.

You are comparing :P that's why you aren't enjoying it completely. Hand shake is a little bit of nitpicking, but if you are about to kill a man, your hand might shake as well. Agree on L though, he's not weirdo here, and should be. I also find him arrogant, which bothers me some, but changes accepted. Ryuuk is okay though, in my opinion. Anyways, I'd like to see an alternative ending.

So basically, if you stop comparing to anime or movies, you might as well enjoy this. Personally, I can't shake off the brilliancy of Matsuyama Kenichi who made me worship L, but in the series, I can't help rooting for Light. I see a lot of changes in L and Light's personalities that made L to be less L like and Light less Light like, and that made me switch sides.I don't think Light is less intelligent, but seems to me that his complete nature is kinda.. mild. I dunno how much will they stick to the original, but this Light sincerely gives me hope for a change. Anyways, if i ignore movies and anime, I do enjoy the show so far.

Yeah, i think that was the writer's purpose, i don't think he's that rotten, just more ambitious and cares for himself more than others. Chang Soo it's a cutie however. Good thing is, we can expect characters' developement and i'm looking forward to it ^^

I'm just fascinated with Ji Yi's reactions and responses, she's so spontaneous and sincere, he somewhat random, and that makes her really special. I love her. The show is typical, but not bad so far, charaters are interesting, good or bad, you can't just ignore anyone, and that's why i'm watching this drama ^^
