This is definitely going to be a polarizing show. It should have trigger warnings for abusive relationships (romantic and parental), ML stalking the FL after she tries to leave him, pregnancy/miscarriage, and mental health (specifically bipolar).

That said, if overly dramatic, leaves you trying to guess what will happen next shows are your thing it's pretty good.

From a strictly episode 1 standpoint their relationship is that they have a "relatively" secret relationship where she is officially presented as only his secretary to the public but they live together. They have been together for just under 3 years.

Someone needs to make a FMV of this couple to that song now PLEASE!... 🤣😭🤣

I was running through the list of tropes they HAVEN'T used yet and after crossing off a couple like twins/doppelganger (unless they pull out a last 5 seconds ending of "It's twins" don't see how they'll fit it in), needing to cross-dress (not sad since we DID get a very unexpected rabbit bulter cosplay so between that and the mascot costume...) or someone switched at birth, there are only a few left... Wedding, timeskip, airport scene, family member (Gu dad?) death, Gu Yi family revelation shake-up (this might come from mystery around his heart if we get it?)... That's what I could think up at least, maybe there's a couple I missed? I keep wanting to say amnesia but I'm certain that from the writer's point of view they already crossed it off at the earlier episodes as not remembering the time before/around the accident and then as GY investigated some of his memories returned of his mother. SJ was in a "Coma" for a month after the accident.

As for the possible word play, that might be something. It's definitely something that I always hate about missing losing in translation when wordplay factors importantly into a show's joke or revelation.

Feels weird to think that even with the curve balls thrown in 15/16 that the tone was almost refreshing rather than world-burning dumpster fire for once. 4 episodes left... 😬

I'm not ashamed to admit I'm sad the writers held back with Bai Yun.... I was really hoping to see her crack and go all Lady MacBeth craycray, laughing and screaming while seeing blood dripping from her piano as she played 🤣 but if she went totally crazy then we wouldn't have this perfectly logical kidnapping someone to force them to sign a letter of forgiveness plot now would we? 🤪

All of the actors have had to display such a wide array of emotions, we want to strangle almost everyone and knock some sense in to them.

Basically QJ told the lady to clean her jacket and wait for her by the door to the unoccupied T1 private room. Since Mr Chen saw the hostess was coming from that room he assumed that's where the deal was taking place and so turned around and rushed there despite QJ telling him no one was there. Afterwards, the firing of the guy was because that guy was because he had met up with Mr Chen the night before the meeting for drinks and drank too much letting slip the private meeting that was going to be taking place. Since it was the second time he'd been drunk and misspoke company secrets he was fired.

I can only imagine after she inevitably loses the baby?

Total runtime is just over two and a half hours when you take out the into/outro so it's a rushed plot.
