Yep this is exactly my chat. Just like you said, it would have been great to see his struggle to hold off his feeling and the intensity of his love; especially cause when he was a kid, he kept telling his mum that romantic love isn't good and he will not fall for anyone. So, I expected a bit of a scorching romance tbh.

I'm always nagging about how there's no kiss scene for the leads. Tbh, it's NOT really as much the lack of kiss scenes, as it's about the romance being watered down a lot.

In the first half, we literally started with a favorability score and most of us were anticipating how passionate their romance will be, when the score gets high. Also, someone like MuSheng is very intense in everything he does. For eg, we saw that with his fierce protection of his sister; with how he fights as a demon catcher even though his skill level was lower than the others; with how he went to assas*inate the father because of his mum etc.

So, I expected when he falls in love to be even more intense, cause at 50% we already saw it and at close to 100%, I expected more fire from their relationship. But they are now like an old married couple. Again, I blame that bracelet! 😭

OK all done with Ep 27. They gave us most of the backstory and confirmed our theories.

I like how he is very natural when it comes to showing those deep emotions. The Directors know, that's why they utilised those moments well.

MuSheng - "The first time I found you a bit cute was at the lantern festival"

I love how true this is! It was at that festival earlier in the episodes that he started seeing MiaoMiao in a different light. When she told him his smiling face is better and he got all flustered.

Also, when her wish was  "peace for all", then he used his magic to write 'peace' on the sky with the floating lanterns. Sadly the favorability score only left the negatives at that point smh.
Then the scenes where she got scared for her dad due to the fire. OK I miss her dad relationship + earlier episodes, this drama has a high rewatch value!🔥

Now watching EP 28 and already in the first scene I'm cracking up 😂😂. Zhao YuanZhou is so foolish. Finally the comedy and roasting is back!

Yep, Mu Yao's dad seem to have some dirty deeds. Let's see if they uncover more of it. Resentful woman is MuSheng's mum and I think they did something to him which probably ticked her off and she lost control. Maybe consort and MY's dad planned something after MS almost assas*nated the dad as a kid.

Oh gosh I blame that damned bracelet again! Before it appeared, every episode of this drama was A++. Now, we barely have any romance, favorability score is a forgotten thing and too many yet to finish plots.

PS - I don't know their relationship status cause we were robbed of a confession. Are they fully a thing now, with a tag on it?
