So GYJ plays Naksu at the start. While performing Alchemy of Souls, things go wrong and Naksu ends up in Mu Deok's body. Played by JSM. It was all planned in the beginning, JSM will play Naksu stuck in Mu Deok's body for part 1 of AoS and GYJ will return in part 2 to play Naksu. How Naksu went back to her original body (played by GYJ) has not be revealed to us yet. We'll find out in part 2 of AoS.

Mu Deok is the name of the person who's body Naksu ends up in. So technically speaking, Mu Deok isn't the lead, it's Naksu who pretends to be Mu Deok. The lead does not change but the actress playing the lead does. Again, all planned from the beginning and all part of the story.

If you don't mind the change in FL then I suggest you watch this show. It's pretty amazing in my opinion. AoS is my all time favourite show! 10/10 from me!

There's a part 2 to AoS so technically there isn't an ending yet. Part 1 ended at a cliffhanger.

When Cho Yeon said she wanted to kill Mu Deok, Lady Jin said that she wanted Mu Deok alive to confirmed who the original body owner was. My assumption is that she had people following the chaos that Mu Deok was leaving behind to find her and bring her. That could explain why they found her so quickly. To be fair, everyone seemed to find Mu Deok easily. Park Jin, Jang Uk, and the Jin clan women.
