Haha No worries about the notifications. MDL is a fickle mistress.
Yes, please do let me know how Love Around turns out! If it's good, I'll definitely add it towards the top of my list when I need a good Tdrama. What other Tdrama are you watching?? I can't believe you've started watching more currently airing dramas!! Sometimes they're hard to stay away from, but you have guts. I'm impatient too, so I can only imagine how much torture you're going through with two of them!
You're right when it comes to Dokko Jin. We have type casted him ourselves, but he just fits the roles he's played in City Hall and TGL so darn well that I can't feel bad for it. XD You told me about that movie and I remember deciding not to watch it because I didn't want to view him in a different light, but I kind of walked right into it with Athena. I didn't know he was the bad guy though! I though he was going to be one of the tortured hero types. So I can relate with that kind of weird and disconcerting experience. Kind of like finding out Santa doesn't exist.
Reading what you said about main character deaths really described how I feel about it perfectly. I guess I was still in denial and convincing myself that if I knew before hand it would somehow be better, but it's really not. I also think that knowing about the lead dying ruins the full extent that you can immerse yourself into the drama or love the character because you're always shying away from what you know is going to happen. But if you don't know, you fall in love with the story and characters so much that by the time tragedy strikes, you can't regret spending the time in a world you loved so much wholeheartedly, so it's almost better to not know before hand. Man...talk about a conundrum. o.o;

Heh I usually am really biased in my ratings, but I decided a while ago that my ratings would be for my benefit and reflect how much I enjoyed the drama instead of realistic analysis. Sometimes I enjoy something on an emotional level that I know is utter crud on a plot/story-line/production level. However! I don't recommend those dramas without a disclaimer. XD Have you ever liked a drama no one else seemed to?
Wah! I'll put Orange Days at the top of my list! I think I'll avoid Iris and Athena for a while longer, so it'll probably come after I Hear Your Voice. ^.^ Once I finish it, is it ok if I gush in your general direction?
I noticed Lovers was your absolute favorite, and it made me reconsider it once again. I haven't seen it, but I know I pondered watching it a few times, but I'm always leery of dramas with a gangster plot line. I haven't seen too many that have done it well, so I tend to avoid them. Is there a lot of focus on the gangster world? Is it done believably? Does it have a happy ending? I just read through all the reviews and what peaked my interest was one saying the leads have awesome witty banter, which I adore. I guess I should just give it a shot since I might love it more than I think.

Oh I love a disabled hero too! I figure that it has something to do with a hero, by virtue of the name 'hero', always being strong. So mix in a survivable disability, and it makes for an innate sense of vulnerability. I hope you like Can You Hear My Heart when you get to it! ^.^
Ah, Bachelor's Vegetable Shop! I might have over rated it a little, as I'm an emotional rater, but I do recommend it. I'm nervous to though since I know quite a few people didn't enjoy it, but I loved it, so eh. XD That synopsis is utterly horrendous! It is NOTHING like AGD. I wrote a review for it and actually added in a little synopsis because the one MDL has up is so horrible.
My review is on the bottom. I don't think I put any real spoilers in there, but I'm so horrible with spoilers that I'm probably not the best judge. heh.
I added Naga, thank ya! I don't know how I missed it, but I'll blame MDL for my pride's sake. :P
Wah, and seeing Orange Days in your favorites just reminded me that I need to watch that! Is it as good as everyone says?

I haven't seen The Lobbyist, in fact, I keep forgetting it exists. XD I know I've looked at it al least four times, decided it looked good, and then promptly forgot about it. haha However! I greatly enjoyed Can You Hear My Heart! It's a favorite of mine for sure. I often go back and re-watch it because I loved the story-line so much. The acting is amazing, and spot on, the characters are well flushed out, and while it has quite a few cliches in it, they present them well enough that it feels refreshing to watch. The romance is also ADORABLE! I happen to have a huge crush on the male lead because he's just...*swoons a little* my cup of tea, but his acting is good as well! I don't know much about your drama preferences, but from what I've read on your profile, I think you'd enjoy it. It's a little more adult, but keep in mind it's not as mature as some of the other dramas you have on your list. The drama also does an amazing job with portraying someone that is deaf believably. *forces self to stop gushing*
Let me know what you decide on and if Nagaboreshi gets more enjoyable or not! I hope your guy friend speeds up his watching too! Non addicts are so frustrating sometimes, aren't they? :P

:( It makes one wonder why they would even put his death in the script anyways. I know I've written this already, but if you're going to kill off a main character that's strong, talented, and loved by all you should at least give them a fitting end. I haven't seen CC, obviously, but if he had at least fought a little, it probably would have helped eh? I didn't really think it could be an open ending if the main lead died, unless they pulled the nonsense ending in a "City Hunter" style, and considering how upset a lot of watchers were, I just assumed he died and stayed dead. XD
I never heard of Nagaboreshi, but it looks really interesting. I can't find it on MDL though. :/ Does it just not have the kind of tone you're looking for, or not what you expected? It sounds pretty heavy on the emotional turmoil aspect. It's pretty hard to find a new drama to fill the hole an excellent drama leaves when it's over. I spent almost a full month searching for a drama to fill the hole Bridal Mask left in me (Even after watching it multiple times, I just couldn't move on from the feelings it left in me). I resorted to reading until I was able to watch another drama without comparing it to how I felt when watching BM. However, watching a few movies might have been the better option like you're planning on.

WAH! YAY! i've been swooning and turning into Goo the last day because I've been rewatching Smiling Pasta. Gah!! *twitches* Just so damn adorable!! It may not have a solid plot, or really serve a purpose, but it's a favorite. :D
Yes, FG is a lot like P&H! But better because it has more a story to it and the characters are more expanded on. I think that since you did like P&H that you'll like FG. ^.^
ITWY is better as an in between drama, and yes! He is gay! haha But you already figured it out! XD
I don't think the K version of Skip Beat is ever going to come out, and the synopsis doesn't even sound ANYTHING like skip beat, so I'm kind of hoping it doesn't. -.-
You're stronger than me! I don't know how you can watch MY so many times, I'd die from dehydration because I cry EVERY time. haha Did you already have you party with your parents? I hope it went well if you did!!
Wah! I didn't know you could do that! Are you able to share a link of what they look like?? Or what dramas did you use? That's such a good idea!!
I think that after Smiling You, which will be later today/tonight if I don't rewatch it AGAIN, I'll start IHYV! I'm entirely too curious about it!

Kim Tae Hee is in Iris, and is one of the main reasons I started watching it!! I really love her, and it's fun to see her in a different role from something like My Princess, which I saw first. I think Iris would still be well worth the watch, and I know I wouldn't regret it, but actually in Iris I ADORE the male lead. Seriously..head over heels in love with him. It's one of the first times that I've rooted for the male lead over the female lead, and so many bad things happen to him that it HURTS. haha I agree though, there are a few dramas I'd have avoided a lot longer if I knew how devastated I'd be at the end. When it comes to those dramas, if I can, I pretend they ended happy. XD Oh! And with Poseidon, I would say it's worth putting at the top of your list, but eh, it's pretty good.
I was talking to PrettyCarEye about CC too, and I am planning on putting it off for a while. She said the ending doesn't even make logical sense and is just thrown in because it's a noir. I can handle main characters death's if they at least make sense or fit the drama as a whole in a poetic sense, but when it's just there a devalues the character, I get pissed. I agree 100% with you about there being other dramas to watch before resorting to certain heartbreak.

OH! He's the CHILD of a gangster! Ok! I like that better! I thought he was a gangster himself by choice, and somehow that leaves a little bad taste in my mouth, mostly because I've never seen a gangster movie where the gangster doesn't die/lose his loved one in the end. haha Just reading how you swoon over his protectiveness makes me excited to see it!! :D I'm so ready to swoon!
You're probably more logical than I am about the pictures. I'd probably still dress up and end up regreting it years later when I had a picture of myself looking decayed next to Norman Reedus on my wall. Well...maybe I would...*tilts head* Maybe..anyways! That's probably the smart thing to do, not to mention cheaper!
Heh! I'm glad I explained why putting things on hold was justifiable because I wasn't sure I made sense. haha XD
And yes! Dokko Jin is EVIL! He looks it too! I just kept saying.."No...No...you're supposed to be adorably romantic in your asshole kind of way and have a hilarious relationship with a kid names Ding Dong!!! STOP IT! NO!! Don't Shoot him!!" *cough* >.> Yeah. So I paused it so I could reconcile my thoughts of him in various roles.

UGH! That's what I was afraid of when I saw the genre!! I get that a noir is meant to be dark...hence the genre...heh...but really, at least the deaths and tragedies in them should make logical sense or provide something to the drama/movie as a whole. Not to mention that if the lead dies in such an unsatisfactory/humiliating way, it almost ruins all the character built for itself before that. If he was smart and cheated death before, or survived when all others didn't, but suddenly dies at the end by getting hit by lightning, it's enough to make you question the character as a whole. Was he ever smart? Was there even a point to anything that had happened? Why didn't he just get hit by lightning in the beginning and save everyone the heartache? haha I know it's a ridiculous metaphor, but it works.
I think I'll hold off on CC for a while longer. Idk if you've seen Iris, but after I finally finish that and then Athena, I'll probably need a break from tragic and senseless deaths. (Well..at least I know Iris's death scene has poetic meaning, so that helps a little.)
Anyways! Happy thoughts! XD How are you? Are you watching anything your particularly love at the moment?

I think once everyone calms down a little about Monstar I'll watch it so my opinions doesn't just follow everyone else, if that makes sense. Either I'll rate it lower because it wasn't as good as the hype to me, or I'll feel like I SHOULD love it. *shrugs* I cave to peer pressure. jkjk
I actually DEPLORED Boys Before Flowers so much. It was one of the first dramas I ever watched, and I just hated it. I didn't like Lee Min Ho's Character at all, or the female lead, and I just could never get over her not picking Ji Hoo. XD I actually didn't watch City Hunter for a long time because I didn't like Lee Min Ho in BOF/BBF. Of course, now I adore him and appreciate his acting, but I still hate BBF. haha I have heard, however, that Hana Yori Dango is really good, and even if it follows the same story line, I think I'll try it and see if I like the way the characters are acted/portrayed better. Have you seen BBF? Which version did you like better?
And I LOVE Atashinchi No Danshi! I thought it was a blast and was such a good watch. While a lot of it was out there, the relationship between the boys and the female lead was awesome to see. I loved seeing how she slowly but surely won each of them over. :D I love friendship/family dramas that actually have strong relationships. Not to mention Sho is just beautiful. XD haha
I can understand staying away from historicals, I used to, but one day I just picked up one and the rest was...oh god here comes a cheesy pun...history...-.-;.
Now that I look at my list, I've seen more Jdramas than I thought, but not nearly as many as I should. >.< If there's any you think are missing, or maybe I'll raid you list and look...either way, I love suggestions! Do you ever watch any Tdramas or Cdramas? What's your favorite genre?

I'm actually glad you added your two cents because I think I am doing the same thing I did with Bridal Mask, Iris, and Athena when it comes to Cruel City. Practicing avoidance. XD I caved and watched Bridal Mask, and utterly loved everything about it, even with a tragic ending, and I know darn well I'll love Iris and maybe even Athena, but it just takes time to build up that resistance. I'm a horribly emotional watcher, so I develop too deep of an attachment with certain characters, and falling in love with them when I know one of them is going to die is like being stabbed and healed repeatedly. (Quite over-dramatic, but the sentiment's the same. XD) I'm positive I'll watch Cruel City and possibly adore it as much as I have the other dramas I've put off, since pretty much all my favorite dramas are ones I avoided for months. Even though I love a happy ending over everything else, the logical and realistic side of me knows that's not usually possible in action/emotionally charged dramas. Most of my favorites actually end really tragically...-.-;
Anyways, sorry for all the above babble and probably too much information, but your comment actually moved Cruel City up on my PTW list. Probably after Iris and Athena, since I've started those two already. Does the ending at least make logical sense or fit in with the feel of the drama as a whole? Or is it one of those random tragedies that are thrown in just for shock factor?

That my dear is Lee Seung Gi! My bias forever. haha My DP is from King 2 Hearts during a bubble bath scene that's too adorable to even describe. XD As you can tell, I'm a little fangirlly when it comes to him. I regret nothing.
I have been hearing such awesome things about Monstar, and if I didn't have so many darn dramas on my watching list right now, I'd be watching it! Did you like it as much as everyone else?? I haven't actually seen too many Japanese dramas/movies. :/ Any you would highly recommend? Maybe when I finish the K dramas I'm watching, I'll take a break into the jdrama world. ^.^ I'll start by checking out that movie, I Have To Buy New Shoes!
Hmm..right now drama wise, I'm just getting back in the drama watching game after a month off. So I'm picking back up Dong Yi, which is utterly AMAZING. I don't know if you've seen any historical dramas, and I could look on your list if I wasn't so lazy, but Dong Yi is one of the best Korean historicals I've seen yet. I'm pretty in love with it.
Sorry for all the babble, I'm a babbler, so I guess here's your warning. XD haha You'll have to let me know what drama you're starting after your movie break!
I just saw 2 of those characters. In Secret Garden I loved Kim Sung Oh as secretary Kim and it took me half of…
No, haha. I have absolutely no excuse for my lack of observation skills. I am going to watch Man From Nowhere again with a new appreciation for the character though.
I haven't seen many of these, but I agree wholeheartedly with Kim Sung Oh in Man From Nowhere, even if I didn't place him from other dramas I've seen. He played that role perfectly; sent chills down my spine.
I'd have to add Park Ki Woong as Kimura Shunji in Bridal Mask. I can never quite peg him as an all around "bad guy", but his character was, and I'm hugely simplifying things, a messed up character. He played his role to a T.
Then, of course, I'd have to add Yoo Seung Ho as Kang Hyung Joon in Missing You. His character was really psychologically depraved, and he flawlessly executed the insanity/instability of Hyun Joon/Harry Borrison.
These two are character that were really messed up psychologically, and while technically the "Bad Guys", they portrayed far more than the usual black and white most villains accomplish.
I just saw 2 of those characters. In Secret Garden I loved Kim Sung Oh as secretary Kim and it took me half of…

OH Oh! I see you added Skip Beat! Have you read the manga?? If not, that drama is AWESOME because it does such an epic job of catching the exact feel of the manga. I felt like I was reading the manga all over while watching it because it's so damn spot on. One of the best manga to drama/movies I've ever seen.
