All_In

I have watched 2 episodes and plan to continue. It is a tropey k-drama with four friends working in the fashion industry. Keep expectations middle of the road for sure and it's only 8 episodes.

I've watched only one episode and agree that 12 eps are enough.

Yep, I call it the bait and switch. You show up for fun and lighthearted with a big side of romance and you get birth secrets, death and destruction.

I enjoyed a lot of this drama (first half more than second) but it is getting way overhyped which leads people to think it is perfect and it most definitely is not. The gal did not love the dude for a loooooong time. I did fast forward through a lot of the political stuff because I've watched quite a few C-dramas and seen one evil member of the court and psycho princess etc seen them all.

Me too. I don't think a C-drama has ever improved by moving the story into the palace even with the most awesome empress, emperor and consort ever. Still some successful big dramatic moments like her family being the ones who had her back, especially mom.

I've seen people judge whether a drama will succeed or not based on the posters being underwhelming!

That's a lot of work. Is he heading off to the military in the next year or so? I liked CEW in My ID is Gangham and Top Mgmt and he was okayish in Rookie Historian. He reminds me of another idol actor who does light comedic type work well but has trouble with heavier drama. I like his vibe as a whole and how he has really stood by his group over the years also. Yeah, he gets these roles because of his looks but he hasn't ruined a drama for me so hopefully one of these will work out.

I eventually dropped Young Lady, but I will give credit that the original amnesia story worked in the beginning. It was funny and everyone got to see the guy in a different light. They just didn't know when to stop. That's the problem with the family dramas. I'm fine with some makjang but they just can't handle the episode count. (That actress is super charming and hoping to see her again.)

I liked the first two episodes. The story and characters were set up well. KSJ really does shine in dramas.

It's like catching lightning in a bottle that recognition. I do feel for him. He will get some hype when he returns but if his first drama back is a dud whatever leftover hype will go away. I've been surprised by some of the actors who have gone back to weekend family dramas so it's a tough industry.

My thought was the father should have passed the bar and moved to Busan. I mean they have lawyers outside Seoul. Probably would have worked just as well but then we wouldn't have this drama. Anyway, the whole cliche/trope of a birth secret in a k-drama in the year 2022 is hilarious to me. Now if we just get some amnesia.

It's my understanding they have lawyers helping with the legal stuff. I feel that they get that stuff right but a lot of the questioning of witnesses and courtroom antics are a bit much but I don't expect reality from doc/cop/lawyer dramas. Suspension of reality is key.

The Master's Sun is my all time favorite Hong Sisters drama. It is one of the few k-dramas I've re-watched. Just in world building, pacing, heart, acting...everything worked. I love the lead love line in The Greatest Romance but didn't love all the love triangle stuff but one of their best in terms of a romance story, however, I don't know how it would hold up if I tried to rewatch.

Okay, Heirs is NOT a Hong Sisters drama. My brain broke.

I can't remember why I stopped watching. One of those things where I went out of town and wasn't motivated enough to jump back in but obviously it was a huge hit for all parties involved. I might start watching in between episodes of this Alchemy drama since I'm doing a live watch.

"often" not always. I didn't get past episode 4 of Hotel del Luna. I'm thinking of the Pearl Diver and her guy in Jeju Island Gatsby, I recall the start of one in Nine Tailed Fox but I never finished the drama, Heirs had a side story with one of the teen characters moms and her long lost love etc Not always a huge part of the story but something else going on. If this drama is really 30 episodes, they are gonna need something.

Someday I'm gonna have to give Hotel Del Luna another try.

The C-dramas drive me nuts with the filler even the ones I like. I ff with no regrets.

In my experience, the Hong Sisters often have a loveline with an older couple in their dramas so it does look like it is going this way here.

Okay, I love the original and think the leads were fantastic. Having said that, the last few episodes went makjang and I think could be improved. There I said it. Don't know if I even have access to this show but I'll check back and see if it works out.
