hmmm... If Lu Zhong didn't survive till AD1609, then maybe his next of kin or disciple connected to him is doing it, after reading his written journal... But the bearded guy already appeared twice in the episode to kill the ex-cook.

If not Lu Zhong, then could it be Turkey whose next of kin or relative was also killed in the fire?

This Lu Zhong is a deep person. He's actually not mute, but he hid this so well.

Quite a lot has been revealed already. It's quite clear that Master Xue is the Lu Zhi. Even Zhang Gui and his shige already appeared with him. Gui Er's father Captain Leng has been in cahoots with Lu Zhi (now Xue). He's the first to get killed.

as i've said earlier, i believe Siniang is killed by Xue & gang because she's about to spill their 20yo secret to Sangeng.

My guess: The serial murderer is Lu Zhong, now seeking revenge on Lu Zhi (Master Xue) and his henchmen Zhang Gui and his shi ge Lui Shi Qi.. He's already attempted to kill the ex-cook
