Yes. Even with that, I think the drama will have to take liberties with the time. I think he took a looooong time to get her to put a ring on it.

Chemistry is well done and the story grows as the drama goes on, but this isn't just a pure romance. It's really the story of one of the most dysfunctional of all Korean royal families. So I would say be in it for the story not just the romance but the leads do sizzle.

Historically girls were considered marriage ready after their cycles started. The queen in this drama married that old coot of a king when she was 15. I mean this is pretty much all over the world because not that long ago, you were lucky if you made it to 50. Circa 2021 it has a high ick factor and I've never been so happy to be in the here and now.

The drama kind of settles down as it goes and actually, unlike a lot of dramas, gets better. It's not perfect, don't get me wrong but better than one might expect from the end of episode 1. The actors - all of them - do an outstanding job.

I watch a lot of historicals and whether it is kdrama or The Crown, better to run a inn or be a minor noble out in the country.

I honestly have always thought they didn't have the money to do it right. The gal who adapted (wrote) it did Misaeng so I was surprised when the story was underwhelming. If they couldn't do it right, they should have just skipped.

Dramacool is not a legal site and is known to have some nasty viruses so just beware. I was clueless back in the day but was watching a show there once and "Don't Steal Our Subtitles" scrolled across the drama episode and it was from the Viki subtitling crew so, yeah, totally stealing and DC didn't even clean that up.

I am struggling to start episode 9 as well. I just realized this is a 16 episode drama when, for some reason, I thought it was 12.

She is incredibly savvy. (I don't know it is 100% sure that she tried to kill YS years later but it is certainly suspected.)

If you have Netflix, his drama Rain or Shine is there (aka Just Between Lovers). It's a contemporary and he's quite good in it.

It's a ratings success so they are adding one episode. This doesn't happen as much as it used to, and I hope they are able to do this without messing up the pacing.

I once saw a gal drop a historical Chinese drama because the emperor had a wife and a bunch of concubines and she couldn't deal because in her mind he was a cheater. I mean he's not a 21st century dude for pete sake.

Her reasoning for not liking the CP is actually understandable without going the full crazy. Love this drama but they jumped the shark a bit with that. It would have been better to stick with it being 5 or so of the court ladies involved in the conspiracy.

These are based on real people and are a well known couple in Korean history so I don't think it's gonna go that way.

I also think a Crown Prince couldn't take a concubine without the king's approval so there is that as well. However once he became king, I think there was a lot more leeway.

I'm going by what I've heard, but I think she somewhat famously rejects him twice so you are right, if they go that route.
