You're right about Anshi's mother. She didn't care about him at all. Actually, she's not a good mother to both sons. IMO though she returned to the palace, she didn't put her heart & soul into nurturing the 1st son. She's probably drowned in her own sorrowful thoughts! As i rewatch this drama, I realise there are quite a plenty of sad moments bringing me to tears. When Scholarly Deity made his exit... When Yu Sheng Mo bids farewell to his disciple... and the others all related to YDZ who's been short-changed from childhood to fatherhood...
This drama is not for those who dislike dramas with sad outcomes…

question directed to novel readers. I read the last two chapers of the translated novel and have these questions. #1 by the end of novel, the lifestory of the two - Su Muyu and Su Changhe = has not ended yet, right? #2 Or did i miss reading between the lines?
Tianwaitian invades Beili because of resources and to move out of the cold land... This suddenly reminds me of Hongdie and her army invading Wang Lin's mortal home...
I'm on episode 4 and it has been so meh for me. Will it pick up or it remains slow and flat?
As far as i can recall, my viewing interest level was somewhat down/up/down/up and up... I didn't particularly like the ML or the FL characters. Think my interest in the Ye Ding zhi character kept me watching to the end... It really depends on your liking, preference and what you see is meh and what is not...
Finally, a drama about Wu Xian. I've always wondered about the significance of offering the five-colored paper...But to my disappointment, there's really nothing about them!
