Yes, to protect herself, but she misunderstood. As you watch along, you will see XW is the one consistent character, not just from beginning to end but last life and this life. And JXN finally realised, and that’s why at the end, she “dream” of what happened to the last XW, because it’s logically how he will get there. And in a sense, our man has been loving her for 2 life times, disregarding of whether or not she will love him back 🥺

Hardly overrated. In a sea of crappy cdrama that has the first 10eps or so great, mediocre middle, and then crappy ending, this drama is literally above all of those! It has great storyline, great acting, great OST. It started off with a bang, and with each episode, it keeps on building up the tension and doesn't let go. The costumes are beautiful without being overboard, simple yet elegant. It also ended everything beautifully (and not a 90s HE and we're done!), while having insane chemistry! No draggy feeling, no skip/FF feelings. There are many great cdrama out there, and a lot of them don't have all these qualities together.

His face has soft features (sharp if you see it at the right angle - so sharp but it has to be on the side profile), but that helps making him look harmless frontal, side profile = deadly menaced! His voice is also deep, and that gives you the calm feelings, until he snares and glare at you 🤣 my favourite scenes were when he was behind Xue daddy, observing him, and devilishly smile at how his prey has fallen onto his trap. And when he said: and now what? You are going to run away from me? After the cave kiss. I’m going to check out his next drama for sure 🤣

It’s a mixed really. Cdrama tends to be happy ending in the olden day unless it’s Taiwanese series made by Chiung Yao (she loves to torture viewers 🤣), or kdrama in the 90s (the amount of cancer/disease ppl have is mind blowing 🤣). Recently, cdrama decided to be like kdrama in the 90s with sad ending 🙄😒 most ppl love happy ending, so I don’t think this trend of SE is catering for international audience. Cdrama is just trying to make their series memorable with SE 😒
Oh I think I know the scene you talked about (the frame of BL in the rain yelling), the Vietnamese article constantly citing that photo lol 😒😒😒 hard to miss! Geez, I like that scene 😑 grrr!
