3 already in the year? Can you please share which dramas? Have some extra viewing space over here. 😅
Yes, do! Filter was wonderful 😍 It has a bit of almost bad taste humour popping up in the first episodes, but I think from ep7 onwards it is wonderful and gets better and better.
Owl BrideI must say it is the most forgettable since its only 2 episodes and there is not much depth to the story.…
Agree with your points. But for the puppet demon I think the theme was more complex than a puppet wanting to be a human. It‘s a daughter struggling with feeling/being not good enough for her father’s love/acceptance/respect etc. And on the other hand a father who loves his daughter even though she does evil and how to deal with the situation.
It is not clear to me that Song Zuer is completely out of the woods yet. I suspect bc of her extensive pipeline…
Thanks! I also think that mini dramas are not the answer in the long run. I personally don’t like them. I’m quite positive that changes are going to happen though. There already are ‚new‘ ideas here and there.

Yes, they should have gone with the mother being a demon. Why give all the hints and then don’t make it so? Maybe they were undecided or maybe they really shot two versions. I really didn’t like the development of the story from ep30 onwards. It felt like typical plot elements to get tears from the audience.

Thank you for explaining. This doesn’t sound so good. What do you think is the future of Chinese dramas then? I‘ve noticed that Tencent is making a lot of mini dramas. I wonder if that’s also because of financial aspects.
It is not an Open Ending. It is a definite Sad ending.I am having a broken heart right now so it is hard for me…
Even if this looks to be a sad ending, as long as both are alive there are still endless possibilities. This doesn’t depict reality, the writer can write a continuation of their story, theoretically, because I don’t think there will be a season 2. But in our minds we can write a HE for them. Just like Xuanye was long lost, maybe there is someone else long lost who could rule instead of him. Or Banxia turns into a demon/spirit. Anyway, I‘m disappointed with the ending. A HE would have been so refreshing and much more in tune with the drama up to ep 29. To show that they could overcome all obstacles and would be willing to stand by each other would be way more meaningful. From ep30 onward I feel it’s just the usual route of devastating the viewer.
This drama is winning for the aspects that keep viewers engaged and entertained. The characters. The interesting…
Very well said! ❤️ I have the same sentiments as you. And I love how the romance was always there from the beginning, like a music score, sometimes soft in the background, sometimes at the very centre. And I loved all the philosophical questions this drama raised. Hopefully your feeling that this will be a HE is right! There were some points throughout the drama where I had a feeling they were foreshadowing a SE. But at least the Chinese title is hinting at a HE imo. If they give us a SE or OE I really hope they’ll also give us a second season.
