Despite how much I loved the first few episodes of Part 2 because Iโm a sucker for FLUFF, now that Part 2 is…
Totally agree with what you said in your last paragraph Chingu. They dragged out Uk and Yeong's characters and important moments were either interrupted or not shown at all.
tbh it was such a relief Jang Uk's character was saved from being ruined furthermore ๐คธ๐คธ๐คธ
I must admit I missed that charm that Uk had in part 1 and most of all I missed how chaotic he (and Me Deok) were. I'm glad they ended the show and story when they did. I'll miss Lee Jae Wook as Jang Uk so much!
Lee Jae Wook said that he had a hard time understanding Uk in part 2. I felt the same. While Wookie felt that because he had to switch into the dark Uk within a couple weeks of filming part 1. I had a hard time even after the 3 months of waiting for part 2. The shift was quite drastic and a bit hard to understand at first.
AoS will forever be very close to my heart. I have never connected with a show and it's characters like I did with AoS. I will miss AoS but I'm glad that I was a part of this journey. I dare say that I shed some tears.
I'm especially going to miss Lee Jae Wook as Jang Uk, Jung So Min as Mu Deok/Naksu/Cho Yeong, and Go Yoon Jung as Bu Yeon/Naksu/Cho Yeong. All of them did justice to their characters and the show.
Even the OST for AoS was fantastic in my opinion. I will forever feel nostalgic when listening to Scars Leave a Beautiful Trace ๐ฅน
I just finished the last 2 episodes and I can honestly say that I'm satisfied with the ending. While there are some unanswered questions and some things were contradictory, I am overall happy with the ending we received. Nothing is perfect and that's the beauty of it.
Episodes 9 and 10 followed the pace of episodes 19 and 20 from part 1 so I wasn't surprised that the finale battle and resolution happened during the last 20 mins of the show. But honestly that's a lot of kdramas for you - they save most things for the last 2 episodes.
I'm glad Uk Yeong can finally be together - them trying for a girl is sweet โค๏ธ and telling Danggu to not have one was hilarious. I'll take that as Uk Yeong finally settling down and having kids after they find all of the relics.
I'm glad Seo Yul is in charge of Jeongjingak and the fact that he brought changes to the recruitment process. He'll make a great teacher and Master.
Danggu and Yeon having twins and Park Jin and Kim Do Joo expecting kids was a great way to end off their stories.
My CP or should I say our King, I imagine that he finally found someone too with Cho Yeongs help ๐๐ and that he became a King that we would be proud of. A just King that protected the weak - like Uk said - a king that wanted to protect the world.
I already started rewatching episode 1 of part 1 of AoS - for like the 100th time now ๐ Part 1 will always be my favorite. Ukkie Deokie are so chaotic! I LOVE IT! And Jang Uk/LJW in those blue outfits were to die for! Uri Wookie is so handsome ๐
Goodbye AoS and goodbye Alchemists! I hope to reconnect with you all for another kdrama! ๐๐
Now back to rewatching part 1 episode 1! Restarting the AoS journey again knowing that my Uk and Yeong finally get their happy ending.
My eyes are still puffy from crying. What an epic journey you guys!! They didn't explain everything but I'm glad…
Chingu ya! I'm so happy with the ending they gave everyone ๐ฅน๐ฅน As happy as I am that everyone got their happy ending, I'm equally sad that AoS has finally come to an end ๐ข
I'm going to miss everyone, especially uri Wookie ๐ญ๐ญ He was absolutely fantastic as Jang Uk.
I have yet to see episode 9, I'll probably watch it tomorrow with episode 10 but I just wanted to quickly get on here and thank you AoS Nation for this fun journey.
Reading all of your comments and discussing theories with all of you was fun! Sharing our love for uri Wookie, JSM, and GYJ was even more fun โค๏ธ I've made some great chnigus on this page and I'll miss logging in here and waiting for the next episode to air and us going wild trying to figure out what was going to happen next.
Regardless of how the show ends tomorrow, I throughly enjoyed watching it. All of the actors did a fantastic job! They were absolutely brilliant and truly brought justice to their roles. I'll miss AoS but most of all I'll miss watching Lee Jae Wook as Jang Uk (can you tell I'm biased towards him ๐ - he's my favorite! Sorry not sorry! The boy was born to be an actor, an amazing one at that!)
I'll be honest, I have steered clear of answering the question that has been discussed here hundreds of times, that is "Part 1 AoS or Part 2 AoS". I purposely didn't answer that question because I wanted to give a fair chance to both parts. And now part 2 is coming to an end, here is my answer. For me I enjoyed watching Part 1 more. ~ And the sole reason for that is that I lean towards Fantasy/Comedy rather than Fantasy/Romance. ~ I found myself rewatching Part 1 episodes mutiple times because how lighthearted and funny it was. LJW and JSM both have great comedic timing ๐คฃ๐ and I really enjoyed their paring for part 1. I will forever miss Jang Uk's cute little pony with the ribbon ๐ฅน I also enjoyed the side stories they had and how they explored other characters. Overall as a whole I loved part 1 more.
BUT thats not to say that part 2 was any less compared to it. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by part 2. Mainly by the chemistry between LJW and GYJ - so damn hot ๐ฅ I think ppl will be talking about their paring for a long time and rightfully so. I usually cringe at romance scenes in kdrama mostly because of how awkward it seem but LJW and GYJ pulled off these romance scene effortlessly.
I'm going to miss the lead cast of AoS but am exicted to see their future projects ๐ซถ I hope we get to see more kdramas like AoS in the future.
Gamsahabnida Chingus for making AoS all the more enjoyable. And reading this long post ๐
Dude appears almost once in a blue moon. I had to wait for 2 years after Dol Dol sol sol.
But his cameos in Move to Heaven and Kiss Sixth sense were amazing! He's so versatile! I don't mind seeing a glimse of him here and there while we wait to see him lead a drama.
Uri Wookie is just ๐ฅ๐ฅ at whatever role he chooses
Confession time: I love hot UkYeong too but cute UkYeong just hits different... You know what is the scene in…
The scene where theyre holding hands and shes asking him to summon fireflies or make some fireworks ๐๐ is also cute. I love these type of innocent scenes between the two. Its lighthearted and not intense
Lee Jae Wook said that he had a hard time understanding Uk in part 2. I felt the same. While Wookie felt that because he had to switch into the dark Uk within a couple weeks of filming part 1. Goodbyes are hard but inevitable.
