TBH, at first my opinion was same as that commenter. It was my mother who made me realise why Lin Zhixiao was not wrong in this situation, since she also faced a similar situation like her in real life. It's okay I understand... Everyone has different opinion. TBH at first even my opinion was exactly like you, especially because the drama was more detailed about the trauma Gu Wei and his way of doing things. Yet they never showed us properly why Lin Zhixiao did those stuff. The comment that I wrote about why Lin Zhixiao is right for doing this is actually not my opinion, rather it's my mother's words. When my mother married my father she was 23 and my father was 31 and they faced a similar type of situation like the leads in the drama. Something bad happened in his workplace and the company he worked was almost got bankrupt and he almost lost his job. My mother was pregnant with me at that time, so my father didn't tell her this news. It was later she found out about the situation from one of my father's colleagues wives about the situation and she was very angry and deeply hurt that time. At that time she was also feeling very embarrassed in front of others. Although they they were not telling her much, since she was pregnant, yet my mother could feel their mockery through their facial expressions, since they are your typical asian housewives. She had a big argument with my father and also almost miscarried. So my mother was able to explain me what triggered her anger. First it was the betrayal of trust and second getting lectured by non other your love rival that she is not a perfect girlfriend.

When I first watched the scene even I thought it was a bit harsh for her to get angry with him... But later when I re watched it 2 to 3 times, I realised that her getting angry was justified, according to her age and experience... First of all she is not a prophet who can read minds... We as a third person know that he never meant to hurt her, but she as second person doesn't know this... The biggest thing in any relationship is trust... Gu Wei didn't have much trust in his love, since he thought that telling her this might hurt her and she might not go to Germany to achieve her dreams... But he forgot that she was only going to Germany for him not for her dreams... What hurt Lin Zhixiao was not the dinner, rather it was after the dinner, where she asked him what's wrong with him numerous times... Yet he didn't tell her... I know he was going through psychological issues... But there is big rule in relationship... No matter how big or small the problem is, you must tell it to your partner... But he didn't tell it to her... At the first episode he saw that how much she comforted him, even though they were strangers at that time... Imagine how much she and her family would have comforted him if had only said his problem... Plus she got to know his problems from others rather than him telling her... This also proved his lack of trust on her since she is last person to know his problem... We know that he might have not meant this in his heart but unfortunately his actions made it seem like this to her... Also if you watch that scene again, when she went to confront him, she didn't start to lash on him at first... She just calmly asked him if the problem is big or not and wanted to take him back but he kept refusing that's why she lashed on him... We know that if he hadn't gotten back on time then his career would have really gone down the drain, and he would have later blamed himself more that he let his truma come in between everything... Also me as a girl, even I want my spouse to be truthful to me... If our work places are different like that of Xiao Xiao and Gu Wei, then I would definitely want my spouse to tell me every small problems that he faced in a whole day... Even my father tells every small problems to my mother and vice versa, so I would want the same from my spouse too... And I think even Lin Zhixiao wants the same too...

It's not fast paced nor its slow burn... You won't find the leads falling in love at first sight, it takes a bit of time... The ML falls in love first at episode 7... The FL will also realise her feelings for him at episode 10... However they will propose each other at episode 15-16... There will be fights and misunderstandings but that gets resolved very quickly...
