I so totally agree. Hyeri's original post stopped short of calling out RJY for cheating on her with HSH. Whether…
All three of the people are shits in this situation. **Ryu Jun Yeol for pitting two women against themselves and not saying shit to clean it up except for "Oops... my bad, I didn't really want to date her anyway...'
**Hyeri for starting this mess knowing full well how this would play out --- and good for her, she should be happy now -- because it worked.
**Han So Hee for being insecure and worrying what K-Netizens think in the 1st place and feeling like she had to defend herself every single day with timelines etc. The more she did that, the guiltier she looked to them. Did they really want it to be resolved so easily? Not Hyeri or Ryu Jun's fans, that's for sure. They were NEVER gonna believe a word she said or take her side. Instead she, the most innocent in this situation, got the majority of the heat and came off as freaking childish. She's now totally tarnished her reputation in South Korea, and she tops it off with the post-break up letter calling Ryu Jun ugly. Like WTF???
HINT: What every single Korean celebrity needs to do is stay completely off of social media and avoid taking any non-publicity pictures full stop... lest it bite you in the behind later on... And women... if you're dating a man who doesn't want to do it in public, there's a reason... He may just be playing and stringing along a couple other women in the process...BEWARE...Know what you're getting into and how it might end... 😏
Yeah, someone who doesn't harm anyone but themselves, who is obviously struggling with mental health, in a nation that doesn't support mental health, needs to have his career ruined, humiliated, ostracized, and do menial work and live in the corner of society for the rest of their lives... because that'll make it better.... the world will be such a better place....
including for innocents like Lee Sun Kyun who test negative for drugs....
and then wonder why Korea is rated #1 for suicide for all developed nations. That's such a positive stat to be so proud of... don't you think....

Articles like this need to be posted so that the rest of us can bash on K-Netizens and South Korean culture.
Hyeri really did these 2 dirty by being a petty ex-g/f. This is not a "dating scandal". It's 2 SINGLE adults deciding to date each other. Hyeri is the 3rd person in this situation, not Han So Hee. Hyeri knew FULL well what her snide comment was going to do. It's in her apology post which actually comes out and says that she felt hurt. Somehow, after 4 months of not talking and seeing her ex-b/f, who she assumed at some point she'd get back together with, in her own words, she thought he should remain single. Now she's created a flaming pile of shit that K-Netizens want to sniff and eat.
Here's the results: "...Netizens Re-examine Ryu Jun-yeol’s Qualifications As Environmental Ambassador Following Dating Scandal After the transit love controversy, Ryu Jun-yeol is now criticized for lacking qualifications as an environmental promotional ambassador..."
So, now 2 grown adults who have done nothing wrong will have their CPs, endorsements, promotions, and film/drama acting work affected because K-Netizens want to crusade on behalf a psycho ex-g/f who cannot let go of her ex after a year of being broken up. The news for me is that K-Netizens will affect my ability to watch actors and actresses in dramas I want merely over some stupid PERSONAL shit that's none of their damn business... being made their business because someone can't put their IG account down and STFU and grow up. Let them all display the pathetic situation. Report on it for all to see how stupid they are and why South Korea is the #1 nation for suicide in the developed world. When you can't even live your life they way you want because K-Netizens want to be your dictator and ruler of morality.. instead of looking in the mirror.... they need to have the mirror forced in their faces.
I remember watching the original miniseries with Richard Chamberlain when I was 11. My dad had the novel in his bookcase. Made me want to read the book, which was actually even better than the miniseries. I'm interested to see how this comes out. The dude playing Lord Toranaga is 1 of the producers.
Hmmm. Busy Schedule?? 1) 2 O'Clock Date is a movie was filmed in April, 2022 and has been completed. It's just waiting release. 2) Noryang: Deadly Sea started filming on 6/15/2021 and is just now getting released in December. 3) 6 months ago Kim Seon Ho dropped out of the drama, Haesi's Shinru. This is not listed on Ahn Bo Hyun's filmography. He was offered the part 10/12/23 but it's not official he's taking the part. BTW, the reason that Ahn Bo Hyun got the 2 O'Clock Date role was also because Kim Seon Ho turned the role down. K-netizen, who are known to be super toxic, were pissed Bo Hyun is in Haesi's Shinru because they think he lacks the ability to act in romantic genres. So, he's still 'in talks" for this role, which means, he doesn't have a 'busy schedule' filming it. lol
He has been filming the drama chaebol x detective since August...so maybe this schedule didn't suit her after they started dating...but I think the K-Netizens going on and on about the YouTube channels Bo Hyun follows might have played a bigger part. K-Netizens are never happy unless they're dragging others from their happiness and making celebrities so lonely they're suicidal. It's a sick game the so-called 'fans' play....
But he got a bit of publicity out of it. Not sure it was positive... but he did get publicity.
If you're going to donate to a charity, i don't get why you would advertise it unless its for publicity.Edit if…
Are you fucking kidding me???
Do you know how much money was generated for ALS research over the "Bucket Challenge"??? People saw their favorite celebrities doing the challenge and it encouraged them to participate and DONATE as well.
In the end, over 17 million people "BRAGGED" on social media about their donation by pouring a bucket of ice water over their head and then CHALLENGING their friends and family to do the same. It raised $117 million in the USA and ~$220 million worldwide. BRAGGING about your donations opens the eyes of others to CHARITIES that they may or may not have known existed and causes that need to be supported. Word of mouth is part of what social media excels at frankly, and I'm grateful for it, even if YOU think it's self promotion.
When my dad was diagnosed with ALS, he was so HAPPY to tell me and my brother that '...at least it's not genetic..." because that's what was thought and known at the time. He passed away of the disease in 2013, a year BEFORE the 'Bucket Challenge' began. Now, with all the research that the money generated for ALS, a decade later, we know my dad's happy thought is NOT necessarily true. '...An estimated 5 to 10 percent of ALS is familial and caused by mutations in one of several genes...." How long would people believe what my dad did if not for the hundreds of millions of dollars in donations for research those BRAGGERS created??? The more we know, the more we can act to help and prepare for adversity, medical or otherwise.
How insulting for you to condemn this because someone BRAGGED out loud in such a way to enlighten others to a charity that may also need '...the average middle class person...' with a kind heart to look into as well. It's insulting to actually believe that the attention this draw doesn't have an impact on the level of donations average citizens will give knowing a celebrity they admire has donated themselves. PUBLICITY for a CHARITY is NEVER a BAD thing..... just stop.....
Romance in a drama does not equal rom-com. For it to be a rom-com, romance and comedy must be their primary genres.…
??? They're not backtracking... their comment said exactly that '... were not Romantic comedies although it was romance..." which means ',,,,Romance in a drama does not equal rom-com...." You literally did not make the 'gotcha' you think you did.....
Lol, you never intended to watch the drama in the first place.
BULLSHIT. I've watched a majority of the leads dramas.... Another arrogant human who likes to tell me who I am, and what I was or was NOT going to do.... But, I'm DEFINITELY NOT going to watch it now.... You and your antagonistic group of friends can be assured of THAT fact.
Apparently yeah you all are still kids here, because you're all either attacking her or defending her, when none…
Yeah, They also have this great technique as well. They BLOCK you so you not only cannot see their comments but YOUR comments you made to them in a thread. That means that the comment you posted ~11hrs ago to my 1 comment from yesterday, I cannot read at all. So I have no clue what you said to me unfortunately.
The only way for me to see it is if you copy+pasta what you wrote so I can read it. Sorry about that..... lol.
Holy shit. Thank you all for attacking me and telling me that you're using this drama as your friends Feeds section instead of the MDL Feeds section and think this is reddit.
As a binge watcher who has been on MDL since 2015, and lv26 contributor, I find it fascinating that I'm being told how to watch a drama, and use the comments section. I hardly EVER watch a drama and look at the comment sections while it's airing, and being told that this is the way I should do it or tough cookies is so arrogant. Trying to explain to me how things work in YOUR world is also arrogant.
Ask questions? No, I intend to see **others** thoughts and feelings as they watched the drama, in the moment. I'm not going to ask from a pack of drama Group Thinkers for their thoughts and feelings. Now, I understand why no one else bothers to comment of here. The fangirls swarm in and tell everyone who doesn't agree with them, what for, and how things are done ***here***.
Well, you all are right about one thing.... You've all convinced me to just drop this drama and never watch it if this is the group of people that enjoyed this drama.
Comments about the show are subjective. Do try watching a few episodes of the drama, if you are hooked, you are…
This goes without saying. If I want to get in depth about a drama, I'll bother reading several reviews.
However, I prefer to read several small comments posted 'in the moment' indicating ep # for both positive and negative vibes about a drama and each of the reasonings to get an overall flavor of whether the drama's episodes over time will be worth my while. I have a limited number of hours to watch something , and even 1 hr, in between fulltime work, chores, social interactions, etc is 1 hr of my FREE TIME too much to just 'try' something out blind.
Again, I'm putting it on hold until after the new year when things die down, and fresh new viewers come in the comment section to offer their ongoing, while watching the drama, insight into how they feel about the drama.
Per Baidu, some had voice dubbing, and others did not. Luo Yunxi is listed as doing his own dubbing. There are…
Maybe they modified his voice or he modified his own voice to suit the scene. If it is him acting but another voice is being used, as you indicate, that's exactly what that is = voice over, dubbing. There is NO unknown person behind-the-scenes doing the dubbing.. It is very clear by the information regarding Luo Yunxi's acting for this drama that he used his voice for every character he played in this drama, whether he dubbed over himself or they used what he said while he was acting the scene. It is ALL his own voice.
I cannot even scroll through all these comments to get ANYTHING resembling a comment regarding this drama.
The entire comments section is just an attempt to get a certain "number" of comments under this drama, for whatever political/popularity reason. All I'm left with is going through the reviews and deciphering who wrote something real or who just fangirled something.
Because of this, I think I'll skip this drama and put it on-hold until AFTER the new year.
Hi, I'm new to mydramalist, but I was wondering if someone knows the voice actor of Ming Ye in episode 11 when…
Per Baidu, some had voice dubbing, and others did not. Luo Yunxi is listed as doing his own dubbing. There are also many Chinese entertainment articles written about this subject for this drama. The headlines state that Luo Yunxi, not only did his own voice over dubbing , BUT, he DEMANDED that he do his own voice work for this drama.
Let’s not forget this whole conversation was in Korean, so let’s not interpret a conversation according to…
H: It’s okay, what’s the point of being sorry? All I need to do is report you. I waited for this moment. It looks like you made it? You made it.
H: Eora, why are you saying this? Even that day on the hill, did you or did you not surround me together with the other kids while accusing me of hitting [redacted]?
H: I’m waiting for your downfall. I don’t mind our identities being revealed. Because we’re the victims, and you’re the perpetrator. It’s not like we did anything wrong.
****************************
Man OH man. We're talking 2001-2003, when cellphones weren't even in use and South Korean culture was a LOT different than it is today!! Also, in these conversations are the fact that TEACHERS HIT THEIR STUDENTS for poor behavior. We're talking about a country where adults and kids alike regularly used violence to handle situations.
Who fucking remembers in their mid-30s EVERYTHING that ever happened to them specifically with accurate detail about everyone? Who remembers even every name, face, or person in their middle school classes and what they all said and did, even after school, and who they all hung around with, and their motivations in life and their family and upbringing? We're talking TWELVE to FOURTEEN YEAR OLDS here....
MY GOD, if EVERY human being has to pay the price with UNEMPLOYMENT and SHAME and OSTRICIZATION for every stupid little thing they ever did when they were 12 through 14, I fear for the productive of the society you're attempting to create. The age of ADULTHOOD is 18 for a fucking reason.... You're still a DEPENDENT not fully responsible for your actions because you're not 100% mature enough to understand the ramifications of what you're doing.... Especially when the society you are in has adults HITTING children as a form of discipline IN SCHOOL, teaching young impressionable PRE-teens that this is ACCEPTALBE behavior!!
NEXT WE'LL BE SAYING WE SHOULD DO AWAY WITH JUVENILE COURT, SEALING JUVENILE RECORDS AND MAKING ANY CRIMINAL PROCEEDINGS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, THE KID'S NAME & FACES EXPOSED AND CHARGE AS ADULTS. WHY EVEN DISTINGUISH BETWEEN A 12 YEAR OLD AND AN 18 YEAR OLD AT THIS POINT IF THAT'S HOW IT'S GONNA BE PLAYED??...
But isn't it all too convenient to ACCUSE DECADES LATER when everyone's memories are in disrepair and ALL the accusers can get FAME, SYMPATHY, and EXTORT MONEY from the situation, by piling on.... Everyone gets a piece of this pie, they think.... NEVER MIND that they are JUST as likely to have done BULLYING, by "HITTING" others... which they admit they were "ACCUSED" of... and all the DRAMA related to FRIENDS ONE DAY.... ENEMIES THE NEXT.... and we're NOW after DECADES only going to believe ONE SIDE OF THE STORY and a tabloid rag like DISPATCH to be the SEEKERS OF TRUTH in all of this... and accept that the memories of 30-something year olds about what happened at 12 and 14 is the end all and be all of the subject???? Just unbelievable..... to think this what amounts to the EVIDENCE of ending someone's livelihood and career.
'Most of you writing comments live in the Cancel Culture era, with FB, Twitter, & IG where you think you get to stand in judgement of everyone and everything in humanity, and never have to look in the mirror yourself. Hell, iPhone wasn't even released until 2007, nearly HALF A DECADE after these incidents supposedly occurred. Most of you probably don't even remember what it was like living without a cellphone, and how you contacted people and got around......
You know.... With MOST crimes, there is a Penal Code, and society sets that up for a reason.... WHY!?! Because the idea that you're going to make humans pay FOR LIFE for everything mistake they ever made is erroneous. We have STANDARDS of JUDICIAL SENTENCING..... If you expect a CRIMINAL TO REDEEM THEMSELVES when they get out of jail by NEVER ALLOWING THEM TO WORK IN SOCIETY AGAIN, what do you think will happen????? How do they make a living and feed themselves and their families when you SHUN them FOREVER???? CANCEL CULTURE??? You might as well live in CCP China where a LARGE segment of the population live under bridges and inside industrial cement pipes. And you even wonder why South Korea has the HIGHEST SUICIDE RATE of all developed nations????? It's this mentality. The minute you make a mistake, you're shunned, you can't work, you can't feed yourself OR your family, AND your friends AND family are now guilty by association..... HOW CAN YOU LIVE???? The ONLY solution for them is death..... AND BTW, this is for ADULTS sentenced.... We're talking TWELVE YEAR OLDS here having to, without due process, court, a trial, non-hearsay evidence, and a jury of their peers, pay the price of UNEMPLOYMENT from a career they developed over a decade, for what SOMEONE SAID they did in middle school, online, without releasing THEIR identities for scrutiny.... and you're ALL for it....
And you commenting and standing in judgement OUTSIDE A COURT OF LAW demanding the ENDING OF A CAREER for HEARSAY and evidence PAST THE STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS.... mind you a LIMIT that is set for the very reasons we have here,,,, memory of witnesses, and THEIR financial motivations to LIE as well.... and the INABILITY of the person the victims ACCUSED to defend themselves due to lack of FACTUAL evidence other than WITNESS MEMORY which is KNOWN to be EXTREMELY FAULTY the FURTHER OUT FROM THE CRIME YOU GO.... and all these Armchair Judges and Juries on the INTERNET can feel real cozy and happy that they've......
SERVED JUSTICE....
Pfft.... May Karma Hit You All On The Back Of The Head.
If you've been obsessed with K-dramas or K-pop for several years, you'd understand that this is the way it is…
you also fail to understand my point. Additionally, I have a international business degree. Part of diplomacy is understanding the culture you're dealing with, and yes, most ambassadors have studied regarding that, so wouldn't be a "newbie" who needs the explanations. It's the Johnny Come Lately-s that need the glossary...not the veterans...the veterans are the ones appointed to posts at the UN... so your point is mixing apples with oranges.
Regarding the terminology of dating being referred to as a "Dating Scandal"... that's exactly what is called in Korea and there is TN reasoning behind it and stating it differently doesn't explain the public reaction to some news.
Ji Soo is an idol... ...as noted in this BBC article discussing the concept of these things being a scandal it states.. "....The "no dating" clause of the contracts has resulted in some idols being sued for breaking it, accused of damaging their reputations..." Read it. It explains thee taboos and how Korean society is MUCH more conservative about relationships, among other things. etc. Ji Soo is fortunate that YG Family is allowing them to openly date. As they point out "...These “scandals” also depend on how fans welcome the new couple..."
This article actually focuses on how it's even harder for Japanese celebrities to date than Koreans etc.
Even international news media that deal with cultural issues understand these matters...it's not new nor needs to be written in a Western positive manner. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-35368705
