Don't worry! ML will understand her and chase after her until the last ep.
Of course, it's a cdrama, he should understand her and chase after her. Those days aren't far away when writers will make the male lead simp for a cheating female lead.
Never gonna watch Sabrina Zhu's drama until all the episodes are out and have good reviews. I should have learned my lesson from Binary Love—so frustrating!!
I find the simp ML trope really getting annoying. If ML rejects or breaks up with FL, he keeps simping for her until no self-respect left. On the other hand, if the FL rejects / breaks up with him, he’s expected to keep pining for her until she opens up, and in some dramas, the ML crushes on the FL for years, waiting even when she’s in a relationship. ML always stays devoted, never crossing boundaries with other women, having eyes only for her.
Meanwhile, almost every drama has 3-4 male pursuers for the FL who constantly help her, yet she never maintains proper distance from them all under the guise of so-called women’s empowerment, even after when she knows their intentions.
I get that most drama viewers are female, but I can bet many still prefer a balanced, reasonable, and logical storyline over these tired clichés.
Don’t know why Arthur Chen picked this stupid script, there's nothing good about it, neither the storyline nor the romance. In terms of romance, it’s even worse than Sabrina Zhu's Binary Love. Her script choices are getting worse...
A drama where ML (Arthur Chen), whose every drama I've liked, vs the FL (Sabrina Zhuang), whose dramas (at least the ones I've watched) I didn't like. So far, it's good or below par?
To make a better/par drama than the original, all they had to do was ensure the FL was less annoying and the gold digger got punished. But to make FL looked good, they ruined the ML, SML (badly) and even FL’s father, yet the FL’s character still sucks. How can a Thai drama remake be even more over the top than the Thai drama itself ? 🤦 Chinese dramas always find a way to ruin the source material. The only good remake I can remember is Begin Again.
I don’t understand why many people are claiming that the ratings are inflated by bots—I completely disagree. Only 7.5k people have rated this drama so far, compared to Hidden Love, which has 56k+ ratings. Most neutral viewers haven’t rated it yet. If they don’t like it, the rating will decrease over time, as happens with many dramas after the initial hype fades. If neutrals enjoy it, the rating will likely stay around 9, similar to Hidden Love.
Finally finished the last ep. Wish that, they had portrayed the male lead as less obsessive and the second breakup could have been handled better. Also, the character of Mu Cheng felt unnecessary, he added nothing to the story.
Zhang Ruo Nan showed significant improvement as an actress and did a great job stepping out of her comfort zone. Bai Jing Ting also delivered a solid performance, though his character felt one-dimensional. The supporting cast did well too, especially the actor who played the uncle he was excellent.
Overall, it’s a good drama. For me, it’s an 8.5/10.
Those who are saying that drama handles trauma better than novel can explain what changes she underwent during those six months. Did she attend any therapy sessions or did anyone help her? In the next episode's preview, FL's uncle attacked the male lead. Will she leave him again to save him?
As an adult, FL should have faced her family problems head-on. This time, ML should solve her problems and leave her alone until she apologizes and opens up about her situation. If not, ML will have to deal with this kind of situation again and again in the future.
High budget C-dramas have almost stopped creating annoying SFL characters, but sadly, they still give space to Mu Cheng types SMLs who add nothing to the plot except annoy the audience.
If FL wasn't looking for any relationship, what was her reaction when she assumed ML had a son and treated him as if he had cheated on her? Really inconsistent character.🤡🤡
Usually, most of the friends to lovers are annoying, have annoying 2nd leads/ exes. But this drama is enjoyable and easy to watch even though has few boring EPs, future watchers will definitely enjoy this drama when it will be completed, even 2nd lead's storyline is well written.
