Finished this today, all I have to say is that I'm in awe of the female lead's acting... the changes in expression are very telling. Especially for switching between the personas.
Caught my eye just from the snippet and I have to say I have no regrets about binge watching all 16 (hour long) episodes in 2 days :D It was engaging and I can't stop myself from being amazed at how uncanny the resemblance between the young and grown up versions of the the two main leads is...
It popped up at me on Netflix and I though it sounds interesting, so I watched the first episode, but I have to say I am very disappointed and straight up saddened that I didn't read any reviews before I even watched that 1 episode.. I just cannot watch that with 10% of the scenes being shot in the modern now standardised way for k dramas, while the rest is shot in the very old fashioned way that feels cheep and the switching between those styles makes it painfully obvious...
First off, super glad that it's being positively received by someone without any context of the source material…
No worries, you latest comment is actually a fair take from your point of view and I don't really find anything overly critical or negative about it, I was more talking about some of those more "critical" takes where anything that is different from the source material or the original adaptation is degraded :)
I'll honestly say, that some of these negative comments surprised me a little. I get that adaptations of different works will not always live up to the expectations of the general public, but from a perspective of someone who has not read the webtoon, nor watched the Korean adaptation, I find this series to actually be fun and rather nicely done. I am not saying that it is the best series that is out there, but it isn't half bad and deserves to get a tiny bit more credit for what it is.
I've loved the first episode and already dislike Faye... I really hope she exposes herself with the chat switching by accidentally forgetting to switch to her alt account.
I don't know how people rated it 10/10 ....This drama is Toxic af , annoying and slow as well. each and every…
Was the series toxic af? yeah.. but what we have to understand as viewers now is that 99.9% of series that were being made at that time were just like that as the genre was quite new and rather misunderstood and even though I would likely not rate it as high as I did when I watched it back in 2018, I'll certainly never forget that this was one of my early BLs and I think it definitely helped with giving a perspective to the future directors on where they'd go different and how to make some really good series. (Tbh we wouldn't be there without all of the early BLs even if they were rather toxic and sometimes even immoral...)
WooooW! I have only one question here. How did you manage to turn this comment section into one of the shittiest…
Honestly, no idea.. some people just have the need to bash everything that is even slightly different than their expectations and I'm not even sure I want to understand that. I personally tend to watch all of the series I can find as I want to always have something to watch. Even though I can't say I've always liked all of the series I've watched, I do not see the need to criticize any of them unless the acting is horrendous, the plot is non-existent and they're overall just badly put together, none of which applies to this series...
With all the hate I see this show getting, I couldn't help myself, but leave this comment here. I've just watched the show and with fresh memory of it I can say that this was the most enjoyable season of Inferno I've watched and I've seen all three of them. It also unexpectedly surprised me a few times, one of them being the "2nd inferno" reveal right around the start and as a whole just made my day better.
I honestly don't know where to place my expectations :D I have watched the original Japanese adaptation and love it with my soul, I'm actually quite worried because even though I like the main actors, I've never been a fan of "redos" of shows that were already adaptations as they usually just tend to not meet my expectations. There are obviously exceptions like the Stay With me (which is just brilliant), so I guess we'll have to see and I'm nevertheless excited to watch it.
Honestly, after watching the first episode, this is a rather cute and uplifting series. Since one of its tags is comedy, I wasn't expecting anything serious, since I've already seen many Thai sitcom like dramas (most of them BLs) and Thai dramas tend to have their specific kind of humour that not everyone will appreciate, so although I find it nice, cute and rather fun to watch, it isn't for everyone :)
Honestly, a rather great series up until like episodes 6-8... then it just looses most of its charm. It's not a bad series, but would have been much better if the script for the last few episodes actually had a set pace and didn't feel all over the place.
Me too! Season 1 was okay, but somewhat anticlimactic. Season 2 had me on the edge of my seat! You know I only…
Well, I have to agree that season 1 was not it, to me it was more like Changmin and his harem than anything... so, when I started season 2 (after the first episode), I was scared that it would be the same way and we will end up with Seonwoo and his harem, but luckily it turned out not to be the case and the show was really nice.
I've started this show two days ago and finished it yesterday (literally finished it in 2 days). I can not express how much stress but happiness this show has caused me, all of the sad moments watching Jun-Seong struggle... But in the end I have to say this has become my new favourite dating show with the best outcome I could have never wished for.
