I thought Li Chu Yue's antics were sort of cute in the other world but coming back she seems to have a few screws loose. I mean why would she just randomly walk away from the table and pick up a bowl of crabs to bring back to sit in front of her plate? A lot of handwaving going on for this plot right now.
Her: Oh God he's making my life difficult because I got drunk and threw up on him, KMN...
Him: Fondly recalls to friend about her saving his reputation by trying to switch the alcohol for water and felt bad she got so sick she threw up when friend asked why he's giving her preferential treatment...
If the Trial of the Three Realms qualifies you to lead the entire sect, there should be absolutely no favoritism…
In the first trial GZY was led through the mountain because he's not allowed to know the exact path yet and needed to be blindfolded. That wasn't favoritism. It's akin to how both him and YWS were blindfolded and led by Elder Yue in the second trial.
As for YWS being there is a favoritism, any person going through the trials is entitled to have a Green Jade companion come along with them. In GZY case Jin Fan didn't come along but entrusted Green Jade status to YWS, thus allowing her to legally be back there as helper. The other Gongs amd elders know she is going back there and no fuss is made about "someone" being with GZY, only that GSJ finds her suspicious and worries she's a spy.
Finished this in one sitting and now I have a feeling nothing else will compare for a while... The number of times I had to pause as I laughed out loud for way too long alone will have me rewatching this again in the future and reading the manga.
Finally finished. So overall there were a lot of interesting spots where they seemed to be absurdist and parodying other issues with cliches in dramas. But then it would switch to being super serious which left me waiting for the other shoe to drop, so to speak, but it never did.
By the end the timeline of the whole show made very little sense (even for a comedy). For instance the sister leaves one second and then the next she's been all the way back home and getting announcements of marriage and needs to be rescued. They forget about the ice herb that is supposed to save the ML life for "months" and only finally leave to get it when daddy ALSO needs it. Characters dissappear and pop up elsewhere just to fit the plot then dissappear again.
These things mentioned above would be "fine" if they were poked at and made fun of but they aren't. So it leaves you confused about what's actually going on and fully in the dark about what will happen next simply because it doesn't follow a logical path.
Don't get me wrong, over all I liked the show but I still feel it could have been so much more if it weren't so disjointed in plot and comedic timing in the second half.
I thought it was pretty well explained but maybe not since I will admit the whole "who is a sibling, who is a cousin, how do they decide who leads the house" thing makes very little sense to me from an overall standpoint.
Essentially that scene with the kid was saying that her mom is dead and her dad remarried and together they had the little boy. The step-mother "naturally" doesn't consider her her child so the boy doesn't consider eldest miss his sibling. That's why she corrected him saying that they still have the same father so that DOES make them siblings. Unfortunately he had a snotty comeback ready since for whatever reason the dad doesn't like her either and spoils the little boy because he will eventually grow up to take over for the family.
The part I don't get is how they determine she is the current leader since if it is through her dad why isn't HE the leader? And if it is through her mother's side, how would the boy inherit it when he comes of age?

Forced myself to watch the last 4 episodes just to say I finished it. I personally had no issue with their chemistry…
Watched the "special episode" and it's definitely what was intended to be the last episode. It resolves those hanging questions about all of the friends and has FL and ML talking about her upcoming position as well as an ending montage of their relationship as they basically affirm that even if they have to separate for a period of time, like their separation before college, they'll both be working towards the day they can fully be together again.
Not changing my rating based on this though because it's not the "official" ending like it would be with any other normal drama.
Episodes 16 and 17 had me snorting with laughter so many times. I was very much welcomed after having a few "less" comedic episodes. Guessing the next ones are going to be a bit more serious though as they're trapped in the dream 😒
