Yes, as TS Johnson mentioned, many incidents happened in 1-5 and ain't boring. Though i hate the sight of 2ML and 2FL, i still binge-watched the 1st 5 eps for FL and to understand FL's background and personality.

Complications:
#1 Ye Rong, on the surface told FL that she & 2ML weren't in any relationship but actually set her up for a rejection. Made things difficult for her whenever opportunities arose.
#2 Zhuang Xu, though he's not interested in Rong at all, he didn't declare his non-interest nor made any effort to stop Rong from making their uni mates think they're a couple.

Bottom line: Nothing happened. FL confessed to 2ML she liked him but got rejected.
Ep. 5-7 shows her mind is still very much preoccupied with 2ml AND NOT over him yet.
But we're now seeing some improvement after ML's 2nd accident in mid Ep. 7 when her mind and body is busily coping with errands set by ML...

Omo! ML is accident prone! Crash landing on knee and injuring L-hand again while Princess falls right into his arms! 🤗😘🤗

i don't normally touch modern/office romance drama, but watched this for FL/ML visuals. Binge-watched 5 eps and now looking forward to Ep. 6 in 5 hrs' time!

think the "misunderstanding" fell on the ML because someone set him up to meet FL saying that she's interested to meet him. And because of that, he drove his way to meet her and then had the accident.
But the FL didn't even know she's supposed to meet him. Maybe her father has another daughter who's interested in ML

as seen in Ep. 5 @ 23:32, based on him massaging his left thumb and wrist, he can no longer perform surgery work like he used to at his peak.

I guess the Brainwashed example would be the "Director of Manhou New Brides"
and the genuine Japanese would be the Painter whose exposure to all the incamp cruelties let him see the real truth and purpose in that place.
