Not making any sense of the story but these two boys - candy faces. I want to see them again.

can someone like fan xiao be considered a sociopath? he has all the traits of a High-Functioning sociopath
I think it is deep trauma, fear of abandonment and an inability to properly court someone and be in a relationship due to the environment he was raised in. That being said, he does check some of the DSM criteria for psychopathy. I prefer the first explanation because I see him near Shulang in the future.šŸ™ˆ

Fan Xiao when thinking he was winning, talking about Shulang - that good man blind to suffering, that lier who peddles hope. Is he envious? Does he hate how Shulang shows him exactly who he is? And than begging to be called by him. I bet I look awful. I am sinking...You should be happy Fan Xiao..I don't want to leave. Internal conflict between the real desire to stay and the fake one to win. Marvelous scene. You almost wish he was able to lie good and lie forever. But this is actually better.

Fabulous episode... Except one tiny detail. When did his ex left the house ? When Shulang & FX had their confrontation…
Maybe he didn't. The ex still needs saving.

And this is how Fan Xiao played himself. I am still rooting for him but only if I see deep pain and real redemption. Shu Lang, don't blame yourself. Nobody is as smart as you. The revenge is already done by Fan Xiao himself. And plain torture for us until next week.

So satisfying to see Iljo hitting Jeonghan in the leg. The level of gasliting went too far and Iljo was not going to be a victim, just deeply in love. I am impressed by the acting in the series and that includes the villain cousin. Is it too wrong that I like his looks?šŸ™ˆThe only problem I have is that I needed more backstory or depth in the character of Jeonghan so that I can believe he is capable of radical change. But all in all, so much better than I expected.

It goes to the core of the human nature. Obsession, possession, manipulation but also deep need for love and acceptance. The bad and the good in all of us. We are struck by the fact that Fun Xiao is pursuing what we censor ourselves to even desire. Somebody just for himself, regardless of all costs. How dare he? We know he tragically lost that kind of love and attention during childhood and he wants it back. Shulang on the other hand, is slowly waking up from the free fall. The trust issues. I don't even dare to imagine what will happen when he will find out about the ex. We all hope it will be too late by then. And this is because we are already rooting for Fan Xiao. The scene with the brothers. We, as well as Shuelang, which by the way means bright scholar, got to see more of the drama that made Fan Xiao who he is. Sometimes, a series like this comes and we don't know what hit us. It makes most of the other ones look like light entertainment.

Honestly, I'm this close to giving up on this series. It started it out pretty solid. I was happy to see Ja and…
I would have preferred to see the story of Kit and Seen from the play with the same actors. Maybe it was introduced as a reflection of their current main story but it looks to me like the story from 1997 has more potential. Not because the topic is not relevant today but the characters and the plot look more deep in just 10 min screen time. And they play a little bit better that scene in ep. 8. That is the only good thing I can say. The main problem to me in fact is the lack of depth of the main characters. And I don't know yet if it's a story or an acting issue.

Person Yun Qi
First of all, he is a great actor. His role is quite complex and he is doing a great first job! I can see him playing a beautiful in love vampire or other type of fantasy and also historical series. But my heart will always be with the lonely apparently bad boy gone good as a result of loving another person. At least this is what I hope it will happen.

Sorry for asking but what behaviour of Shulang made you feel he is a red flag?
I think all you are saying is valid. And so specific to age difference relationships. In general, with some exceptions, you cannot expect that level of maturity at 20 smth. Also, for me, the first scene with them together is Shulang trying FXs cigarettes after he didn't like them first. I don't know how much younger is FX but in their case it's not the age. It might just be that they met at the level of trauma each had at that point. Looking forward to see where this is going.

"I never gamble on what I can't win. You're the exeption". Shulang knows what he's getting into. And he never let himself deeply love before. He is aware of the fall. I don't know if FX is aware but they are falling together to the point that FX will not be able to handle it. Chinese are best at mature bl drama. There is no contest. Universally relatable.

It was what his ex-boyfriend said. He never got too close in fact. Difficulties in having a real connection. He did everything right but the ex didn't feel it. It was this fact as well as his age that the ex was so easy for FX.

Is it ok if I like this series mainly for the Tshirts and the colour schemes? The reading in the library was hilarious! It's like I can't not watch this. Something is pulling me in.
On The Journey to Killing You Sep 28, 2025
It's emotional, deep and it draws you in right from the beginning. Although it is predictable, it remains intense for now because of the story and the good acting. Of course, if you like it dark and on the edge like I do. I very much liked the insertions with the child and the dead bird, the wife. For me, they don't only show that there is potential for humanity in each and every one, but also how fragile and random things are. I see in many Japanese bls great things that can be developed further but 6 short ep. is not too much. It reminds me of Happy of the end from last year which I absolutely loved.

I’m finding Thanwa annoying, and the era a bit grim. I grew up through the 70s, and it’s distinctly unromantic…
Maybe the era was unromantic but people were people back than too. They love, they lost, they made mistakes etc. This is actually what I love about the show, it depicts the impact of social and political context on people, families and relationships. You cannot see it in the streets but it is pretty much happening during hard times. I think that Tanwa does care and he u understands. He is just not a fighter, it is not in his soul.

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel sorry for Dhevi (Krailert’s wife)? She’s clearly lonely, and her husband…
I am also wondering if the husband is being so cold on purpose. To make her leave first. He is not giving absolutely anything to her besides the title.

I feel for her. She has been neglected and lied to since the beginning of the marriage. She also needs to loose her illusions about her marriage and this man. I like how they handled the situation with Veera. It is not about revenge at this point, but about having natural desires and the need for real connection. She is not wanted...not even for preparing a meal. She doesn't have a career, she must feel unprotected, unsafe, ruminating on what she's doing wrong. At the same time, I am actually not so sure about what she will do next seeing how she avoids confronting her husband, staying in quiet desperation but still keen on keeping the image of this house of cards intact.

This series is pure poetry and music that reaches the deepest human emotions in a direct and profound way. Nothing seems out of place to me. Every character is so easily universal, you don't feel the work behind it. Nothing is artificial or random. And the stories say so many relevant things about humanity, ideals of youth, love, jealousy, the difficulty of choosing the truth of who you are in a society that was still so conventional and the helplessness that may come with that. But for me, everybody leaves in the end is also an invitation to cease the day, the feelings we are feeling, good or bad. It's called living. One other thing I like about the series is that the characters are constantly evolving or at least they contemplate moving forward whatever that means for each of them. So it is both a coming of age story and a story about losing the illusions of youth. But it remains hopeful. A glimpse of light now and than in all the misery and the complex social context. It makes you wonder what you would have done being in those situations and in those roles. How do you manage not losing yourself? I think it educates you on being less judgemental from this perspective. It is indeed a masterpiece. ā¤
