Not all people is vain and want to watch the face only, some people watch it for plots, acting and beautiful production. And don't drag Xu Kai's name in your narrow observation, I'm glad Xu Kai has the opportunity to work with critically acclaimed actress.

IMO its very good, this drama have strong plot line from beginning, and it develop stronger and stronger, it doesn't have a one conflict per episode kind of episode but build up plot from episode 1 onwards. You can try check it out.

I can't help but notice, you keep calling him "Male Lead" as if you are not familiar with him, but you have obviously seen his other dramas, even remarks goofy character is all he knows to act, keep emphasizing how you hope everyone will notice how bad he is sooner or later, targeting him alone and the fact this account has just been created this month in July and you already wrote a targeted comment . Smells like another hater try to disguise.

I saw on twitter that the rating is very good, either topping the chart or 2nd in overall drama list, its just the comments from weibo and douban that is mostly negative. but normal audience still like to watch it.

It is very good and the plot just keep developing well. Regarding the low score i think because you have haters like the one who replied above I guess? haha I never thought I would see one here. People have eyes and their own brain, wise people wouldn't rely on scores on some website. Like great director Martin Scorsese said about these kind of websites “these websites are “devaluing cinema” by giving off the impression that every film is meant to be instantly judged before viewers have time to see it and think about it."

Yeah there is no point of the romance between ML & FL when they barely appear in the same screen together, it is only logical that Fu Rou and Prince Zhou has more chemistry because they love scenes is more elaborate and more screen time than that of ML & FL. Might as well put Prince Zhou as main lead at least the audience wouldn't feel so frustrated

Well I guess you can look forward to episode 52 where they reconcile but at this point with what scriptwriter has done with the main leads (they are practically non-existence) it's really just a sour taste with all the scenes of the main leads that they are trying to compensate nearing the end of the drama.

From the way the producer said it seems they are aiming for summer vacation slot which is between June - August so hopefully it's the nearest June lol

9 episodes to go and the main leads especially the male lead still only appear on like few minutes per episode since episode 20! I think this is the first time I've seen a drama where male lead and female leads are hugely neglected and used as a tools to forcefully inserted into a mess of storyline. This resulted in disjointed storyline of the main leads from the story portrayed in the drama so far to the point whatever the main leads does doesn't matter anyway. When they did appeared together with the few minutes they have, they were saying stupid things and scenes end goes to continue the usual storyline of the palace. It's really a pity because all the actings are very good and what makes me still stay.

Yes! People like to spread this around to descredit saying this show has problems when in fact they are still in post-productions. However the producer has just said in recent interview that they are finally done with finalization and ready to start preparing for broadcast. I can't wait either!

Ren Hao was filming only for four days, his role rarely appears, besides he has just appeared on a music show which means he is not blacklisted, those are just marketing account nonsense. The official ALP account and Tencent never said anything when they are going to broadcast, when the drama is ready then it will broadcast whenever the platform and production decided best.

Last night episodes was quite good, I like the battle scenes very much.

But then I saw a spoiler video that the Empress is going to sentence Queen Han to death for a reason we don't know yet but dang this scriptwriter is getting more and more absurd, if Lu Yunji and Lu Qi who has done so many bad things and they are just general is being pardon so many times, why the hell can't the Empress spare Queen Han?? I love the Sheng and Han family it is one of the driving force I'm still watching this.

Yeah try to hold on very hard now because I like most of the cast acting hopefully it will have a better plot development and climax after this.

I was loving the first 13 episodes but watching it up to 32 episodes now I wonder what was the scriptwriter and Producer thinking let this kind of storyline passed through their QC check. The male lead is barely seen and when he does in the rare 30seconds appearance he is basically just doing nothing, even Lu Yunji and Lu Qi gets a proper screen time and plot development surrounding them. Fu Rou is a tool in the palace that give interesting trivia that pleases the emperor and empress at this point. The great Sheng family is barely given any scenes except for some occassional useless scenes. This is really frustratating because I have not seen bad acting from anyone yet and these rubbish plotline is wasting a perfectly good set of cast! At this point I don't even know whether to continue or not.

I saw some commenter said they prefer the supporting character CP than the boring main leads CP well I wouldn't blame them when the male lead only appears for 20 seconds per episode away from the female lead and when he does, the plot is not doing anything other than making them dumb clingy couple. Xu Kai anf Li Yitong deserve better than this.
