I didn't know about the chinese censorship, but knowing or not knowing does not change my perception. The first time I watched it I sensed the Romance in episode 3. By episode 5, I had no doubts as to the nature of the relationship.
Of course, it is ridiculous for me a country censoring any homosexual contents. Or, rather to say, the rules as to what contents should or should not go on the screen should not be based on the gender.
But let's not forget this is the same country where these works are published. This is the same country, where the producers clearly say, they wanted to film a drama 'true' to the novel. The actors of another adaptation clearly state during interviews that the scenario is close to the Novel.
I don't know if you have noticed, but the last line is CQL is thanking MXTX characters. If China really didn't want to show homosexual romance, and was really strict about it,, all of these wouldn't be possible either.
Have you watched the chibi CQL?
The ad before every episode makes a reference to a sex scene in MDZS...
WWX proposing a drink and making a joke about 'every day' and LWJ's ears turning red? Let's not take the censorship committees as idiots:)

I think watching a drama, it is better to 'forget' about the country laws. In fact, if you want to know, We shouldn't even know about any laws. Today reading literature from people who were under repression, wrote in prisons, under censorship, during war, etc... We don't know all of that when we read, and we don't know in which conditions many films were created. What we should only think about is the RESULT.
I am sorry if you don't think that CQL is romantic enough... But I do!!!
If I watch the screen and see one person looking at another expressing love and desire. That's all I need... I can read laws and articles and other people's thoughts... But what I believe is myself...

There is. And it's quite cute...
The reason I said it wasn't perfect, was because there were some side characters I didn't like so much. But the main plot and most of the characters were interesting. And there were really some excellent and fun parts too.

He isn't in season 2, and I have only watched season 1 for now. I liked him in EverNight. So I thought it would be strange watching another season without him... I don't really get the concept:)

I love MDZS. I absolutely do. But whether China has censorship, doesn't have censorship, why they did this or that... All that... I don't care of any of that. What I care of is the result that's perfect for me. I would have never hoped for a better CQL. But, as you said, if they take both leads and make another drama, or a movie, and add a kiss:) Who wouldn't want that???:)

I feel good to know that the Novel has many fans waiting for the adaptation:)
Awaiting this adaptations I watched EverNight. I won't say it's perfect. But it was definitely worth watching for me. There were many episodes towards the middle I really liked and the romance was cute, but I would have wanted more of it... Anyway, I recommend.

Since the thought came to me, I checked for China, and seems like it's June/August:) At least in Beijing.

I don't want a CQL remake, since CQL is already about Love!
But if they make a movie, including more contents from the novel, including sex scenes, I will definitly be in the front row...

Have you checked yourself the date of that article. 2016? And do you really think that reading one article, it is possible to understand the extent of the 'rigidity' of chinese censorship? This is a very complex subject. I am even certain that Chinese, compared to this or that platform, probably bend their own rules...
I will agree by the way with what you said about advantages. And I'll bring 2 examples. Soviet and post soviet cinematography. There were chef-d'ouvres created under soviet censorshipn and this is hardly something we can say about post soviet Russia.
The second example for me would be China versus Korea today. This is personal what I am going to say, but Koreans filming 'violence, serial killers, etc...' how's that better?
Many might not realize, but censorship also means 'quality control'.
Another thing I'll tell, that, even under a lot stricter censorship, the filmmakers and artist in general, will always manage to pass the message they want to pass.
To be clear, nothing that you said was offensive. But a lot of what you say, still, I have to apologize, is based on 'rumours'. It is just that my definition of rumours and yours seems to be different.
ANYTHING not coming from an official source, and being presented as truth or a fact is still a rumour. If you show me an OFFICIAL SOURCE saying that the WOLF wasn't airing because of blood scenes, I'll gladly apologize. I am not saying you didn't read it somewhere. I am saying that when it comes to social media, people hear things from each other and pass down to others, and in the end, it looks like official information, whereas noone can tell where the information came from. I have seen this happen so many times over the last year... Don't you see it happening today on this same page?
I never said China does not censor dramas. I said, the extent of 'rigidity' is not what people think it is. If you are to claim that you know "how strict' chinese censorship is, you need to base your arguments on official sources. But MORE THAN THAT, today, we have already seen several adaptations. CQL, WoH, Killer and Healer. If these adaptations are ROMANCES for millions of fans, how you are going to claim that chinese don't portray romance between men??? And if the relationship in any of these dramas is not 'love' for you, then this discussion can stop here. Because we can write hundreds of other posts, but will not understand each other:)
I am not saying there is no censorship in China. I am saying, and we can get back to it after we both watch 2ha, the relationship between MoRAN and CWN in in immortality is going to be 'love'. THIS is the extent of their 'rigidity'. The reason I am saying this??? Again! The existing adaptations and my own eyes:) In the end of the day, we should believe what we see ourselves... No???

How rigid is chinese censorship if the romance is evident in the other adaptatios? How rigid it is, if even the ads during the dramas have lines from confession scenes or reference sex scenes.
It's exactly because fans 'assume' and don't how rigid chinese are or aren't that they make assumptions, and spread what they hear without questioning anything.
They would have never taken 2ha to make it a drama about friendship:))) It won't say romance but will be one.
For genres, none of the pages gives correct information that should come from official sources. Shouldn't be hard to check the platforms and write correct information. One would think:)
As to tags, it shouldn't say bromance, friendship or whatever, it should say Adapted from a Romance. Because it is:)

The word 'soulmate' or the chinese equivalent is a very interesting word:)

I said it once before that for me, understanding another cannot be 'more' than loving another. Soulmate can define a friend who understands you, but loving someone should also mean 'understanding' someone.
Love , I mean true love like in the novels:), can't happen between two people who don't 'know each other, who don't have the same 'core'.therefore, whether or not the term soulmate was used in the Tale of Wanderers, as an example, they were soulmates in the Novel.

I don't like putting all dramas in one pot calling them 'bl' dramas, because, yes, they are 'more than that'. They have their specific genres, and offer more than can be explained by one 'general term'.

But if you asked me if WoH is a romance. It's an Evidence for me. First time WKX appeared on the Screen, I knew it was a romance....
I won't impose my thoughts on you though. What I care about, is not for all of us to think the same. What I care about is that whatever comments are written, they aren't their to spread wrong 'information', especially coming from narrow-mindedness, not to call it otherwise.

I don't know where the quote from Lan Wangji comes, since it's neither from the Untamed nor ffrim the Novel.
The mere fact that it mentions '13 years' should have already told the author that it couldn't possibly be from the Drama.
When writing articles, it's better to include information from dramas seen personally or at least include information after verifying it...

One thing I thought was interesting was Chu Ran's relationship with the leads. And also, how the nature of the relationship between the leads was shown to us 'through' Chu Ran's perceptions... Well done!
I was also pretty invested in the story between Zhan Zhu Bai and Yu Tank Chun. It's nice watching a drama, where the relationship gives way to many different interpretations...

I can understand why an actor would choose WKX's role...
But if we had them change their roles, we would be watching a completely different drama:)
Let Gong Jun stay WKX... I have to admit, that I mostly watched this drama for WKX...
