I think they mistake the kiss as her showing fear, cuz right before pulling her back and telling her its too late to leave she aint sure what he will do, she expects everything but that kiss and you can clearly see her change her expression to shock. Its a few seconds change, but its clearly seen when she changes expressions.

Some things cannot be changed tho, she is going against her fate and yan lin and the princess' fate as well as even fangyin's fate to an extent. So some things cannot be fully changed but the consequences can be mitigated.

You know that he the rebels knew he aint the CP when they saw him so they killed the 300 boys infront of his very eyes. As for Xue Yuan's involvement, id say he knew what his sister did, so in order to hide her crimes and clear the reputation of the Xue family, he went ahead and didnt care his son is taken as a hostage and went on to fight the rebels. Id say tho, he had another personal gain from all that - his firstborn son would die, he'd bring his lover that was pregnant with his daughter as a wife and that way all their fortune will stay in their hands and not into 'Yan mixed blood' as Dingfei's mother is a Yan and they clearly dont like each other.

He aint dumb, he just doesnt know the whole truth. Shen Jie, the current crown prince, is the one that ended up the emperor in the previous life and he was led by his nose by the Xue family and Xie Wei's plots were easier to execute.

Actually Yan Lin's past was changed a little. In the past his whole family was killed and he was exiled to the border. In this life if i remember correctly only half of his family survived but he and his father are still alive (may be wrong here, but there is a slight change in the consequences of the treason plot). Its the Princess that did die in the previous life when she went to marry into the neibouring state. 3 years after her marriage she was kept as a hostage and was killed as the emperor didnt wanna send guards to war to save her as far as i remember.

XW confirmed it, the translation was messed up a bit. XW did say "the younger generation is here" in mandarin instead of the translated "I am here" so he confirmed it for his uncle.

No he did not, but if i remember correctly somewhere earlier or in ep 11 it was mentioned he is sorta obsessive or prone to obsession, so i guess he got obsessed with setting up JXN and XW 🤣🤣🤣

Its cuz he used too much power to draw and hold it before releasing it and it cut his fingers cuz the string when fully pulled is like a knife - sharp. That is why people nowadays can use a protective gloves against injuries like that. <-- as far as i know.

Xie Wei basically confirmed it, but that was lost in the translation. While he was kneeling infront of the slates XW said: "ancestors of the Yan family, the younger generation is here", but that was reduced to "I am here" in the english translation.
