This storyline is has not been moving much if you noticed, Xueying even offered to stay in order to save Jinqiu forgetting his mission to save his mim which is why I said its stagnant. Even episode 21 preview is still on Si Tuhong. In novel Xueying ascend to transcendent is more epic than what was shown in drama. So many additional scenes from unecessary sub-plotlines.

I think this drama should be rename to The Legend of Si Tuhong, he has a complete arc while the main leads storyline is stagnant. Nothing from the original at this point.

Continue watching from episode 3 to 6. The scene of him saving his mom is so heartbreaking. To be powerful but powerless hurts. I like that creepy scenes of them getting out of the water and those demons came out of water like that, its creepy but interesting. I seriously don't see what people are talking about bad cgi. It's decent, I've seen worse in bigger budget drama.

I don't think you will like his future dramas if you think he has been in bad dramas. Because I noticed his route of taking script is heading towards non-mainstream characters and scripts. I like that because I've been bored dropping dramas that people are raving over and it always turns out the same characters setting over and over again. The storyline here is good but I don't think it's your cup of tea.

The opening OST is really good very align with my impression of this drama. I don't know what everyone else see about CGI (and I think obsession with top CGI is overrated nowadays) Ashes of Love has shitty CGI and I don't see anyone complain. I like the fast pace storyline so far, seems to me they merge manhua and anime version.

You worship Yu Zheng so much as Xu Kai's backer or else he wouldn't be where he is as you said, have you seen any of Xu Kai's dramas with Yu Zheng? aka Court Lady, Royal Feast and even Dance of the sky Empire that Yu Zheng arranged for him? He barely appears 5 minute per episode in Dance of the Sky Empire, Court Lady don't even mention it, sometimes his character went missing for 5 episodes and even if he did appear they were so rush with his scenes. I guess this means he can be popular even without being seen much by the audience? Yu Zheng favors and help him by giving this minimal scenes despite being the ML is that how bonus from popular producer help? Funny that you don't mention Lingjian Mountain as one of the contribution to Xu Kai's rose to popularity and even a Youth Communist local newspaper praised his performance in their physical paper distributed nationwide and this role was rejected by 30 people and Yu Zheng even asked him not to take it because "it won't be popular" before he took it, but hey he is talentless and can only rely on Yu Zheng and his looks to succeed right? So according to you people like Xu Kai could never improve and have the chance to act in realistic drama will always rely on Yu Zheng to create projects for him, what was the projects Yu Zheng created for Xu Kai that helps him again according to you?

I love following someone's journey from the bottom because these people always get shunned into a "dark hole" by people like you who already decided who is the elite who deserved to be always at the top and has a good starting point but people like Xu Kai will only be defended by his "obsessed fanbase" because he started from being a "model-->Yuzheng's agency-->Yuzheng's drama ML-->non-Yuzheng drama ML like Bai Lu. The thing is, Xu Kai's non-Yuzheng dramas like Lost in Kunlun and Perfect Husband haven't done well, and his acting got panned. " for sure heading towards a privilege's life without talent supported by a powerful producer and can do idol drama until he is old and irrelevant. I swear some Chinese people like you and the chinese entertainment is the only type of people who would segregate people between elite "educated in acting" who will act in "elitist drama" while people like Xu Kai who is talentless and popular only because being backed by popular producer is deemed only worthy of "idol dramas" and it pays a lot anyway so he is lucky. meanwhile the other part of the world, even a beggar is given a chance.

Yang Hua and his mom battle of the wit is hilarious. It's funny when his mom said "I swore I could beat him!" when Qin Shi managed to get the upper hand over her using her "control complex"

I really really love how Qin Shi and Yang Hua is so mature, they haven't started a romance relationship yet so far but living together and helping each other while being honest with each other's opinion regardless they agree with each other or not is really refreshing. No one is throwing tantrum when an argument ensues, after they are done they just move on as usual and being polite with each other.

Yang Hua's character design is very refreshing. Domineering CEO is kinda overused by now, SO Yang Hua's character settings akin to the proverb "Disguise oneself as a pig to catch a tiger" is very interesting. Especially that little flashback he had how he used to be. He might look timid but he has a very strong opinion and personality who don't simply bow to people except his mom XD

So far the plot has very minimal flaw and hopefully they can keep up this pace!

Unfortunately they are favoring the actor who played Hai because his company is the one producing this drama. Hence so many unnecessary added scenes.

So they have been meddling with the dragon issue for almost 12 episodes and in the end it didn't matter? XD and then they have been fighting for the soul pursuit order to not just use it.
I feel like some of the good characters and good casts are being wasted here. The storyline is not too horrible bad but the director sure have favoritism which actor he wanted to pay attention to detail to. Luo Jiutian has 2 death scenes and both were accompanied with opera and a long slow shot of his supposedly pitiful death which both take up almost 2 episodes each. But the director couldn't even be bothered to give a more than 10 minutes good wrapped up on the main character ending and just doing a shaking of camera which overwhelm the good expression. What did he reduced Luo Yunsong to? he barely has any screentime or doing anything important. The actors are great, the storyline is not bad, but the director and producer is awful.
