I understand your anger, I was there last night! Luckily the badminton contest cure my anger! What important is we get to see how they work together: they eat dinner together a lot, they play badminton together. I’m very happy to see they gel well together, and had fun. Oh last and not least, able to see BL and ZLH still talk to each other on scream night despite the dating rumours and all the hate throwing at BL (not pretty enough) and ZLH (can’t act 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️) made me extremely happy. But because she knew the children of the legitimate wife will get everything better: better marriage, better honor, better education, etc. she will be first in line. Whereas because she is only a concubine, her daughter will always be second, and will not be able to marry high ranking officials or be his wife, and can only be his concubine. So to make sure her daughter has a brighter future, she switched them. I have a feeling she purposely did something and use it as an excuse to go to the country side so that JXN can’t be close to her mother, reduce the threat of being discover and harming her daughter even further

With ZZ, she will have to make herself doing things that he likes and she has zero interest in. While he would be awkwardly or quietly do whatever she likes. They will be polite with each other. But not so passionately in the bedroom lol. I do believe in amazing bedroom “antics” for a long lasting relationship lol 🤭 we are human after all, to say not enjoying it/that not important is you kidding yourself (of course, for some ppl that might not be the case for one reason or another, but on average, I would say that is also important lol)

There was no sign of 3rd party, but if the man/woman over time feel like something is missing, in this day and age, they can get divorced, back then, not so much. So I think it’s the break of time away from ZZ that gives her a new perspective in who she should choose as her partner for life. Because if she truly loves him (not talking about what happen in the book), she wouldn’t be able to move on that easily (kinda like love rain lol. The FL was heartbroken because she thinks her first love doesn’t love her, but once she got pursued by ML, she totally forget the other guy lol)

I would say infatuated first love. In first love, if you like someone, n that person like you back. That’s it, you have love. Then you realise your personality don’t match, that you have to constantly compromise, etc. whereas once you get over your first love, with your second, you tend to judge how you feel being by his side, what feeling he gives you, etc. first love, you are happy just to be with the dude, even if you get to the stage where both of you not sure what to do next lol. But that’s ok, if you don’t fight too badly, and he’s good to you, then that’s it, right? If you are lucky, he doesn’t cheat on you or he never meet someone more suitable, then he will stay with you, and you just have to settle. Or you could realise there possibly someone better suitable for you, he might not be as good, as rich, whatever, but he makes you at ease and be yourself. He understands you, and you get him. When you find that kind of person, and you know that person likes/love you the same way you do, it’s hard to let go. All first love breakup hurts. If it doesn’t hurt, it’s not real love. So yes, I agree with you that it’s a first love, but like most first love, it’s infatuated love lol (unless it stem from being friends/soulmate first then love)

Seriously, i know douban is bad. But with this, I lost all hope for douban. That site is a joke! Any drama that is underrated, would have its score super inflated, and any drama that is popular, would get super underrated 😒
