its fake lol its just nonsene rumors. if this were true she herself would post it like why ask her friend?
LOL. Mature netizen who waits for an agency that makes money off her career to tell you the 'truth' about Lusi having aphasia which is going to alter her career entirely??... yes, yes.... you are the correct ones to believe their "truth" and not her close friend who is right by her side in her time of need.

You wait for that "official" statement from her work lords. Yes, you go ahead and do that...

"...why ask her friend?.." Could you promote how ignorant you are any better than this statement?

Do you know what aphasia is? It's not just the inability to speak words. It's the inability to comprehend language at all. For example, not only not being able to know to say the word pen for a pen, but not even knowing what a pen is or does.

So, now tell me again why a close friend saying she has aphasia is fake because Lusi hasn't gone on camera to tell you this, or hasn't written a post with her own hands? Yes, you are a fool.

No one’s confirmed any of this so don’t jump to speculation that she won’t be acting for years.
If the person who posted pictures of Lusi recovering in a wheelchair states that Lusi is suffering from "aphasia", then I'm not going to believe it is speculation. It came straight from the mouth/post of a friend who is currently with her in her time of need. "aphasia" is most often caused by a stroke. This friend says she cannot walk and talk correctly. If she didn't have a stroke, it could only be acquired by some serious brain injury like falling and hitting her head, a car accident, being hit by a blunt object in the head, etc.

Her ability to recover fully will be based on how she acquired "aphasia". If it was a mild stroke, she may recover fully after 6 months, The fact she's not able to walk and in a wheelchair leads me to believe it's more than a mild stroke. However, it's likely not PPA, like what Bruce Willis has, which has a mortality rate from 7-12 years, and progresses like dementia. The thing with "aphasia" is not just the loss of language but the loss of the ability to even comprehend the meaning of the things you're trying to communicate about. For example, not only not being able to call a pen a "pen" but not even knowing what a pen is or does. Again, depending on the severity of the stroke, she may have a long way to go to recover... I won't have any expectations about her career. I simply hope that, whatever the results and outcome, she is able to live a full and healthy life going forward.

You're a dick. ❤️
"..to get sympathy in the present.." WTF are you even talking about. You make absolutely no sense.

You act like Lusi becoming ill is some "scandal" or that she did something wrong. Like, WTF are you even saying. Do you hear yourself?

Karma, that's all I can say. Shall your words smack you and your family on the back of the head.

Based on what Lusi's friend said, she likely had a stroke and now can't walk and talk.... and you're here acting like the fact that this happened is because of something bad Lusi did. You are an immoral asshat, pure and simply. That's the only way your words can be described.
Lily Alice Dec 31, 2024
So, brain damage most likely due to a stoke? Then am I to believe those posts saying she likely had a stroke?

This is freaking horrible. The main thing I know, past this post, is that her close friend posted pictures of her hanging out with Lusi in a wheelchair along with her statement regarding Lusi's condition. When I read she said that Lusi is "..recovering some of the ability to speak, and learn how to walk again..." all I could think is, how serious this is for Lusi. It's not just speech. She can't walk either. This isn't something regarding "rest" she needs to overcome exhaustion. This is a life altering incident that is likely going to take her years to recover from now.

I wish her and her family the best. Hopefully she has made enough money to live well and recover to the best of her ability. Maybe at some point she can return to acting. In the meantime, I hope she finds peace and gets justice if her life was altered by the actions or inactions of others.

guys do anyone have the link for ep 11 preview ?
If they gave you a preview of ep 11, you'd literally not need to watch the episode to know the outcome. If they did that, how could you tag this as thriller, mystery? The mystery would be lost...and the mystery is part of the point of this drama.

Sorry folks, we just have to wait. It's the nature of the beast. I'm glad they didn't spoil it so that people could not claim this drama to be "too predictable", for those of us who haven't read the novel and know nothing of what to expect.

Most romantic thing this guy ever said that he’s only identity is HHJ husband that too infront of entire world.😍😍😍So…
Maybe in the novel he was, but in this drama, he was always a green flag. Just because we see his actions from everyone's misinterpretation doesn't make his actions a red flag. It just makes everyone ignorant to the truth about who he truly is, which is what this story is about.

First off, their kiss scenes, or romantic scenes in general, are so perfectly beautiful and romantic and natural. The most real looking hugs and kisses I've seen in an Asian drama in a long time. Hell, the way their cheeks move, their kisses practically look like french kissing. How easily she glides into his lap.... my god, I couldn't have directed it better in my mind than the way they pulled those scenes off.

Lastly, Yoo Yeon Seok's desperate expression was masterful. His cheeks literally looked sunken in and gaunt. The pronounced facial wrinkles made him look like he aged 15 years overnight. Those puppy dog eyes as well. How could a nation get mad at him and let him suffer more? Why wouldn't the whole world help? This man perfectly turned a scandal into a romance novel starring a husband utterly and irrevocably in love with his wife who he has lost.

Yeon Seok's acting in that final scene was some of the best acting I've seen from him ever. I hope he does win awards. He made something that, with an actor who would give less of a performance, could have come out corny or predictable, a work of art. That scene was absolutely heart wrenching and Yeon Seok sold it to us on a silver platter. Well done.

Title When the Phone Rings Spoiler
P and B are interchangeable in the romanisation of Korea. Busan gets romanized to Pusan for example. Paik, Paek,…
I understand the rules, including batchim. Fully understand that bieup sounds more like p at the beginning of a word & b with vowels. Fully understand the same applies to ㄱ (giyeok) with g & k. But for pronunciation for names etc per IPA, the traditional way to say & spell the last name is Baek. Not Paek. And in no way is ㅐ ever gonna be ai. ㅐ is pronunced like "day" and it's phonetically ae all day long. I don't know of any interchangeabliity of vowels... I only know consonents... but they spell Hyeon, "Hyun" in romanji but it still doesn't sound the same.

They spell 박 as Park as well... have since the dawn of time. Still doesn't put an "r" anywhere near that Hangul, and saying an English hard "r" isn't the proper way to pronounce that name. I get that there are different ways to spell it... what I'm saying is that I dislike that the English representation is far from the way any Korean would say those words.
On When the Phone Rings Dec 27, 2024
I have to say that NetFlix really ruins the romanization of Korean names and it is kinda pissing me off.

Anyone refer to 백현 as Paik Hyun? There's a reason Baek Hyun tells English speaking foreigners the easiest way to pronounce his name is like "Bacon"... although I'd have romanized his name as Baek Hyeon -- ㅂ B ㅐ ae ㄱ k = Baek, ㅎ H ㅕ yeo ㄴ n = Hyeon mainly because this is actually 휸 Hyun to me ㅎ H ㅠ yu ㄴ n. There is a difference in pronunciation and Baek Hyun, based on IPA, wouldn't be "Bacon", it would be "Ba-who-un".

Don't trust me... Put 변백현 which is the real hangul spelling of his name and then use 변백휸 in google translate after... notice the English pronunciation uses the same romanization but look at the bottom on the Korean side to see the correct romanization. Then put them both in google translate and play the sounds at the same time and listen to the difference.

At any rate, these subtle differences mean a lot to me. I'd prefer I was pronouncing things correctly. It must feel the same for Koreans hearing English speakers incorrectly pronounce these subtle differences as it is to English speakers who watch K-dramas with characters who supposedly studied for years at an American university struggle to pronounce the easiest of English words.

So how in the world did Netflix make 백사언 become Paik Saeon? It's ㅂ B ㅐ ae ㄱ k = Baek, ㅅ S ㅏa = Sa, ㅇ _ ㅓeo ㄴ n = eon .....Baek Sa Eon.

I want his name to be said and look right... but I guess this is too much to ask......

Sa-Eon injuries healed like magic lolNo scar no nothing neither on his forehead not on his neck compared to those…
I beg to differ. The end scene had me bothered a bit. Not the scene but the way Baek Sa Eon looked. I kept wanting him to brush his bangs aside. Then I realized that that was a long scab from when he got hurt.

And well, if you've watched K-Dramas for any amount of time, AND you've watched variety shows, live music shows, etc. you would know that there is this thing called BB Cream that South Korea invested in and made popular around the world. They developed it as a cover that could also heal wounds after plastic surgery. How else can you pretend you never got any surgery done and go to work? You would also know that Koreans use it alone for those times when they want to look like they're not wearing any makeup but still can't expose themselves to the harsh realities of their society by not having white, smooth looking skin. Yes, men wear BB Cream as well... and a spokesperson from the President Office who needs to be on camera would definitely be making sure they look flawless, especially when they cannot go to the cops and have to hide in a hospital so as not to expose themselves and what happened. Why would he go on camera with a bunch of exposed wounds???? The fact that he couldn't fully cover up the wound on his forehead. I think you should watch that scene again. It's actually quite realistic to me. If he had gone on stage with wounds exposed all over, I would have wondered why after all the effort to hide.

yeah it's cut 4 episode ,due to censored, so probably 1 of the reason
The CCP banned anything to do with reincarnation or transmigration the end of 2007. In the ban, the CCP claims strict control over the process and essentially state that, without CCP government approval, no one is allowed to reincarnate nor talk about it nor claim anything about it. This is to control the narrative over Tibetan Buddhism and the Dalai Lama and to limit his/their power and influence in China and around the world and to push the CCP's unilateral authority over Tibet.

It must be very tiring for CCP members and their Censorship Board to always have to hold their hands up to the sky to block the sun. The amount of thoughts and ideas they have to cover to maintain their brand of communism is immense.... Like, now that Thailand will have Same Sex marriage, that censorship cloud cover will have to grow even more dense to keep ideas the CCP don't authorize out of the minds of their citizens and dramas as well. Transmigration is just the tip of the iceberg.

The real question is: Is there ANYTHING that Koreans aren't offended or pissed off about that they won't complain? It seems to be a national hobby.... complaining about every little damn thing and making folks get on their knees and beg for forgiveness.

Anyone wonder why South Korea is the number 1 nation for suicide rates? I think not.

Hmm I'm wondering why certain commenters get pissed when others respond to their comments in kind when they started…
I want to reiterate something. I'm not suggesting that those who aren't enjoying the drama shouldn't post and express those thoughts. I'm saying that attacking others posts who enjoy it and insulting just to be mean time after time ad infinitum aren't warranted. If you're not enjoying things, there's no need to drag down those who are. Vice versa as well, those who are enjoying it shouldn't be attacking random opinions of those who are harmlessly sharing that opinion.

Hmm I'm wondering why certain commenters get pissed when others respond to their comments in kind when they started by writing to others to insult their views and the drama.

It's pretty obvious they're just here to cause trouble and drama on this page. For someone who thinks so little of the drama, to the point they make ultra insulting comments, including personal insults towards the actors looks etc, I wonder why it is they seem to bother watching 14 episodes. They spend so much daily time and energy watching something they say they're absolutely hating watching and come over here to trash it and everyone who is enjoying it on their own. The most sane thing to do is to drop it and move on. So you have to ask yourself, why do they not? Why do they continue to post mean remarks everyday?

I have to assume they're pissed that the ratings have been going up, eh? I have to assume they are some anti-fan stalkers etc. It's kind of pathetic actually. I'm sad so many engage in the comments section with these antics.

To those of you who aren't anti-fans and sane, I personally suggest you don't bother with these types of people. They will just make your blood boil and diminish your enjoyment of the drama. Rather, the ideal thing to do is to just pass over ad hominem comments like these and ignore them. Don't respond whatsoever. They're here looking for attention. The best thing to deal with them is to let them talk to themselves alone. It's simply a waste of everyone's time otherwise.

i have questions...is ML too much of a simp? is ML rich while FL is poor?any cheesy or cringe dialogue?is FL childish/naive?do…
@Cherrymotion pretty much answered as I would have with slight changes:

1. I wouldn't say either were simps. It was a normal, natural, and organic development of a relationship over time. He was attentive to her because he was interested in her at first meeting but not overly so. In fact, his attention went unnoticed by her at the begin because he was subtle about his pursuit/interest of/in her. He just waited for her to show interest by hanging out & getting to know him over time... like most normal relationships develop.

2. There's a lot to this. I guess at first episode you'll see her as more wealthy family established, BUT the wealth aspect is relative and more based on the plots theme of billiards verses some power dynamics over money.

3. This is not a cheesy or cringe drama. This is a realistic development with a lot of other characters beside the couple. The main focus is definitely the couple amidst the backdrop of billiards but the supporting characters really fill out the story and it's not done in a cheesy way.

4. FL maybe considered naive by starting off in a foreign land not knowing too much about culture or where to live, eat, etc. But she's the guardian of another character taking them to this foreign land so, obviously, adults believe she's responsible. Anymore is a spoiler.

5. Not falling in love too fast. He's attracted to her and wants to date her from the start, but the process of the romance happens over time like any natural progression of a relationships IRL>

6. This is subjective. It is focused mainly on their romance. That's the entire aspect of this story. HOWEVER, it's about billiards and they play in "teams" so there are MANY supporting characters that are included in this story, both foreign and Chinese. There is a story behind both the male and female leads and their backgrounds intercross each other, ironically, although they don't meet in China but a foreign country... and that's probably the reason why this drama really captivated me. It had many levels to it and the development of the supporting characters amongst themselves was beautifully written.

.,...btw, I don't usually scroll the comments. I actually came here because I originally watched this drama on Viki... but just saw it got posted on NetFlix. It was so good, I thought, I think I'm going to rewatch this drama on NetFlix today... This drama was a 8/10 for me... and newer dramas haven't captivated me too much lately that rewatching feels better than starting something new... and also, I'm not a fanatic of any of the actors in this drama. I just enjoyed the plot and acting.
