I just sought for something naive in order to demonstrate how Asian “art” might look like that seeks to avoid anything controversial. But you’re certainly right that there are many more examples out there that perfidiously attempt to employ art for political reasons, such as steering social relations into a direction deemed desirable.

It doesn’t matter indeed. Let’s hope we won’t be put off as in the tent scene though… It is just funny how the play writer named the two guys… Ram’s family name is Wira (warrior / hero) and the name King’s mother had in mind for her son initially was Khwai Khwit (“the butting buffalo”). I mean, could we ask for more action? :D

I chose this one because it is a totally harmless scene. And it follows the voiced demand for art that does not depict „unhealthy relationships“. What could be less abusive than children hugging and lots of flowers? ;-)

When King bade farewell, he said that they are going to meet at the condo, – meaning his condo. So, as long as the family matter is not sorted out yet, Ram will share King’s bed… Let’s hope he will receive lots and lots and lots of consolation… and that we will be allowed to watch… I just wonder, who will wield the sword, and who will hold the scabbard? Any ideas?

This series is as harmless as it can get. Every single James Bond movie shows more cruelty than a soap like this, and people still don’t turn into professional killers, even after binge-watching all of them on a weekend. Unfortunately humans are by nature rather unpleasant creatures with lots of imaginative capacity, who don’t need inspiration to act evil.

Unlikely that Thara would not have noticed it before, unlikely that he would have cared, and unlikely that this would appear as a topic in a Thai soap opera.

My impression is that the translation “brother” does not really convey the full message. I think the tactic is to establish an acceptable relationship between them first, that offers legitimate cover for regular phone calls and meetings. And after having built up trust and appreciation, the next stage will follow for sure.
Besides Thara is still the doctor responsible for Frong’s mother. It would be kind of inappropriate to romantically engage with the son of your cancer patient… (Even though having a son in law who happens to be a medical doctor is certainly a bonus!)

Ha ha ha, imagine a bed scene as the one in A Frozen Flower, with King and Fighter…
