I have so many questions. Why is Miss Becky now selling produts online? Why does she have the dog? Where's, Ken?…
Ms. Becky was probably traumatized after the kidnapping and left Ace's employ and left? :D Maybe CC was her parting gift? :D Jelai probably went to Teaching College, got his Teaching Diploma, started as a trainee teacher, and got promoted to Dean in 2 years. Talk about upward mobility in the Pinoy Teaching Service. Or was it some sort of diversity hire? :D
My questions are: 1. Sky's house doesn't have any other areas to convert to a borders space they had to lump Sky with all these strangers? 2. Sky's mom's business seems to be successful. Why doesn't Sky join her business, help her diversify and even be the face of the product? A 2nd place world food champion is better advertising than nothing. 3. Couldn't we get a little exposition as to why Ace and Sky separated? Not much, just a few minutes of talk with a flashback? We had Ace angry when Chukchuk went missing. We didn't need him to come to the studio.
So many questions. So little competency in the writing :D Oxin makes these wonderful, amazing train wrecks that you just can't help but watch!
Reading these comments, I do think Book is playing Cher quite well. The inexperienced 20-something-year-old with the youth energy, nativity, now getting into life sort of person. Cher is an extrovert who speaks before he thinks and Book is capturing that with impunity. His sad/ angry in ep. 9 was quite nicely played too. I could feel his connection to the Gameboy. Yes, his emotions seemed to be all over the place but still were in keeping with the character. Even what seemed to be a change of his mind to push Gun away that personality type would do it. Although it seemed he thought everything was good, I could still see this personality overthinking what people would think about Gun and wanting to end it to "save" him by pushing him away. I'm liking the writing of the characters. All have totally distinct personalities and the writing is keeping it that way. The friend group is epic. Very supportive. The only real issue I have is Gun could have been aged up a bit. Force and Book seem to have no age difference whatsoever. While it's not the greatest BL from Thailand, it's no way at the bottom of the pile. Book and Force have chemistry rivaled by greats like Max and Tul, Earth and Mix, Bilkin and PP.
The establishing shots are just gorgeous. Chiang Mai looks more stunning than it normally does. Manila looked beautiful. Why doesn't the live-action meet this quality? Even the product placement was bad. The cringe jokes continue. Come-on! Could we have fem characters not hit on every male that crosses their path? Oxin should be more professional by now. They have great ideas, but the executive is just so bad!
I already knew they were going to make the darker skinned girl the villain. GMMTV is the 2nd racist company next…
While GMM and most of Thiland have a fondness for fairer tones (as sadly most of the world) in this case Saiparn's casting as the baddie does not really seem racist. She is quite the accomplished actress in her own right, having had many staring roles. She has a look about her that makes her, IMHO, quite suited for the villian. A sort of wicked playfulness. She is also playing the baddie, but it's not a commical role. The character is quite strong, having her powers, knowledge and stands on her own in fights. I think she was well cast as Anthika. She has, in ep. 6, been quite a good foil for Khatha. It's just like Namtam being the baddy (Giwi) in The Player. That was also a perfect casting. She usually plays the carefree character just as she is here, but as evil Giwi she shined. At first I was wondering who was this pretty actress playing Giwi, not even recognising her. Namtam basically carried that show.
having a good job in Thailand can make you secured and happy 24/7 and as you see they both have good jobs in a…
I've been looking at teaching positions in universities and apartments. The price of those apts are just so amazing! A 2 bedroom semi-furnished flat in Hua Hin will run about US$300/ mth! That's an epic price! If only the language wasn't so hard to learn :(
This was just wow. I don't really like things too sweet, but this sweet was just right. It was ice cream on top of cake, with coconut jelly inside, with a core of sugar, but sometimes that's what you need. The lovey scenes were not forced but played perfectly into the narrative. The chemistry was like a lab on fire. Everyone just meshed and performed their hearts out. Even the supporting characters like Tin's mom and dad had the most amazing relationship. Photjanee [Tinn's mother / Principal] and Gim [Gun's mother] had a really good scene together. Hopefully, this great start to 2023 will continue.
The most unbelievable thing is these young professionals can afford such amazing apartments :D. How do I get a flat like Uea's? His view is just amazing! Seriously, Mandee can really write character backgrounds. Uea's story is really traumatic and the show does not hold back. Hopefully, we get to explore King's background also.
I know Nuengdiao is meant to grow into his suit and new job as big boss, but couldn't they get him a better-fitting one from the start? I want to see Nat hamming up being the baddie. He is an excellent actor, let it show. He's a little too reserved. Threatening Chopper with Ben wasn't nice though . . .
This is the perfect coming-of-age story! Leadership differences between Tinn and Gun. One wanted to be a leader to help; and the other, basically, having leadership pushed on him to get this rag-tag bunch to a goal. All the characters develop, including the parents! This is usually missed out in many BLs where, usually, only the staring characters grow. The many flaws of the characters make them perfect. We see Gun being a strong leader, but still unsure of himself. The fact that Sound had to relent and give leadership back to Gun is critical. The simple situation of Gun knowing that Sound didn't play as he should and needed therapy was marvelous. Letting him go without the others knowing, again, displayed his level of leadership. Tinn's mom was, seemingly, becoming the baddie of the series. In a brilliant stroke of misdirection, we see this is not true. Again, brilliant! Por's emotion in the Band Room when no one joined him was so emotional. Well done writers, director, and Ford. The scene with the band trekking to the shrine was extremely well done. The raw emotion, the raw truth. It felt more like real, close friends having an argument. As near perfection as GMM has presented, and one of the all-time greatest BLs and coming-of-age stories!
Okay... Why was I crying when the mother started singing???? Like I had no reason to cry NO BITCH THERE WAS A…
Rainbow Prince was supposed to be a BL musical from the Phillippines, but that was really a huge flop. When Gim started singing here, though, it just felt organic and in the proper place! When they moved to the other characters too it just felt natural and in place. And, yes, GMM was the company Gun auditioned for. Golf was even the producer! This is so meta. Like how the BBC puts its style and logo in fictional universes like Dr. Who.
gun's facial expression in the last part first scene, trying to hold his tears and act like he's fine, this was…
His facial expressions and ability to go from strong to crying really sells the emotions. When he started to cry in Tinn's arms it was just so sad. When Gim (Gun's mother) asks Tinn if Gun is really OK that was true parenting.
I love that this series is not just a cute comedy. This series shows us the difficulties of a teenager's life,…
This is one of my main loves for this series. Each character is dealing with his own issues. I love how Gun is cast in the leadership role, but is still very human having his doubts and insecurities, but keeping the ultimate goal in mind still has him focused. Even Sound who did the coup d'etat came to realise Gun's leadership ability and had to relent. The other band members each experiencing their own problems was a nice, collective character building moment.
