The ending is cliche, predictable BS. There are 100 more ways to get money. The leads chemistry is huge. He is definitely kissing her for real. I cannot take Song Seung Heon with Chinese dubbing. It's worse than Siwon Chinese dubbing. Both their voices are really so beautiful naturally. SSH's acting is always so sterile, his voice is like the only thing going for him.
It's so hard to tell if this is good or not because all the people really watching this movie because of Wu Yi…
Exactly. I like explanatory comments that include why someone liked or didn't like something that is more than just "i don't like this guy" "i like this guy" "it was dumb" "it was cute". When someone explains more depth to why they like or didn't like something, sometimes it will make me want to watch something because another person's reason for "hating" it might very well be a reason I want to watch it. Just because someone doesn't like it doesn't necessarily give it meaning. The meaning is in the descriptors.
It's so hard to tell if this is good or not because all the people really watching this movie because of Wu Yi…
If that's the case why have mydramalist and give reviews or comments? Everyone can just watch for themselves and make their own opinion. It's not my meaning. Some people, like myself, have spent hours upon hours watching various dramas and movies. Investing that kind of time and emotion takes its toil on you. After a while you "get smart" and realize that getting a "gist" of things from others might just save you some time, if not some emotions, from wasting it on dramas and movies that start off nice and end in horror. Getting burned by it too many times and feeling like you just got gypped of your precious time makes you very wary to spend time on "the unknown".
Someone else pointed out that this version is starting to make TenTen look like a douchbag, and I'd say at a level…
There's a whole section that's absolutely whitewashed in this version that just never sat well with me. In this version you have her coming to see TenTen with an entourage and he takes her to the zoo to simple tell her "I'm going to be a doctor so what should you be?" Their dialogue is childish and there is no depth and true intimacy to it. It's sad because when they meet together at an amusement park he takes Nana to, now it has implications that he takes every girl to a park. It's no longer special and starts to lack its meaning. I know Thai's don't have an issue with sleeping in the same bed before marriage because I've seen other Thai dramas so I'm not sure why they choose to do it this way. Well, that's not entirely true. I did comment previously my worry about TenTen already knowing he wanted to be a doctor etc so there wasn't much reason to have the "taking Kotoko to his apartment scene".
This is what bothers me because that scene is integral to the relationship of TenTen & Taliw. In both the Japanese & Taiwanese versions [even if the reasoning behind how they get there are a bit different] Naoki takes Kotoko back to his apartment after a medical incident. In both versions, this is where TenTen would learn Taliw has "night blindness" which is an additional reason for Naoki to make the decision to be a doctor. In the Japanese version Naoki's bro had just been hospitalized so they have the "doctor" discussion at his home. In the Taiwanese version Naoki's bro gets hospitalized right afterward and they have the "doctor" discussion. His apt is also, in both versions, where she worries he's not attracted to her because he won't do anything and he explains his reason for leaving isn't that he doesn't like her but that he's trying to get out from the control of his family especially his mother and the feeling of a predestined life. Because of her and the chaos she brought into his life, he discovers he'd like to see if he can create a unique life of his own without the influence of his family. There is so much meaning behind these scenes but they cut them out of the Thai version and made the person who got sick Taliw's friend and TenTen already had a discussion with his little brother about wanting to be a doctor even before this incident. Yes, he has the worry Taliw got lost but still, it's just one of MANY reasons not THE reason for the decisions in his life. In this version it makes TenTen look more dictatorial and controlling in the way Taliw decides to be a nurse than in the others where the process is more fluid.
I really hate to say it, but in this version, where they seem to really be trying to make TenTen seem nicer and softer, he's actually coming across in the end more mean and uncaring. In the previous version, TenTen never kissed another girl or had another "girlfriend". The promise and what not were always family decisions and promises that he felt he had to make, not because he actually had feelings and wanted to be in a relationship... ... so even worse to say, "TenTen and Nana were once BOYFRIEND AND GIRLFRIEND". That's a BIG difference in my book to the other versions. It means that he's been able to care for another woman and make a commitment to another woman and, thus, his inability to make a decision and commitment to Taliw leads one, without any extra knowledge, to believe he never cared as much for Taliw as he does for Nana. What other conclusion can you draw?
Also, adding Mike's lewd song in the middle of it while driving Taliw doesn't help TenTen's image to not come across as playing 3 women at the same time.
I STILL like this version, I just think that the whole "TenTen is really just shy but a nice dude" is a big fail. Still enjoy the new dynamics, especially the new King 2nd lead. Interesting changes.
It's so hard to tell if this is good or not because all the people really watching this movie because of Wu Yi Fan. He's listed as the main role yet I read the supporting actor has the better part. I read Wu Yi Fan is either really great at acting since it's his 1st time OR that his acting is cringe-worthy and sucked and wasn't on par with the rest of the cast. Too many commenters on drama sites that have this movie saying "I couldn't make it past 1 hour" the story was disjointed and dragged... and then these others saying it was a "CUTE" love story, or that they "CRIED" for the alternative couple.. I just have no idea what to think SO, I think I'll pass on it and maybe comeback to it when I'm not really looking for something to watch that'll move me.
Someone else pointed out that this version is starting to make TenTen look like a douchbag, and I'd say at a level this is pretty accurate if not for some subtlety that you have to pay close attention to in order to give TenTen a break on his attitude.
1. The lack of interaction between Taliw, as far as significant conversations where they have mutual understanding, like other versions, makes him seem like a real jerk. In the other versions, there is only ONE kiss and it is done to tease her. He doesn't kiss on her over and over and make her believe there's more there. He keeps his indecision to himself and doesn't abuse his knowledge of her feelings for him. Unfortunately in this version it's kiss, reject with a verbal insult, kiss, reject AGAIN with a verbal insult. It's kinda more abusive than any of the other versions frankly.
2. His lack of ability to speak is even more poignant in this version. We see everything from everyone's perspective YET we have to keep in mind that what Taliw, & TenTen see are not complete. TenTen doesn't see that she accepts King because of his rejection. He thinks she is easily moved by King, because his mom put that into his mind. She sees Nana being physical and affectionate but doesn't see that he reacts shocked and uncomfortable by it. It's obvious TenTen has a distance to that relationship but he lacks communication to make things clear with everyone and thus looks like the douchebag that goes easily from one chick to another without feelings.
3. The only redeeming factor in all of this is that I know, from earlier episodes that TenTen made this decision not because of his dad or Nana or the business, like other versions, but because of his conversation with his mom where he made an unfeeling, mathematical calculation that he would not be able to make Taliw completely happy. He calculated that he already has an established relationship with Nana and doesn't need to concern himself with those kinds of emotions with her. He also made the final calculations that, in Taliw's best interest, King would be more compatible with her.
...the upswing is that, everytime he has to re-engage and confirm his calculation for himself by telling Taliw, insultingly, that this is the way it's supposed to be, his heart suffers even more each time... which means.. of course, that it will eventually burst like we all are anticipating.... unfortunately, with this version spending far too much time on Taliw and King's relationship and them spending time together, we'll end up having to wait until either ep. 19 OR GOD FORBID the final episode for TenTen to pull his head out of his ass and confess to Taliw.
Now that I just watched the live version of ep. 18, and yes, I don't speak Thai but I can follow the gist of what's happening, I have to say that I really like this version and hate this version all at the same time. Never thought it would be possible. There are aspects that are better in this version but in other ways there is a disconnect and dragging feeling. As to not spoil it for anyone, I put my spoiler info in another post but just say here that the worst part for me and a way to show how I love/hate this version is that King gets FAR too much time with Taliw which makes you feel more connected to them as a couple than TenTen with her, YET I like this version of King because he's not ridiculous and is kind/caring in a way that's special with Taliw. ...makes me pretty salty actually...
This was a good movie. Although at the beginning I was a bit perturbed that is seemed the supporting characters were the actually the main characters and vice versa. Yet, the story in itself is a really good one that it held my attention. I'm glad because the final outcome and how it got there was really nice and somewhat poignant.
As promising as the storyline was, the film still fell flat for me. What I did find interesting about this film,…
Varying opinions from different perspectives is appreciated. In depth explainations for liking or not liking something are appreciated. It helps a person to better decide their personal time allotment. Some people don't have 2-3 hours to waste on something that they won't enjoy in the long run. It's why critics have a job. It's why people join sites like mydramalist. I appreciate something more than: "It was good" or "It was funny" or "I did not like it" or "it was boring". For me, the in depth reasoning helps me decide even better because your reasoning for not wanting to see movie may, in turn, end up being a reason I want to see it. Or vice versa, the reasoning I may completely agree with and decide to skip the movie.
It's very, very puzzling especially considering how serious their censorship is in relationship to brandishing a weapon, drinking alcohol, or smoking. I'm not sure the message they are trying to convey but it's kind of hypocritical to try to come across as concerned about humanity then have no concern over portraying abuse to a woman.
This kind of storyline would no longer play in Hollywood specifically because of the new laws put in place since 2014. It's no longer: you must stop if the woman says, "no", BUT that you must actually get full and complete consent from the female to touch her at all. So, even if she was moaning and groaning that made you, as a guy, think she was in to it and wanted you to continue, UNLESS she actually said, "yes, I want to do this", if later on she goes to the police and claims you raped her, in the state of California, in the United States, that would be 100% considered rape and you would be charged for it. So, in this day and age, I don't get how this is still a "thing" of interest.
I am under the impression that you can download the final episodes as well as encoded subs from doramax264 for the final episodes. I know people prefer to watch it streaming and not have to do a bunch of complicated stuff but it's actually pretty easy and I've never had any problems from the site. If you have a vlc player it's a snap. 1. Make a file folder on your desktop. 2. Download the raw episode and unzip it in file folder. 3. Download encoding file and unzip it in file folder. 4 Rename only encoded file title to match the EXACT name of your episode but maintain the ext [whatever the 3 letters is after [.] ] 5. Start your VLC player and open the episode. The encoded subs will automatically appear.
Anyway, I won't watch this one. I watched Charly [1968] back when I was a child and it had a profoundly horrible affect on me emotionally. I hated that people felt they needed to change someone merely because they didn't represent their idea of perfection. I was so emotionally disturbed by the ending that I've avoided this story in any other way it's represented like the plague. I didn't really enjoy my heart being pulled out of my chest, at least not in this manner.
I'm really liking this but it's really nothing like the original story.
This is why the Autism Society needs National Autism Awareness Month, because people believe kids with this neurological [brain] disorder are making behavior choices on purpose and act bad in school or in public because they are either [bad kids] or have [bad parents] who do not raise them right. That all you have to do is [let him know his behavior is unacceptable] and he can just easily change. I guess that's my point.
People do things for a multitude of reasons... ...and if someone came up with a cure for ALS or Pancreatic Cancer or Heart Disease [all maladies that took both my parents from me at an early age], I wouldn't care 1 iota if the reasons for it were greed, fame, prestige, pride, or any other multitude of negative, selfish reasons. If the end result is that my parents would still be alive, I would have been fine with it. I don't need people to be pious in order to appreciate their help and achievements. If it helps humankind in general, I'm all for it.
...but that's just me... We just have different experiences and different ideas about life.
