How could these boys be so, so beautiful? The love scene was very sensual, their chemistry is great. It is frustrating though when there is an opportunity for a much deeper story and development and we only get some hints.

I'm also at episode 7 and I definetly reccomend the series. It is funny and very sweet, borh couples have a great chemistry and the story is perfectly supporting that. We are used to deep drama in BLs. This is fresh to me. Like a good pause between the Missing piece and Ash. Police in love is something similar.

That’s a fair question and looking at it purely logically, letting Shen Mo go might seem like the "right"…
My comment is indeed largely based on the last two episodes. The reasons behind the contract and Ji’s initial behavior have yet to be revealed. For now, it doesn't seem like Ji made the contract out of a desire to own him, especially since he released him earlier than Shen Mo wanted. If I were the writer, the only reason to use this plot point would be to help Shen Mo stop confusing Ji with Zhou Yang and face reality. In the end, even though Zhou Yang acts nicely, it hurts Shen Mo deeply. While I don't condone that kind of behavior, I always try to understand the reasoning when people are treated poorly, even if there isn't always one. Besides, this is a Chinese BL, so a bit of toxicity is practically guaranteed.

a question, if Ji Ming Xuan loves Shen Mo & feel guilt towards him, knowing full well that at some point in…
That’s a fair question and looking at it purely logically, letting Shen Mo go might seem like the "right" or healthiest choice. But psychologically, love especially guilt driven love is not logical. In my opinion, Ji Ming isn't perfect or flawless. He's deeply conflicted. Holding Shen Mo close is partly driven by his own quiet loneliness and his need to protect Shen Mo himself, rather than trusting an unsafe world to do it. His ego lead him to believe he can handle the weight of everything, his sister, Zhou Yang and protecting Shen Mo, all at once.Pity would mean letting Shen Mo go to spare him further pain, but Ji Ming’s love is raw, personal and selfish in a very human way. He wants to be Shen Mo's safe space and shelter, even when his own life is where this is all coming from. It’s definitely flawed and messy, but that tension is exactly what makes his devotion so intense rather than just a clean, distant gesture of goodwill. And yes, I do prefer to take a more romantic view of it, although I agree that it might become toxic.

This drama goes to sensitive places most of us actively try to avoid. Pain from love can completely overwhelm a person, leaving them feeling broken or unable to function. We often judge that as weakness because most of us use our ego and self defense mechanisms to deal with it and move on. While those protective walls are necessary, I’ve always had a soft spot for people who break down as their inability to hide behind defenses just shows how deeply and openly they loved.
Ji Ming stands out. He has both a strong sense of self and an incredible capacity to love Shen Mo fully. He isn't perfect, but he is steady, reliable, and genuinely open to connection despite his own quiet loneliness. The drama may seem understated on the surface, but the story and the two leads capture a remarkably pure and rare kind of love I think.

Most BLs have a limited run, mostly 10 or 12 episodes so they have fixed ones like 6,9 etc for when they want…
I have to say that I prefere BLs that don't follow that script. In real life it's usually around 4th date.😊

Generally speaking, once it's consensual, the person who bottoms actually has more "power" in the sexual…
It does make a lot of sense what you’re saying about consent and I completely agree that who bottoms should be free to decide when and whether to continue. I also think the dynamic between men and women is quite similar in that way.
What I find interesting is the psychology behind what happens afterwards. Sometimes pulling back seems less about genuine hesitation and more about regaining a sense of control after being emotionally vulnerable. If you’re insecure about the other person’s feelings, you may also need reassurance that they still want you before allowing yourself to be vulnerable again.
So now thinking of it, I don’t see it as manipulation. It could be fear of rejection, insecurity, or simply the need to feel that you still have some power in the relationship.
But if the feelings are genuinely becoming deeper, I’d expect that to bring more trust, intimacy and emotional securiy.
For me, the more interesting progression would be when the initial power game gradually disappears because both feel secure enough to be vulnerable with each other. ❤️
On the other hand, a deep sense of insecurity may be there since Lin Zai was kidnapped by Lie and none of them knows exactly what for yet.

Absolutely love this series! ❤️ But there’s one thing that has been bothering me in so many BLs. Why is it that, after the top finally makes his conquest and we get that intense, beautiful first love scene, the next day the partner suddenly won’t let him do it again or barely even lets him touch him? I find that a little frustrating. I expect the feelings to become more intense, and naturally, the intimacy and affection to grow along with them. Instead, it sometimes feels like a game: You conquered me, so now I need to take some of the power back and it’s up to me when and where we’re going to do this again. Eventually, they get back on the same page, of course, but I can’t help thinking… why all the power games in the first place? When the feelings are real and getting stronger, I’d love to see that reflected in their behavior too.

Title Ash
Everyone should have a problem with AI because change is possible only if people speak up. If everyone accepts…
I understand what you’re saying and I do agree up to a point. From my perspective, though, the real reason it is not scary for me is that it feels like a bad use of AI — it slightly alters the experience without really adding much to it. I really like the story and the main leads and I think that this why people are watching.
At the same time, I think we’ve been altering reality for entertainment for a very long time. We enjoy cartoons, even adult animation when it’s really well made and all kinds of other illusions and artificial worlds. Maybe AI is simply the newest tool for doing that — and perhaps we’re still at a stage where it doesn’t do it particularly well.
And, personally, when I want something truly real, I don’t watch a screen at all. 😊

The reason I don't have a problem with AI is that, for now, you can still see is something else, it may become just a subgenre. The story in Ash si very good and the caracters have some layers, which is more than many of the real stuff out there.

One other thing is that James is behaving like he is immortal, dearing and ready to take risks, young as he is, while Ken is wise, more prudent, especially now that he loves James. It's an interesting contrast.

Such good and original choises that deepened the chemistry between Ken and James. I loved and lived every minute of their interraction. The night vision, the body search...I wish that scene was longer. Then missing the ex boyfriend, what could have been and the emotions of what it is with James. Many layers and beautiful scenes. Not to forget Johnny which I absolutely hated and loved in Top Form. Also, the third couple is very promissing,I didn't see that coming.

No, he didn't check under his pants.😳 Top kissing in a korean bl and actually very plausible approach to plot. Accessing relationship through dreams very common when it's a person you've known all your life.

I agree. I continued watching it but really dissapointed about how the plot turned out. I think it would have been better to keep the office romance dynamic after Jane Patrick came back.

You are right. It is coherent with his character. I was wondering if this was a source of inspiration for the writer as well as it resembles a lot with people from my family with Aspergers.

Great series! Is Ken a little bit on the spectrum? The way he looks at people, not ditectly in the eyes and how he is, socially indifferent. I personally like his character a lot and I like how this types of characters evolve and change when being loved. I know it is misterious and connected to the plot as well of course, but I was just wondering.

This was very artistic, obviously, but also very original, unique, a good merge between the story, visuals and music. I'm left with very warm feelings. After a while, I will rewatch it as I feel this is something worth binging whe you're looking for a certain type of mood. Like everyone, I love Dew and I want to see him with a bl partner soon.
