The character for fish is another tho. The one used for YuFu is 余夫, while the fish character is 鱼. So while it is also true its a play for fisherman its just how it sounds.

I am not very sure but i think it's 余 (Yú) as odd/extra/spare and 一 (Yī) as one. The 夫 (Fū) one is husband/man. So YúFū odd/extra/spare husband/man and YúYī odd/extra/spare one lol.

I think they did so, cuz they may not be able to fully show how ShenLi was tortured and to what extent. She was basically killed and resurrected, her power gone, her senses present here and there, and tortured blue and black. I dont think they will show all that torture. Also. They can summerize her parents story in 1 and a half episodes if not less, lady Jin's cave will be heavily cut down, and the final part of the novel is in what... big fight is only like 7 and a half chapters (69 to 77.1). Their separaction is the other half of chapter 77. So yeah.

No, he froze the water to preserve Shenli and/or her ashes so he can find her dead or alive. The other function the freezing of water has is that he concentrated his divine power in his feet to search for her under the ice. Thats the purpose.
