I guess Wu Feng is really cunning. They said the "Gong isn't the Wu Feng" they know they aren't Heartless to kill…
I had the same thought that she definitely seems like she's putting on an act of being a low Chi. There's a comment though up above that has Esther's personal character notes that says she doesn't advance not because she doesn't have the ability or skill but that she doesn't like to kill so maybe she IS technically only a Chi?
Also, if anyone has any idea about the background of girl in mud scene who wins with fl. Is she her sister, or…
I think it's too early to truly tell if she'll play some role, I know I was personally trying to figure out if she was the one that exposed herself but everyone was so muddy couldn't make out her details. Whether that character is important or not though I think the scene itself was more to show that the FL was the one picking up the tokens from the mud and handing the first one picked up to the other girl. She will do whatever it takes to stay alive when needed but deep down she's considerate of others.
The 2nd prince originally asked her to marry the 7th prince so that she could spy on him and eventually kill him.
Lol sorry I must have been more tired last night than I thought when responding 'cause I completely misread your question. ๐ Thought you asked why SHE married the 7th instead of the 2nd not why the Emperor arranged it.
As an answer, I don't think they gave a clear reason since we only see after the marriage but going off the interactions I'd say it's a matter of her and 2nd prince relationship being less obvious to outsiders. She's also established as not being favored in her family while 2nd Prince seems to be favored slightly over 7th (conversation with Emperor after 2nd destroyed his spy army). Their family though does seem to be highly favored overall though so Emperor probably still wanted to arrange a marriage and older daughter would need to be married off first so all it would need is 2nd Prince to suggest the union to the Emperor and the 7th to not care enough to fight against it.
Feel like I just put more thought into that than the writers did so who knows.
So ep 7 was surprisingly serious after the ridiculous fake crying in the beginning. Then we move on to ep 8 being a mix of serious and absurd again. Father/daughter reunion scene was amazing ๐คฃ
This is the first Xiao Zhan drama I've seen so I'm ambivalent to the Fandom hype, I just tend to like OW/YM dramas so figured I'd give it a try. So far I've watched two episodes and am telling myself I'll still give it more of a chance because I did sort of enjoy the hotel scene with him talking on the phone and the next morning with him scaring the intern. The rest though seems really slow as they set up the story and I hope it picks up once they actually meet again while she's sober.
Is there a love triangle or evil characters? Is the female lead strong?
Definitely not a pushover. She bickers with the ML. So far there is a SML who insists they are childhood sweethearts and is chosen to marry her while his sister seems to have also fallen in love with HER at first sight when she's saved by the FL wearing a beard disguise. It's funny not angsty.
I thought for sure she was going to follow through with destroying the plants and that was going to be like a sword of damocles hanging over her head for much of the rest of the show until he finds out but so far so good. I'm liking the dynamic so far, he even knew she came to the shed to stomp on the plants and pretended not to know until she admitted her original intentions. They both seem to have an inate sense for the other.
Finally finished this one and I personally loved it. was it a bunch of cliches? Sure, but it never claimed to be a big budget drama.
For anyone wondering it's a full and complete happy ending without any "it was all a dream" or "it was all a story in a book/comic" that tends to happen with transmigration/time travel dramas.
Both the CEO and his shitty brother needs dire situations to get them off their routine and make stupid/malicious…
Pretty much. The thing is usually I'd feel something for these people as their setting up the threads and I don't. With CEO and wife I couldn't help but wonder if he even likes his wife and kid since we have zero investment into his family life so far and he seems to always have a poker face. With brother it was the same thing, does he actually have any investment into that stupid burger joint? Does he actually want it to succeed? Should I have been invested in chef running off with the money?
If the watcher is supposed to care about why they make the stupid/malicious choices later on we should have some emotional connection to them to show what's at stake for them.
๐ฎโ๐จ Right now I think I have more of an emotional connection to the convenience store musician and his brother than CEO and brother.
We keep getting all these small little plot threads with side characters that don't seem to relate right now. For instance why should we care if CEO bro's chef seemed to run off with his cash register money while telling delivery dude to collect money that had already been paid electronically at the time of delivery?
i think she will help chukong succeed in restoring his spirit form that is why she ask what his name to tell the…
Lmao because just like the brother all the people in the comments just thirst for power and can't imagine that someone would NOT want to be the ruler. ๐
It's so annoying to see how none of the immortals in the heavenly realm are actually useful/capable enough to…
Yeah everyone standing around twiddling their thumbs was almost funny in my book. That and the fact that among them were supposed to the other leaders of the 6 realms but the guys standing around just looked like Heavenly soldier extras to me ๐
