I saw this one pop up on YouTube the other day and ended up skipping because the plot made me too sad. Did you watch the Yue Yu Ting version also? Does it end the same?

I had to try and remind myself that this girl is NOT simple and to NOT be dragged into her game when she was crying after he left one of their conversations and she said " 'I won't let her down'. So you'll let me down." 🫂

The subs are fairly decent. Words/phrases are occasionally repeated when the line breaks but I haven't found it outrageous or unable to understand what's happening. I'd put it at a 90%+ for readability/understandability. Easy enough to figure out any slightly awkward phrases. Biggest issue right now is that they are behind on the subtitles in general. Eps 17, 18, 19 are out by not English subbed as of tonight.

This is technically a "Part 1" but the story ends in a spit where if they never actually made the Part 2 it wouldn't be a major issue. All the issues of this story are resolved and it can be assumed the Part 2 would be a "What happens next to the family" type thing.
The FL is the star here by far. The ML is a bit of a puppy and cute but their isn't a "lot" of romance, instead this is very much a political scheming story where the FL is working to stabilize her and her future husband's family with the knowledge that eventually her husband's family WILL be exiled while trying to change as much of the future events as she possibly can so that they're in her favor.
Admittedly, I could absolutely see this being made into a longer series with the political power plays given more screentime rather than sometimes reduced to a line of dialog from one character to another.

I saw the links starting to pop up on my watch YouTube recommended viewing this morning and had already saved the first one you linked below to my rewatch playlist 🤣

What I've seen specifically is they do more fancy cinematography and shots to take up half the runtime so you get things like dramatic ML entrances that take 1-2 minutes and falling snow scenes with leads looking longingly out the window etc.

I too LOVED this dialog and made a screenshot of it when I saw it! It was AMAZING and perfectly encapsulates their twisted personalities. The other I think is the scene before that where they had the united front together caressing their hands as they held them and then immediately were squeezing them when the person looked away 😅.

I haven't started it but as soon as I read the synopsis I immediately thought the same thing 😅.

I am SERIOUSLY in love with the first 7 episodes so far... She is CRAZY and I LOVE it!

2nd attempt at this adaptation I've watched. First was this one:

Both are basically 3 hours long. I couldn't finish the other one and threw in the towel after 2 hours. This one I managed to finish but it had a similar issue for me, after the poison is cured it starts getting into vague politics that jump around and are hard to follow. I just wanted to watch a "deranged", "yandere", "psycho" fall head over heels for his wife and be cute 😅.

Watched for Wei Ruo Chen but the story was very surface level... just when it would get interesting they'd switch to something else. No information about any unknown factors were solved and the ending left much to be desired. Overall it honestly felt like I was watching a choose your route visual novel where the viewer is shown the 1st play through and you have to play again and make different choices to learn more backstory. 😅🤷‍♀️

This was really good overall. There's already been a through review and I agree with it. Of there's anything, I did find the romance slightly underdeveloped because while they communicated well they were definitely still in that awkward phase for most of the story. It made sense that they hadn't had enough time to become truly affectionate in an intimate sense, but it seemed to me almost like there was a wall between the actors during some of the scenes. Again, due to the FL nature it makes sense but it also felt like perhaps they could have spread the story out a bit more time-wise so as to be able to incorporate more intimate touches like brushing hair aside or touching face or rubbing fingers along hand.

There was however several cute one-liner types that made me chuckle between them. He got jealous a few times and that was fun to watch him get teased about.
Definitely a recommended watch in my book.

This is a dialog repeater where the mistreated legitimate daughter gets together with the Emperor but the illegitimate daughter somehow convinces everyone that SHE'S the next Empress and no one ACTUALLY seems to know what the Emperor looks like. 🤣 If you've seen a hidden boss plot before you know what to expect. I'm sure I lost several brain cells watching this but I like to turn my brain off with a repeater every once in a while and Wang Yuwei is an auto click for me.

This one was a LOT of fun since the FL was the villian in the original timeline and she was still scheming in the rebirth timeline, she just wasn't "as" viscious and wanted to be left alone to live in peace basically 😅
