(I watched all 5 versions back to back) Version #1 - Not a bad place to start, ML stays a manipulative red flag imo (if he can he actively sabotages her missions so she doesn't complete them). This version has a VERY thorough story with added details of actual STORY that don't show up in other versions such as a scene about the MLs past as a hostage prince. Vibe for this one was a lot more ML is in control 'allowing' her to think she can do things. Utilizes a feeling of almost tease/denial kink and FL plays the alternate scenes as if she IS being humiliated and frustrated which personally... ๐คทโโ๏ธ not my thing and I also didn't find THAT aspect funny. It was personally interesting to me to see scenes such as 'placing the anklet on her foot' play out as a "oh god this is humiliating make it stop" vs a "oh god... this is soooo humiliating teehee". Ending is the 'most' different of all versions.
The link in the spoiler below seems to be the 5th adaptation. I couldnยดt find a MDL page
Thanks for the actual name. Watched it and it wasn't bad. It definitely had scenes and a vibe I liked that it incorporated that made it different from the others such as it's version of the opening scene and later the addition of her having a period ๐ .
(I watched all 5 versions back to back) Version #2 - Only watch if you are a fan of the actors or have a 'must watch all' mindset. This is the worst version hands down. The sets, costumes, and wigs are dollar-store versions and the acting is... almost parody level imo. The story plot most closely follows V1 but does make changes towards the end and changes the vibe between the characters and couple. It's the shortest version at just under 2 hours which also means that it leaves out details that make scenes more coherent when watched.
This was a cute story that I sped somewhat through. What synopsis above leaves out is that the premise of this requires the ML to BELIEVE the FL is a man almost the entire drama... even though at the very beginning he LITERALLY sees her fully undressed (he explains this away by thinking she had "it" cut off in the accident that required him to undress her). Most of the comedy revolves around him thinking he's falling in love with another man and his guard shipping them together. If you don't want to watch someone questioning their sexuality and a parent being homophobic you don't want to watch this.
๐ Unpopular opinion... despite giving this an "okay" rating I watched this 2 weeks ago and today someone asked if I had seen this one yet... I had ZERO recollection of what it was about until I thought about it while reading the synopsis multiple times ๐ - for me it's obviously a one and done with a "pretty face" and kissing skills.
Enjoyed this one but in my opinion the story broke down a little in the second half when he says he knows who she REALLY is. This plot may make some people uncomfortable. In both lives she pretends to be a fool and she plays them VERY convincingly with 1st life acting with a lower mental age than 2nd life. ML/FL are intimate while she is pretending in 1st life.
Have watched this more than once and still enjoyed it. As mentioned, FL is rather violent and she doesn't hesitate to kill as she'll do anything to survive the palace and hopefully escape back to her world. The Iqiyi version has so much better subtitles than I originally saw from YouTube apparently as I misunderstood what was happening with the last rebirth thinking he had something going on with his 'sister' and THAT'S why she wanted to leave ๐คฃ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
Highly enjoyable of you don't mind "try, die, repeat" plots. This FL dies... A LOT. Not big on intimacy and is more of a "lead states they love the other lead so sure I guess" type romance than one where they interact and romance develops 'naturally' on the screen.
Version has them not swap again once swapped back and includes another transmigrated character into the plot. Like all versions scenes jump alot but I felt this one seemed a but more random than some of the other versions I've watched so far.
Positives of this version... It focuses more on the palace politics so it doesn't feel like a wash/repeat of the mansion politics. Negatives... the scenes leave a lot out so I had to just go with the flow and ignore almost all OF the palace politics discussed๐ I liked this version of the CP better than his other version though which was the first version of this story I watched though the other story was 'slightly' better in a ease of following way.
On a personal level I enjoyed this but over all it wasn't very good. The story is all over the place and tries to introduce many story threads that are practically irrelevant later such as her being a bandit leader as well as being a doctor (she does use her skills to save ML near the end but even that makes little sense as how does doing a surgery cure you of poison?) Similar to a lot of these larger women stories, the FL drinks a magical potion and is instantly skinny. WHY? ๐คทโโ๏ธ Because they needed her to be BEAUTIFUL for the ML I guess? Even the children when seeing the skinny FL go ON about how PRETTY she now is... ๐๐ฎโ๐จ - Girl if you had a magic potion to make yourself skinny whyd you wait 6 years?
I've rewatched this one and while in my opinion it's not as good as "Bao Jun Du..." it's a similar sort of out of the box system story than is always force fed. By the end the drama is absolutely a different "sort" of drama than it is at the beginning; this change happens in the 2nd half so it almost becomes as if the drama is split in two. Once the change happens it absolutely becomes slightly convoluted and even after watching it more than once you just have to follow along with the logic and shrug a bit.
Also tried searching with the ML and FL real names, but no luck, sorry.
It's only available on the mainland iqiyi website right now and doesn't have subtitles. Also, for international Iqiyi Wang Yuwei is in their system as 'Wilson' since you said you tried looking it up by their name.
Not bad but also not 'amazing'. It's a passive rebirth revenge story where all the revenge is dealt out by her just standing back and NOT doing anything and letting the 3 men reap their own karma. Akilyar is her puppy guard but don't expect any intimate type scenes between them, just a few words and touching his face once or twice. I've rewatched this 2x now though ๐คทโโ๏ธ.
The storyline and acting and transition shots of boy/man were rather well done. VERY personal opinion that most people probably won't share... I thought it was boring and it took me twice as long as the drama length to finish it. I will say though that this is the first vertical of Yan Zixian's that I actually feel is 'truly' well done and not just completely phoned in. ๐ At the same time I feel like Guo Yuxin gave a slightly better performance but again, that's just me.
no kidding! this is probably 4th thing I saw you watching just this week without checking your list.I am on WPY…
๐คฃ Literally the same but I keep trying to mix it up with other ones in between - I also watched the Part 3 historical dandy/general one which was good. Haven't watched the modern ones of that one that came before it yet though
