I think it’s because of legal and financial issues, his dad is a liability. So if he marries his spouse will…
Didn't Korea get rid of inherited debt? I think they did. Doesn't mean that some don't think it is still an obligation but legally I don't think kids can be held liable anymore. I do think you are right and that is why he is against marriage though. (I actually think some celebrities pay because they don't want the scandal but they really should out the parents so they will stop ripping people off.)
I'm watching this because I really liked Park Min Young, and I liked the start of the drama and I also like how…
I have no issue with him not wanting marriage but that is something you tell someone pretty early in a relationship. It shouldn't have come out like it did. While I agree with some that a loving relationship doesn't always need to end in marriage, I think there needs to be a realization that in Korea there will be stigma to living together and, if there are kids, they will pay a steep price for this lifestyle. So by the female lead saying she is never going to get married, she's also basically saying she is never going to have kids. Fine if that is her choice but I think they are dosing us with extra drama because her co-worker had a bad day at the office and isn't happy with her husband right now.
I like this drama quite a bit as it deals with real issues in relationships but last week's episodes were a little off for me.
This drama proves that you can take all those tired tropes and still make a fun drama. I think it is probably a good thing it is only 12 episodes though.
Gives me Doom at your service vibe where female lead diagonised with disease. Male lead is from Her Private Life…
I never thought of Ryan Gold as being a narcissist. He actually seemed like a pretty solid guy for a k-drama lead male anyway.
However, your Doom reference has me wondering about this drama. I didn't make it too far into Doom and I really like both the lead actors so it was a bummer.
Have you ever worked in the service industry? People complain about everything and they call and complain and…
I think the drama over does it a bit but people are high maintenance. Anyway, on You Tube if you put in Ikea Employee TicTok, you will get to it and I looked and the comedian is Scott Seiss. He started it on Tic Tok and it went viral because so many people could understand. "The meatballs ain't that good" still makes me laugh. Check it out and let me know what you think. I've never checked out any of his other comedy besides the Ikea Cust. Srv ones. (In my own life, I saw a customer get in a kerfluffle with a manager over the way the manager was treating the employee so it does get crazy out there.)
EP 7 :1- Seriously do people call every 2 minutes to complain about such stupid stuff like their child being unable…
Have you ever worked in the service industry? People complain about everything and they call and complain and they are not shy about it. You Tube has a comedian who does a bit on working in Ikea customer service that has me crying with laughter it is so funny...because it's true. I think irl the people losing out on $$ like the fishermen are the people who they'd hear from the most.
Another good episode.First of all, this is not a fluffy teen drama. This is primarily targeted towards adult audiences.…
I kind of get wanting to have it out with the ex in private hence dragging him away by the tie. I think he never grew up totally and is like a man-child because she always took care of everything. He doesn't have to save $ because she did. He doesn't hone his writing craft because she helped. It's great they have given more nuance (or the actor has) to what could have just been a standard cheater type character.
I know people don't think the FL has chemistry with the ML but I'm just loving how they work things out even though they are in serious rebound relationship territory.
I usually drop at some point in the first 3 episodes. Gave it a go and didn't work for me...no harm done. However, recently dramas have managed to hold my attention to around episode 8 or 9 and then go to heck. I don't even officially drop, I just forget to go back and watch. I really think more should go to 12 episode format and tighten up the stories a bit. Oh, and I didn't watch TKEM because the buzz was pretty bad but I was tempted to give it a go with lower expectations....this just cured me of that thought.
Reading the comments here is always interesting to me. I found episode 7 to be the best in the series. The "move in" conversation was grounded in what both parties had been through. Progression or realization is actually seen in all the relationships. I like that even though the 2nd male lead is growing up, he still has plenty of work to be done. Like there is no magic wand to fix character flaws and situations that happened over years (like relying on the FL to handle everything.)
I get some thought it wasn't exciting but this actually is in the rom/com slice-of-life category. It's working for me anyway.
Ep 6: Misunderstandings, misunderstandings. I really don't like it when they drag the issue when it can be solved…
I had to laugh because what you say is true but I think they've worked out misunderstandings on this show relatively quickly. I am used to k-dramas where it takes 3 episodes! But, yes, to being candid/blunt/direct whatever works.
Sorry but I completely disagree. 14 YEARS he's been living away and missing important events!! The must feel so…
They both drive me crazy. If she wanted to live closer to her husband, fight for it. Say I'm gonna stay closer to where you work because we are going to be a functional family. She owns some of that herself and, yeah, he should have as well like the boss guy who basically said I can't be away from my family. They had choices and they both blew it.
I don't like it but I don't not like it. I just feel like so many dramas are so bland now compared to how they…
I think this drama is okay and easy enough to watch though, yeah, it won't be super memorable. Having said that, I've realized that there are so few really addictive, memorable dramas in the past # of years. Even the relationship in Red Cuff Sleeve kind of stagnated through around 4 episodes.
they really took the drama out k-drama nowadays that's why i am prefering c-drama lately why is the romance always…
I have really enjoyed several C-dramas over the years, but I can't handle the filler anymore. 40 to 50 episodes and the drama could be half the # and still work well. And then there are J-dramas where sometimes they actually should add another episode or two. I'm like the Goldilocks of drama watchers; they can't get the episode count right.
Hey guys getting mixed opinions about this drama some are saying that this one is boring and some are totally…
I think it is an easy enough watch. There are actual stories regarding other people in the weather world so it is not just the leads. It's not super awesome and it doesn't suck. I think people have crazy expectations on k-dramas when most of the time we have trouble getting a functional story. I think my main worry was the lead actor being on the younger side but it actually has worked fine (through episode 6).
Jin Seok was just friends with Mi Jo and Mi Jo introduced Jin Seok to Chan Young. JS and CY instantly fell in…
They are basically having what is termed an emotional affair. CY can't move on as long as JS is around and it's been going on for years and years. I don't think MiJo approves of the emotional affair, but I do think she is friend enough to know that CY is giving up forming any kind of healthy romantic relationship because of the dude.
why kiss scene in episode 3 kind bit disappoint 😂, while we got better kiss scene on eps 1, seem downgrade…
It was weird. It was one of those old school never-been-kissed before k-drama kisses that didn't really fit the age or experience of the parties involved.
The first 4 episodes were a little rough but episodes 5 & 6 calmed things down a bit and since it is only 12 episodes, I'll probably finish up. It's okay and easy to watch but nothing spectacular.
(I actually think some celebrities pay because they don't want the scandal but they really should out the parents so they will stop ripping people off.)
