Exact opposite for me. I dropped Evernight once and then decided to watch it when I learnt Chen Feiyou is going to play MoRan. And I am really glad I watched it, since I liked Feiyou and since there were many enjoyable parts in it. Therefore this is a drama I'll definitely recommend watching and I did on the Immortality page. But, I have to say, evernight is so far away from being perfect. I didn't like the story with Prince Long Qing for example, and regrettably there was quite a bit of a story devoted to it. I don't like when 'my hand' wants to fastforward during dramas. And that's what I felt while watching it. By the way, there is one song in Evernight I really liked (ending credits). But I was very sorry, that it wasn't used a lot during the drama... I just remember if was in one scene (with Feiyou and flowers:), quite cute...)
I have said many times, that I don't like comparing dramas. But since your post was comparing, I'll tell the difference for me between the two.
Unlike Evernight, I enjoyed DC from the first to the last second. It it's a 'wholesome' drama, a word I could only use about one percent of dramas I've seen. Not a single character, not a single scene that shouldn't have been here. Not a single moment of wanting to go faster... It is also done with such a great artistic taste. I loved every bit of the music, contrary to you. It was surprising, modern. And one of the songs (sung by XZ) is just what I watch TV for... So many emotions when listening to it... This is really a fantastic drama...
As a whole, if Evernight is worth watching for me, DC is Perfect...

It originated in Japan, but its meaning has evolved during several decades. It means one thing in Japan, another in China, and it has a different meaning used by Occident. And its meaning has shifted from manga to other forms of written work and to other media, like Drama, for example.
What do the guidelines mean? BL as in 'what' ?
Is BL here used as an equivalent to 'same-sex contents'? If this is the case, then, does it mean that MDL gives information about Drama with male leads, but doesn't encourage articles about them? Isn't this discriminating against fans, against authors and filmmakers?
But more importantly, what does BL have to do with minors? What does 'same-sex' contents have to do with being a minor or an adult???
Or, does the person who wrote the guidelines mean that 'BL' means 'mature contents'. But then, this is a gross misconception. First of all, one shouldn't forget that the word in 'bl' is love and not 'sex'. And 'BL' works belong to different genres, in exact same manner as works with m/f heroes do.. Also, even if someone wants to write an article about mature work (irrespective of the gender of the leads), then all the person should know is that there are banned topics (sex/nudity, for example, something that is already mentioned in the guidelines).
I hope MDL can give the guidelines more thought and modify them. This is an international community. And I would like to be sure I am not being part of anything discriminatory..

I don't love the drama because of its genre. There are costume fantasies I love and others I started and dropped. This drama is extremely interesting, entertaining, has amusing moments:) ALL of the characters are great. The cast is excellent. And all of them had really great chemistry with each other. The dialogues are well written and finny. The romance is cute, but I don't want to give more information about it, since I am not supposed to:)

You referred to novel fans' more than once. Do you have data? Because, to represent the novel fans you should at least have some statistics. Also, why should I care about an opinion, if what's wrong is the 'reasoning'. To think that a drama should be 'like the adaptation' is a 'simple' idea, a common mistake. But apparently you are thinking, what do the professionals know... And by professionals I am certainly not speaking of just one author.
About the characters... Tangsan is a very strong character, however his force is in something you don't seem to have understood. The same about the other characters, by the way. Instead of comparing the character, you should first of all interpret the character within the work you are watching. To understand 'where his strength' is. His force isn't simply in the 'supernatural' on in 'how he fights (beautiful by the way!!!!), otherwise he'd be a terrible protagonist. I won't write more, since I don't want to write my intetpretations here.
A donghua is a different form of art.. What works in a donghua won't work in a drama, where the roles are interpreted by actors who have heart and soul. And vice versa. The same about the novel by the way. Not speaking about the fact that cinema is a cinematography, directing, acting, etc... How do you compare that? Ot, may be it isn't important to you?
Millions of people love movies (starting from classics, ending with marvel movies), adapted from written works, but there might not be even 5 percent who read.. You don't need then source to be able to judge if a film is good. If something works for the film, then it is good. Because in the end of the day, however true the film is or isn't to a written work, it is a stand-alone work. And also what is 'true' for someone, might not be 'true' to you, since as many opinions as readers...
