An Asadora with Kawai Yuumi would be great indeed!! It's not impossible I guess, she plays Imada Mio's younger sister in Anpan. It wouldn't be the first time an actress debut in a Asadora with a second role, and pursue with a main one later on.
For the few episodes I saw from Anpan, it looks cute and interesting, but I'm still waiting to see if it would be completed to watch it. I hate to start a series and not be able to watch it till the end (well, like everyone! :) )

Haha, I didn't watch Gegege no Nyobo, but It almost makes me want to give it a try to see how bad it is! :D
But as I already don't have time to watch those that seem great, I'll pass I guess. :)

The recently announced Kaze, Kaoru (from spring 2026) with Mikami Ai (I like her too) seems interesting.

Yeah me too, there's a lot of Asadoras I still have to watch.
Lately I'm more into Yorudoras, they are more often subbed recently, episodes length is the same as the one in an Asadora, but only 32 episodes, which is easier to add to schedule. :)

FX announced lately that season 2 will start filming in January 2026, and diffusion likely in early 2027.
There will be no confirmation of a season 3 until season 2 premiere and performs. ;)

Reading you is so heartwarming! My japanese is not good enough to watch series without subs (not to mention making subs myself.)
But as a watcher, I never drop a series before the end, and if I was able to sub one, I'm pretty sure it would be the same (even if I'm not in the shoes of a subber.)

But if, for whatever reason, someone want or have to drop one, if they could announce it, maybe someone could pick it up instead, even if the chances are low as you said.
Like, if only one episode was sub, perhaps the chances will be higher.

100% agree with all that you said about the j-drama fansubbing community controlling/possessive over their subtitles.
Many years ago (I'm talking about 10, 15 years ago), it was easier. There were only a few websites, I was only going on one, which request to connect but without any conditions and all the subtitles were free to download. It's still exist, but now it's a source among so many others... And it's sometimes a real treasure hunt to be accepted (and to remember which subtitles are on which platform. :) )

But I'm really not sure that would be possible for you, since the first three seasons were subtitled, but not the fourth (final) one (nor the last Special nor the movie).

I'm talking about Kinkyu Torishirabeshitsu. I loved that series so much, I really don't know why nobody picked up the final one (and why Netflix seems to buy only the first three - I don't have Netflix, but it seems so.)

I agree, I prefer soft subs either than hardcoded subs too. Soft subs allow for editing (I don't like when the subs are written on the very bottom on the screen or when the font is too "fancy"), but well, when there's no other option, I'm getting used to it.

Anpan looks cute, I didn't start it yet, but I love Imada Mio, so I'm glad to be able to see her in this one! :)

Like you said, I understand as well if they decide to drop it, but not only they don't communicate about it, but also, from the start, it wasn't rocket science to assume it was going to be a lot of effort to sub an Asadora, it's like running a marathon without training or without be mentally prepared.
This season, I'm glad someone reliable start subbing Anpan. I have hope they're pursuing it till the end.

And btw, I must ask: does your nickname have anything to do with the Andor series by any chance? (I must ask, cause I such a big fan of this series ! :)) )

Even just last season, I think I have two or three JDrama with just one episode subbed, and then... No more news, so we assume they are dropped...

And as you said, I appreciate and support every fansubber too ! But man... Just one sub ?! :(
What frustrate me the most is the dropped ones when there were only one or two episodes left... There are probably circonstances... But sometimes maybe not...

Aww I'm so, so glad you also loved VR Ojisan!! :)) I've found it so cute and touching, and it addresses serious topics too. It's very subtle and original, one of my favorite ones from 2024. :)

I've also watched Percent by the way, and Wago Yui was amazing in it, so I'm very pleased to see her again in Vanilla na Mainichi.
